Triplets.....take FG's advice...she is far more savvy than me and I always bug my Dr...and quite frankly have no shame in doing so .

HarrogateMum · 14/03/2008 15:55

Sorry to change the subject - but does anyone have any experience of this gall bladder thing that I may have, i.e. gallstones? The doc told me I fit the pattern, female and fertile.........which applies to you lot also! If not, dont worry I will start a thread in HEalth, but I dont like to stray away from this thread, its cosy and homely, and its SCARY out there!!

probably the safer option HM

TiggerRiffick · 14/03/2008 16:15

this might help until you can brave it

TiggerRiffick · 14/03/2008 16:21

Where is Shabs by the way? I know its chippy night but surely they haven't left yet?

MarsLady · 14/03/2008 16:24

I need to cook tea but you lot have made me laugh SO much that I'm physically incapable of peeling the potatoes for the fish pie!

HarrogateMum · 14/03/2008 17:02

oooh Mars I'm doing fish pie too. Delia's tried and trusted version with the hard boiled eggs and capers.

MarsLady · 14/03/2008 17:04

I'm doing the Mars tried and tested... white fish, smoked fish, shrimps/prawns, white sauce, mashed potatoes and cheese!

I would love a link to the recipe that you're using though.

Oh and HM............ Be brave! Get out there.

MarsLady · 14/03/2008 17:05

for shabby

PazzaPlusTwo · 14/03/2008 17:11

Fish pie! This is the one I use:

cook.dannemann.org.uk/cooking/mains/fishpie/

With photos too! So simple even I can do it.

Apparently poaching the fish in CIDER is even better.

My veggie peeler only gets used for shaving parmesan. I just scrub my pots, boil/microwave em and whizz em up in the blender for a sec to break up the skins which I leave in for a bit o texture. Or just mash em up with the skins on.

MarsLady · 14/03/2008 17:12

ooh... now I might try the poaching in cider next week. Yum!

PazzaPlusTwo · 14/03/2008 17:16

Another 'looks way harder than it is' dish I recently discovered is quiche. Get the ready-rolled shortcrust in Tescos and fill with various veggies, slop eggs/cream/cheese mix over the top, whack it in the oven, bingo.

Both recipes include a 20-mins-on-sofa-with-glass-of-wine opportunity. What's not to love?!

PazzaPlusTwo · 14/03/2008 17:18

I particularly like the way there is a photo of some peas boiling in a pan, and one of the timer. Clearly these people are on my level when it comes to cooking. Which is 'Level -3: burnt cornflakes'

well ya know I'm gifted in other ways

...

i think

frumpygrumpy · 14/03/2008 17:19

Is Mars' at home? Cooking? Fae the weans? At home? Well.......... Stay awhile

Guess what?

I have asked a nursery girl to babysit for a couple of hours on Sunday and I am going to my favourite cafe with DP and we are going to eat giant fry ups and read the papers and I hope neither of us will talk a bit or make any sound whatsoever and if I need a wee there is not a hope in hell I am going, I will just hold on and hold on and make every moment count and I might eat 2 fry ups by myself and that is it really except to say that there is every chance it won't happen because DP is thinking that he might have the vomitting bug.......
