Found you!!
Accordiongirl, just finished reading The Tenderness of Wolves by Steph Penney, 5/10 not really my cup of tea! Now reading Possesssion by AS Byatt and really struggling with it, thats the thing about book clubs, makes you read things you wouldnt normally! Well H came home at 6pm and has been picky with me since he walked thru the door. I could not help but be cross as the first thing he did was reach for the gin and had 2 large G&Ts!! Just had 3 units of fluid for severe dehydation!! Its now 10.30pm and he hasnt had a drink since 7pm, what to do? The Mac nurse saw him today and said that chemo will prob resume in 2 weeks to give him chance to pick up, they may also adjust the dose. So...............I just feel blitzed by the whole thing. HM I love Harrogate, havent been there though since 92, happy hols with Matthew and my folks, had tea at Betty`s, I should love to visit! Hows the packing going Shabs, wish I was nearer to help. How did Tomster get on with his solo?

tkband3 · 18/07/2008 22:48

I have an empty house . Well, apart from DH and the dog that is. Girls have all gone to stay with my bro and SIL for the w/e. DH and I plan to 'get lots done' around the house . I only left them at 7.00 and I miss them!

Went to hospital for DD1's pre-op assessment this afternoon which all went fine, except that she had a temperature of 38. She had a temp yesterday and had a nap in the middle of the day for the first time in years, but has no other symptoms at all. In fact, when we got to my bro's house, she got her birthday present from SIL which was a High School Musical cheerleading outfit, complete with pompoms. From somewhere she has managed to pick up the rudiments of cheerleading - if I can work out how, I'll post the little mpeg of her doing it - it's hilarious . Her op is on Tuesday .

Trips, hope H is better this evening. I tried to read Possession years ago, but couldn't get into it and gave up - which is quite rare for me.

Shabs, good luck with the decorating. DH (who is reading over my shoulder and passing irritating comments) says 'hope you get a good finish' .

Hello Pazza and AG .

And Mars, I've passed your details onto my friend who's expecting DTs in November, for doula-ing purposes and ante-natal classes.

accordiongirl · 19/07/2008 00:42

Sorry can't enter into intelligent booky conversation with you at this point Trips cos haven't got a brain anymore read either of those.

Hello TK. And Pazza.

Do you really live in the land of Bernard Matthews Rubester? Have to ask twice cos sometimes people say things here as a joke and I don't get it and think they're serious and end up imagining Shabs in a Greek holiday villa on a Suffolk farm with stables for Snorris's ponies.

accordiongirl · 19/07/2008 00:44

Shabs - step away from the paintpot. Put down the paintbrush and no-one will get hurt.

Night night all, hope everyone peaceful.

[zzz emoticon]

shabster · 19/07/2008 08:57

Hope you had a lovely birthday yesterday estar!

estar · 19/07/2008 09:16

I did thanks

shabster · 19/07/2008 09:40

Think I have reached 'packing, painting and moving HELL.' Now got two houses that are cluttered up, need a dam good clean and I feel like I am wading through mud in both of them. Yes - I know it will be ok in a few days BUT I want to run away screaming!!

frumpygrumpy · 19/07/2008 12:12

Did I tell you we watched Nadal win Wimbledon...... in the local square just a few miles up the road from his home town?

Did I say the locals were throwing sweets out of their cafes to all the children?

Did I say the villa owner looked like melted caramel (and his handsome father even more so!) and that I lust over him and that every welcome hair on my body stood on end when he brought us sun ripened, warm blackberries hand picked by him in the field? (I saw the staining on his handsome hands [slurp]

Oooh yeah, and did I say that 2 of my 3 children had a bug and that the weather broke last week?

Did I say HM thank you, what a great surprise!!!! I will read the roundups asap

Did I say I now have holiday blues?

frumpygrumpy · 19/07/2008 12:15

Shabs, I know that feeling. Its the one where it gets worse and worse and worse and you can't see how sense will come of it all.

It will. Keep breathing. In. And out. Keep repeating "its meant to be like this and soon it will be better".

Next week, I'm going to post you that book I mentioned for Em. (At Home No-one Hears You Scream) If nothing else, it might help here feel that she is not alone. Will that be ok?

frumpygrumpy · 19/07/2008 12:17

Missed you all!!!

HarrogateMum · 19/07/2008 12:40

Welcome back FG! Hope you had a fab time. Thank goodness you are back to do the round ups. They are hard work!

PazzaPlusTwo · 19/07/2008 14:45

Hi FG, HM, Shabs, AG, Momma ...

HM your roundups have been brilliant

Gah I was looking fwd to a bit of a break this weekend as the girls have had severe PHS all week (post-holiday syndrome ... want to be cuddled and carried and amused ALL day) but guess what, DH has manflu!!!

lucky they are so cute, cute goes a long way

PazzaPlusTwo · 19/07/2008 14:47

Its 5.22pm in Mallorca...........that means I'm bloody late opening the bar

frumpygrumpysooksgin · 19/07/2008 16:27

Oh, and thank you Mars for setting up the slide projector for me.......I'll be right along with the mountain of selective shots of Jose

iamdingdong · 19/07/2008 16:27

fab round up HM and much appreciated as I haven't really caught up at all this week

FG welcome home, it sounds like a heavenly holiday, have a large jug of sangria to help you get over being home

shabs, it will get better, moving is hellish, but worth it in the end - we last moved when I was 34 weeks pg, I had to go back and clean the rental place, went into labour the next day, so I'll keep my legs fingers crossed that you don't have the same fate

PazzaPlusTwo · 19/07/2008 16:46

I've just found out that the minipill I was on (Cerazette) is renowned for making people depressed/suicidal/aggressive/generally messed up.

So glad I stopped taking it last week. I'd been feeling really low and drained and I couldn't work out why - girls feeding well, sleeping better, being gorgeous, my health OK apart from head in a bad place.

Hormones are s-c-a-r-y things
