Neenz: Email me honeysuckle. What you want is a copy of the hospital's policy on twin birth.

Then you need to email me.

Currently waiting for a call to go off to my twin mum, currently in labour, so might not get it off to you today.

Fret not it will come good.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY SHABBY!!!!!!!! If I'm around (or even if I'm not 'cos I know how you lot stay...sulk) we'll have your anniversary party right here!

MarsLady · 18/03/2008 15:32

Rubyrubyruby.... love you babe but sometimes they are a wee bit wrong! However, informed choice is the key and medical advice is not to be sniffed at.

Basically... sometimes it's about hospital policy as to opposed to what is best for mum and her babies.

shabster · 18/03/2008 15:51

Tigs will you stay in one place for a couple of minutes - she's faster than Newton and Ridley - our two whippets

well the consultant visited gran this afternoon and she is coming home!!! Really shocked actually, because it all seems very sudden. It was only yest afternoon that she got moved to the stroke unit. She has to go and see the dr about the results and aftercare. It's prob the best thing for her though, there is someone always there, so she will be looked after, and they can make her her own food and stuff and she can sit and read and listen to her music.

it is sooo cold out. We're all still thawing out. They didn't even do the stunt jumps into water at legoland cos it is too cold.

shabster · 18/03/2008 16:05

Chopster - wow our gran is coming home. OMG I know what you mean about sudden! Also agree with you about her enjoying being at home.

MarsLady · 18/03/2008 16:37

Fab news Chops!

Right ladies... the call has come.

Don't forget to take the chicken wings out of the oven for the party later. There's a large iced LDC and triple chocolate cake waiting with candles. Have put the extinguisher nearby!

triplets · 18/03/2008 16:52

What time do you want us round Mars, I could do with a night out! Feel in need of a hot bath, be spoilt rotten with pampering, and something to empty my head which is buzzing! Hips are killing me today, Im too young to be like this...........arent I? Shabs might need to get a ticket to Faliraki in June, need some warmth on these ere bones! Anyone else out there know about dyslexia? My Thomas is right handed Shabby.

shabster · 18/03/2008 16:55

well that blew my theory out of the window trips! Matt was left handed!! If you google dyslexia trips - there is tons of info about it - listing famous people, help for your child etc etc. I got quite giddy for your Tom when I was reading it - none of it seemed gloomy in any way. Have a nosey sweetheart.

I also had a thought about Faliraki in June for you!! Think that pole dancing would be good for loosening up the joints.

frumpygrumpy · 18/03/2008 17:18

Triplets, I am kind of sorry to hear your news......but actually I'm quite pleased because there is lots that can help. I am a big fan of complementary stuff too (not alternative but to complement the medicinal stuff). I am currently trying out a complementary thing meant for joints.....not for my joints but for my skin as it is meant to help that as a sideline. Haven't noticed any difference at all but I'm a believer in trying everything once

As for dyslexia.....I personally know nothing but, as Shabs says, I do know lots of very clever people have it. You could do a thread under health and I bet loads of mums on here will guide you well.

Neenz, I did have contstant monitoring throughout my DTs labour and I did have an epidural (one was breech). I also had a lovely birth ( vaginally) I personally would push for someone experienced (and welcoming)in breech births because I would have hated to have a CS just because of inexperience. In short, I would take their advice seriously as twin births do carry a little more risk but I would also remain as you are, with an open mind. Keep pushing.

Pixi, how's the day?

Tigs, lovely idea. I actually had some SureStart help when I had DD and I thought I was losing my mind. Great folks. BTW I did lose mind haven't missed it much.

Shabs, congratulations my love!!! 30 years! What are you doing this evening? Shall I bring fish fingers to the party (dingdong will hate that I stole her canape idea but its such a good one )

I have had a very poor day. It will get better when midnight rolls around. Just hanging on for that.

frumpygrumpy · 18/03/2008 17:19

Mars, are you at a twin birth? That sounds great, I'd love to see one from the other end

It is official - I now live with an old man! DH slipped two disks in his back about 4 years ago - he now has curvature of the spine and loads of pain with it - all that I can cope with.

Today - Bolton at Home (yes I know odd name but thats what they are called) brought a thing that goes up and down in the bath, a surround for the loo, a sock puller upper and a pull you out of bedder!! Very technical, medical terms.

He was talking about getting one of the biddie bungalows over the road from us till I pointed out they only have one bedroom and where the hell would tomster sleep. This morning he was talking about SAGA holidays till I, again, pointed out they dont have free child places. I AM ONLY 17 I didnt mean those marriage vows about 'sickness and health '

He has also started tutting and blowing at teenagers - even well behaved ones.

I NEED a young lad - about 30 without ex wives or children - any ideas

PazzaPlusTwo · 18/03/2008 19:29

Shabster FFS why didn't you say that yesterday when my adorable single Spanish friend Angel was over, fresh back from 3 months kite surfing in Vietnam and looking for love??!

shabster · 18/03/2008 19:34

Pazz - need more information if only to drool over - a photo perhaps

PazzaPlusTwo · 18/03/2008 19:36

Neenz hello from t'other thread! Mars will sort you out.

Trips - I have lots of friends with dyslexia of different types, it seems to be quite common among architects and other 'creatives'.

Am not feeling creative today. Back is sore ... too long on sofa but no energy to get up ... sign me up for that therapeutic poledancing later in the year please.

shabster · 18/03/2008 19:39

How come some folk go to Vietnam kite surfing and I love bar street in Faliraki??? Think I'm a bit of a 'rough owd bird' Dont tell me Paz very tall, quite long dark hair, eyes the same colour as mud puddles (thanks to frumpster for that description) oohh if he has a large nose (not Barry Manilow size - just large) then I can feel a hot flush coming on.

Im quite liking the James Blunt man at the moment, except for when he speaks - too posh by far!!
