I love the sound of Kate Meluas voice, but I havent listened to her album.

I love that chasing pavements song at the moment. My favs are the mighty Robbie, shakira (reminds me of hols in greece) I like interesting girl singers - not keen on the britney, kylie stuff.

My DS wonderful partner is 24 wks pg with my first grandchild - so giddy - and, I expect really repeating myself on MSNet.

shabster · 19/02/2008 23:26

I just got fed up and wandered into the rear courtyard (sounds better than back yard) and had a sneaky cig. Its freezing your nuts off weather out there. Looked at the full moon and had a quick werewolf howl. Wandered back in and galaxy came and went.

shabster · 19/02/2008 23:29

phew phew phew phew (think thats how you spell a whistle) phew phew phew phew. twiddle my thumbs.

I am mad. I am on a multiple births thread with mums of ickle multiples and I think they are going to be on here. Wish i had ickle multiples - maybe on thinking about it - dont think I would cope!!!!!!!

Morning everyone - it is SNOWING in Lancashire! DS will be sooooo pleased. Me?-just contemplating the 1 mile walk to school up the hill

DS is in his school assembly this morning. Theme - Greek mythology (no Ive no idea what that has to do with anything religious) he is taking my elderly neighbours white sheet for a toga! BUT insists on white tshirt and shorts under 'just in case Mum my sheet comes off.'

Told him I will take my bottle of ouzo and some feta cheese and put on my tshirt - Falaraki rocks, I've survived Bar Street. His reaction 'dont even think about it mother.'

snorris · 20/02/2008 07:51

Morning!

Snow all we've got is frost!

I'm feeling well and truly chilled after my reflexology last night . Got a few aches where things are sorting themselves out but my hip is so much better. Going to have an easy day in and let the girls make cakes (only a packet mix ).

shabster · 20/02/2008 07:54

morning snorris me old mucker

Snow yes pigging snow - not quite white christmas movie pretend snow. BUT pigging snow.

Supposed to be doing big shop today as well!

chopster · 20/02/2008 08:19

wow it is busy here.

Overun, you def need to be a bit easier on yourself! Sains do really cheap pants, so when you thing he is ready to try again, buy a big pack and throw them, don't wash them! Don't feel bad about the food neither, I've bought in loads of crap this week jsut to see us through half term. Mine had chicken dippers last night!

SNOW?! God I wish it would snow here, that would be nice free entertainment for the kids. It really foggy here, so our planned trip to the science center and the forest isn't looking promising. Prob end up at soft play again.

I need recommendation for school shoes for dd. All girls school shoes are now those flipping ballet pump things which are realyl flimsy. Dd goes through them so quickly. I don't really want to pay clarks prices. Have tried M&S - too narrow, adams looked sturdy but ds went through the bottom in 4 weeks, so not going there. Any ideas?

I forgot to put a nappy on dt1 last night for bed. I'm very impressed that he was only slightly damp when I got him up, and the cot was dry. Debating whether to let him go without tonight.

Leoloopydoo · 20/02/2008 08:59

Toby and Leo turned a whole one year old today! !

I made it through the first year and still smiling.......!

Overrun · 20/02/2008 10:03

Congratulations Leo, hate to tell you that that was the easy part Only joking Its amazing how you look back at earlier stages which you find really hard at the time, and then long for simpler times
Thanks for the stiff drink Momma, took you up on your offer and then was slurring my words in my welsh class
Chopster, I will indeed get some cheap pants, but if I had a penny for the number of times some one recommends getting some pants in the favourite character, I would be rich. They are always delighted and then promptly crap in them Those are too expensive to throw out all the time, but hey ho.
They are currently in their room with the door closed, playing scooby doo. Is this really mean of me? They are perfectly happy, and safe. I usually take 20 most days and let them get on with it, but wonder if its a bit mean to lock them in? They can't open the door from the inside.
Lucky Shabster, we have had no snow to speak of here either last year or this. It would be lovely to make a "dyn eira" with the children

shabster · 20/02/2008 10:07

Its freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezing here! Just got back from assembly - OMG the girls (10 and 11 yrs) acting their bums off - was like watching Eastenders and the boys shuffling and giggling - I lurve boys

My DS in next doors double white sheet - of course was brilliant!!! He was the only child who before I left the school, ran over and gave me a kiss! One day he will be a grumpy, smelly, teenager so I am making the most of it now.

