Bravo Frumpy, bravo xx

shabster · 04/08/2008 21:32

Thanks Frumpster.

Ems was supposed to be going back to work about November and I was supposed to be having Lew for her. Cant see that happening now. I texted her tonight to ask if she wanted anything doing. She texted back could I do their ironing. She said she has started her period and it is very heavy and theres only Dan and her mum who can help her oh well I guess doing the ironing will at least mean they wont be walking around in the nude!!

shabster · 04/08/2008 21:33

No they didn't have their date I feel like a useless owd trout!!

MERLYPUSS · 04/08/2008 22:11

Shabby - you are NOT a useless old trout. You have a whole heap of stuff going on and yet you still put everyone else first. I think you are fab and would dearly love a MIL like you. Bet you wouldn't take offence if you were told to naff off either. (My MIL would cut the kids out of their inheritance).
Now I sound like a complete cow as she was so thrilled about our DTs and I just wanted her to naff off but had to bite my tongue. I think part of the reason was coz she was getting DTs time that my mum would never get.

triplets · 04/08/2008 22:13

Shabs.............do the ironing, she bless her doesnt know what she wants. Its hard you know these first babies, I think we all picture it as being the most wonderful experience, but my Matthew bless him was trial and error. This has all brought back memories for me of my first 6 weeks as a new mum. We were living in Harrys aunts house, she was in Australia for 6 months, we were waiting to move into here. Matthew was born, still no keys to our house, then Aunt May came back from Australia. After a week she said she couldnt stand the babys crying and asked us to go! My mum had no room as my 4 brothers were still at home, there was Harrys mum with 3 empty bedrooms! I packed everything I could into his silver cross pram and stormed off to my mums crying all the way. She said it wasnt fair of me to want to stay there with Matthew, there wasnt room, that night at 8pm I had to knock on mils door, and that was us for 6 weeks, it was hell!Harry was on the ferries and doing shift work, 12 hour shifts, I had never got on with his mum, there I was left with her for hours. My mum wouldnt come there to see me, so I had to trudge up to her, I was exhausted. I used to feed Matthew at 10pm, then go to bed, he at that time only slept for about 1-2 hours at a time and would scream. One night I had fed him about 10pm, he went off to sleep, Harry was on nights, I fell into my bed and was soon asleep. The next thing I know it was 2.15am and mil was banging hell out of my door, she came in and said, "that baby hasn`t has his 2am feed"! He had slept for 4 hours, first time ever! Of course all the noise woke him up, and he screamed. I went downstairs to get him a feed, and when I got back, she was sitting in my bed holding him with one hand out for the bottle!! I just wanted to run away and scream and cry! Four days later we got the key to this house, we moved in within 3 days. We had a cooker, washing machine, fridge, old table and 2 chairs, a 3/4 size bed, Matthews cot and a rocking chair! That first night, the 23rd Aug 1979, Matthew slept all through the night. The rest as they say is history........................

Hi all-will do a proper catch up in a mo!

HoochieMomma-can you help here?

shabster · 04/08/2008 23:06

....oh shite poo girls my niece Shelley (shes 29) has four children. One of them, little girl called Beth, has Wolf Hirschhorn syndrome. She is mentally and physically handicapped. Beth is about 4. She has been rushed to the local childrens hospital because she has been having a seizure for 3 hours. My niece has had to come home because she is exhausted. They have Beth in intensive care.

Shelley has asked me to go down tomorrow and I will but it is Gareths second home. So Elanor Rigby smile on in the morning and sandwiches and lots of cold drinks to take down for everybody.

Dont usually pray anymore but I will be on my knees tonight for Beth

shabster · 04/08/2008 23:12

Just spoke to Shelley - Beth was taken in yesterday at tea time and she is very poorly - but has been this poorly before. She is in the Royal Pendlebury Childrens Hospital. I know that intensive care is next door to the heart ward. Im hoping that they wont allow me into Intensive care - not sure if I could do it BUT would go in if Shelley wanted me to.

Here's me worrying about getting my bond back and my mail and all kinds of petty crap.

Anybody who believes in the power of prayer can you say one for Beth tonight. xxxxx

snorris · 04/08/2008 23:20

Oh,Shabster . I can never think of the right words to say but thinking of your niece and you.

triplets · 04/08/2008 23:23

Oh Shabs, what next? I will say a special prayer for her poor little mite. You know you can do it, you are always there to help, love you loads xxxx

mummylin2495 · 04/08/2008 23:24

shabs what a lot you have on your plate at the moment, heres hoping that the litle girl will soon be well again.ps take care of yourself besides everyone else !

shabster · 04/08/2008 23:26

Thanks Snorris - Beth has little quality of life, she cant walk, or sit up. I dont think she has very much sight or hearing. BUT she is Shells first little girl born after the two boys and she was longed for. She is adored by her mummy and daddy and 2 brothers and sister. We saw her a few weeks ago at her auntys 21st birthday party - she was watching the lights and was smiling - I love how all her family treat her just the same as the other children.

OMG Please let everything be ok. Dont think there will be much sleep going on in our house tonight.

shabster · 04/08/2008 23:28

Thanks for your thoughts girls xx

triplets · 04/08/2008 23:41

I am here with you in spirit Shabs, lots of positive strong vibes being sent from here xxx

frumpygrumpyhasPMT · 04/08/2008 23:55

Shabs All the best with it, I hope tomorrow brings fresh light for Beth xxx.

I'm sorry everything is up in the air right now. Keep putting one foot in front of the other and keep breathing out. It will come good again. In a bit of time.

Trips, I loved your post. What hell!!!! And how fantastic that Matthew slept through that night! He knew he'd arrived home I know I've probably asked you before, but do you ever feel him around?

triplets · 04/08/2008 23:58

Hi Frumpy,
I never do. Since the day he died in our garden since the last time I looked at him, he was gone from me. The only time I feel anythiing is when I look at Thomas, esp when he is asleep, then its like looking at Matthew, I sometimes just stand by his bed ages watching him.

frumpygrumpyhasPMT · 05/08/2008 00:00

Triplets, thats sweet. Does it help?

triplets · 05/08/2008 00:03

Yes it does, in my heart I want to believe that I have been given Matthew back in a special way. Tom Tom is the image of him, but very different in his nature, Tom Tom is such a character! But its strange because with absolutely no leading Thomas has the same interests as Matthew, esp bugs!

shabster · 05/08/2008 00:05

LOL 'especially bugs!' they do look very alike Trips. xx

frumpygrumpyhasPMT · 05/08/2008 00:06

IMHO, it is merely a body. No reason why Matthew can't be here again inside a slightly different body. I miss him for you.

triplets · 05/08/2008 00:07

Its not every Mum that will allow a pet black slug to sleep with their child, under the duvet, its name was Jeremy!

triplets · 05/08/2008 00:07

Oh FG thats a lovely thing to say xx

frumpygrumpyhasPMT · 05/08/2008 00:09

Jeremy slept under the duvet!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh trips, that is love

frumpygrumpyhasPMT · 05/08/2008 00:10

If you don't mind me saying it.......Jeremy......Gladys........you are a very sociable family aren't you PMSL!!!!

triplets · 05/08/2008 00:12
