TiggerLicious · 18/03/2008 12:30

Shaby shabs!!! Why does it seem like a year since I've spoken to you What the hells that about? tell the Tomster I am still waiting for the eggs to hatch and once they do he will be getting a surprise back

PIXIMON I have an idea that might help you practically.
My lovely friend is the chairlady of our local Doctors (the one by your ds's school). they run a group called The friends of......most surgeries here have them. Its a group of women who are there to help with every day stuff. Getting you to and from places, helping you get out and about, providing transport, shopping etc.
They go above and beyond their means and are a great bunch of ladies. I had loads of offers of help when mine were little and even now. If you like I could set you up with them? They would love to give you a hand.
Also have you rung the SureStart centre in Beacon Heath?
Again the woman there are wonderful.
The best help I got? The Family Centre in Chestnut Av. Part of Chestnut Av. nursery. Very good for supporting the whole family(in and out of hours) very understanding. They have councelling sessions, childcare (outside of the nursey) groups that you can take the whole family too. I would have been lost without them. They put the triplets into full time nursery for me when they had just turned three. God Send!!!!
Now that centre is just before the dreaded Burnt House Lane, but don't let that put you off, they do a great job I have lots of friends who work there and their ofsted report is always top marks. Again if you are not sure how to get a place there I can ring one of my friends who work there. They could arrange you all sorts when the baby comes along.x.

As to my day..

woken by telephone call. My twin mum to be's waters broke (slow leak). She's now having contractions so I could be off at any time.

Meanwhile: I have made a traybake for my antenatal group (which my partner will pick up), printed off all the handouts for said group. Made soup for DD2 who is still under the weather. Been to the shops. Now need to pack my bag in case I have to go. Arrange childcare until husband gets back. Finish paperwork. You never know... I may even have time to study.... but hey.... just another day.

Pixi good suggestions from Tigger. The word that you're looking for is YES! Oogs Great news about the school. The DTs have officially got their place at DD2's primary school. I had a dream where only one got in Now I can put that dream to rest.

Got a french man coming to stay in April - August.

Lots still to do. Will check back to see if any news on Triplets. Those with my number text me if I've gone.

to all that are under the weather, sick etc... I wish you well.

Dyslexic son, athritus, Poor Harry, what next do you think? Happy a/v Shabs????

shabster · 18/03/2008 15:02

trips - just singing for you 'things can only get better, they can only get, they can only get better.' OR 'I get knocked down but I get up again, cause you're never gonna keep me down.'

Google 'famous people with dyslexia' I dont know how to do a piggin link!! I just did it and your Tom and my Matt are in good company!! Cher, the Fonz, Muhammed Ali etc etc - is your Tom left or right handed? Just a weird question to see if he matches with my Matt.

We will creak and crack together my love. Us two owd trouts - we will be just fine.

shabster · 18/03/2008 15:03

HarrogateMum · 18/03/2008 15:04

Hi Trips and Shabs, sorry to hear you are peed off Triplets. What does the diagnosis actually mean for you? Sorry if I'm being ignorant, only have a vague understanding of arthritis.

And Shabs, sorry I didnt realise it was your anniversary - will you be celebrating with a small apple juice later?

shabster · 18/03/2008 15:06

Probably love - but H (notice he didn't get a D in front of that) has a pool match tonight and can't miss it because its a final Think I may come on tonight and have a bit of a conga or birdy dance

30 sodding years -

Neenzandhertwinbeans · 18/03/2008 15:09

Hi everyone - advice needed! I am really keen to have a natural birth. I have been reading Ina May and Lamaze, hypnobirthing etc and feel really positive about it all. My consultant agreed that I could have heart monitoring using a hand-held sonicaid and even though he recomended an epidural (in case the second twin is breech) he said I only needed to have the line put in 'just in case' and didn't have to have the drugs administered unless I wanted it/needed it.

But then I went to the labour ward for a tour on Sunday and spoke to another obs and a midwife and they said no way - the obs said I would def by continuously monitored if she was attending my birth and then she said if there was only a registrar on duty who couldn't do breech birth I'd have to have a c-section! I don't think that is good enough at all.

I am OK with the monitoring, I know I can insist on the hand-held device (I will get the consultant to write it all in my notes and sign off my birth plan) and feel confident that I won't let anyone bully me into something I don't want, and I will ask for a guarantee that there will definitely be someone there or on call who can do breech delivery (or i am changing my hospital)

My question is: do you think I am asking too much to want a natural birth? Did you all find that your births were medically managed? Did anyone manage to do it all without intervention? Should I just accept that I am going to be medically managed?

TiggerLicious · 18/03/2008 15:19

Ruby, we call Brandon Al Bundy as he always has his hands down the front of his pants

Shabs!!!! HAPPY ANNIVERSERY!!!!!

LOL have you seen my new thread,if anyone needs me I am no longer at the 'sanctuary' I am now at The Village Hall snigger

Triplets: sending you big hugs.x.

Mars....I never knew that you were married I don't know why!!!!!!

Neen I can't help you at all I'm afraid,my only experience of childbirth is being asleep

Cooeeeeeee!!!!

Momma, what the hell was it? I'm imagining all sorts, best thing I can come up with......no I can't. But DH did once take some painkillers, sneezed ten minutes later and one of them shot out of his nose half dissolved?!!!!!!!

shabster · 18/03/2008 15:21

Hi Twinbeans - I had pre eclampsia when I was having my twins - so I had no other choice than to have an epidural. I did deliver them both naturally other than the epidural. I am useless at this aren't I?? Im blaming my lack of knowledge on the fact that my DT's were born in 1981!! Mars or Momma will definitly know.