Leo - Happy, happy birthday to Toby and Leo (lovley names btw) very envious of you - twins are so special.

chopster · 20/02/2008 10:14

if it works, go for it. If they werent happy they would let you know, and the time out is prob good for them.

yep, we had the poo in the 'Hireman Sammm' pants that ds1 demanded after being dry for two days. He was so stubborn, it just ended up a battle of wills.

I often long for those easy newborn days, when they sleep most of the day, and can't run around destroying the house. Wouldn't want the sleepless nights though!

chopster · 20/02/2008 10:14

got all nostalgic and forgot to say, happy birthday! what are you doing for hte day?

largeginandtonic · 20/02/2008 10:17

Oh there is sooo much to catch up on, what has happened?

I am still stuck in, dh and the baby still poxed but feeling ok now. Still contagious though so unable to leave the house. The other dc are all away with their Dad this week so it is quiet here. I ma pretty sure that Hug's will get the pox as he comes back (saturday) or early next week I am on my 4th week in.... this is a major drawback to having so many children!

I have had a BFN test this weekend as AF was quite late. Of course it arrived 2 days later i am quite pleased really though as the twins birthday is October and 2 birthdays in one month is enough!

How is everyone? Someone update me pleeeeeease Hope Mars is ok.

shabster · 20/02/2008 10:17

Morning chops - you okey dokey?

largeginandtonic · 20/02/2008 10:17

Oh Leo HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your gorgeous twosome!

shabster · 20/02/2008 10:20

morning g&t - You spotty lot - the joy of being a parent?

Snow in Lancashire - if I had any my nuts would have fell off just outside DS school when they reached the peak of frozeness (dont think that's a word)

You ok love?

oooggs · 20/02/2008 10:41

wow leo - thats gone fast, or has it??????

LG&T - hope things improve soon - not nice being stuck in

haven't caught up anything else yet

oooggs · 20/02/2008 10:42

oh and Happy Birthday Toby & Leo

snorris · 20/02/2008 10:58

Happy Birthday to Toby and Leo.

Isn't it funny how birthdays can cluster together? In my family we have loads at the end of June/beginning of July (MIL,dsis,dt's,dh,dd1,my dad and my grandma) and then again in September (dnephew, uncle, cousin, auntie,me and dbrother).

Lg&t-hope you can get out and about soon. I hate being stuck in the house for any length of time.

Right, cakes are cooked-just waiting for them to cool and the girls can ice them.

estar · 20/02/2008 12:13

Hiya all.

Shabs, it is only snowing in some parts of Lancashire - here by the sea we only get freezing cold temperature and high gales

Happy birthday to the mini-loopies .

LargeG&T, I think I would just take them out anyway - its not like a sickness and diarrhoea bug - most parents want their children to get the pox when they're little. Or is that just me?

I have also been doing 'cooking' this morning, but I have to divide and conquer in order to do it unstressfully, so it was ds1's turn this morning - we now have electric blue Spiderman cakes to work our way through today before moving onto dt1's dinosaur cookies tomorrow .

Leoloopydoo · 20/02/2008 12:19

Thanks all !

....and thank you to all of you who gave me so much support and advice during the pregnancy and early days. Hope I can eventually get back on here more often and pass more of it on!

I'm at work now, but just about to shut down, go home, get birthday cake on the way. Dh is home with them all today so it will be a family afternoon.

Saturday is Ds1's birthday (yep agree the clustering happened with us) so we are doing a party for all 3 on Sunday (he'll be 3 so not bothered about sharing his birthday I don't think).

Oooogs, yes its gone really quickly, I still think of them as being about 7 months old!
