Pixi as long as you're sure . What time suits you?

Shabster-dd4 has a condition called pulmonary atresia with VSD. It means the artery/valve that take blood to the lungs is non-existant and she has a hole between the two pumping chambers. Her lung arteries are very small too. She's had three operations to put shunts in plus numerous cardiac catheters (done under GA). She's been in and out of PICU far too many times for a little girl and last summer we were told she wouldn't make it . However, she is still here and a feisty little madam too . Sorry for the essay,I don't mind talking about her condition if people ask .

shabster · 19/02/2008 15:27

hiya snorris - I think I understand about your daughters heart problem!! It always interests me (yes I am an odd bod). It must have been very difficult when Doctors gave you awful news like that last year - have you heard me 'difficult' - dont know the words for those emotions. I love feisty kids - they can get through anything! My friends little boy has fanconi anemia. As she always explains it - much worse than lukemia - then says 'I wish it was just lukemia' About a year ago he was given his sisters cord blood and for the moment seems to be doing well. He is the fiestiest kid I have ever, ever met - makes you wonder dosen't it?

TripleyTigger · 19/02/2008 15:47

Oh Pixi i soooooo wish that I had learnt to drive. Getting out to you is a blinkin difficult at the moment. Hopefully you will get this house and we will all be that little bit closer and able to help you out more.

Remember my offer still stands, even if you and DH want to do house hunting at the weekend (hopefully you have found the right house for you though).

You are doing so many things at once Pixi, you are bound to get down. I have only been trapped in with my Dx3 for 2 days (DH is doing 7am-7pm shifts) and I can already start to feel the begining of 'bonkers' coming on .

Let me know if there is anything that I can do.x.

TripleyTigger · 19/02/2008 15:48

Shabster, love your FB picture by the way

piximon · 19/02/2008 15:54

snorris your DD4 is adorable. My mum was really for not realising she was poorly, she just thought she was feeling cold from playing out. DH was about her heart problems as while we were chatting he'd been supervising her on the slide and trampoline. He said she loved the slide. I think it's a really good sign that no one could tell how fragile she is.

I took Chops advice and pottered out for a bit. Was all going well till an old lady passing us said the dreaded "you've got your hands full". I just smiled and ignored her so she leaned in closer and said it again slower and louder. My sleep deprived brain couldn't come up with anything witty to reply.

piximon · 19/02/2008 16:00

Thanks Tigger. How are your little clutch doing? Seems like ages since I last spoke to you.

The bus service here isn't bad, but I've yet to come to terms with bus fares outside London. I'm used to travelling for £1 a journey (well technically free for the past year as I had a council pass due to my SPD). But out here it costs nearly £5 return. Am also used to children travelling for free in London, not sure what the rules are out here.

shabster · 19/02/2008 16:52

Ttigger - glad you like the photo - a girl just cant be fifty quietly can she??

I look like my dad in drag on it

Hey! just checking in to say hi to all you amazing multiple mums. I am now nearly 26 weeks PG with my twins now and getting very excited! I had a bit of a meltdown a few weeks ago when i thought there was four months to go and then realised it was more like three and that really sh*t me up! But now I can't wait for them to arrive.

I haven't had much time to post here but promise I will try to keep up with everyone.

Will need all your help soon enough!

Well done Egg on your arrivals. If you can still post on MN you must be doing OK!

HarrogateMum · 19/02/2008 17:35

ah NH - you made it!! Good to see you over her, dont run away!! Remind me - do you know what flavour twins you are having?

Overrun · 19/02/2008 17:39

Hi all,
Well another day of half term for most of you, nearly half way through
Thanks for supportive comments as regards to putting dt1 back in a nappy. He asked not to go in one this morning so dh let him put pants on, by 9.40 we had a really messy pooh situation. I actually ended up throwing he pants out, and normally I do wash them
Had some good news today ds1 passed his hearing test and his glue ear is much better.
He is going to be seen in 6 months, and if he is still okay, then he will be discharged. Which is good, as dt1 is due for an appt with ENT soon, so glad that I wont have to take both of them
Dc's are watching tv, about to put chips and fish fingers in the oven, not quite the way I like things, but I feel much less stressed today. So maybe I should do it more often
Am dreading going back to my welsh evening class though

momma - know Im not meeting up tomorrow but I lurvve chocolate eclairs

twinbeans - hiya - HOW EXCITING!! This is a comfy place to be - stay with us.

Mums are lucky nowadays - finding out about multiples early on - I found out 10 days before I had mine - delivered at 38 weeks - but was still in shock!!

oooggs · 19/02/2008 20:08

pixi - hope you are managing to get some rest, I know it is probably unlikely

next time you Exeter lot are meeting I will try & venture up

right bedtime, feed Erin in nursery on her own will ds1 & Jack (in highchair) in front room (next door). Then feed Jack in nursery, then stories in bed for James - has worked two nights in a row.

frumpygrumpy · 19/02/2008 20:18

I'm currently catching up and wanted to post before dinner is ready and I have to run...........hello.......back properly tomorrow if not later.......

Its not the same when we're missing people. Triplets, Mars, Kelly (where's Kelly!!!). I don't know. Like there's another life out there or something

oooggs · 19/02/2008 21:16

twin survey

tkband3 · 19/02/2008 22:13

On my way to bed, so no time for a long post. Woke up for a pee at 3am, brain clicked on and lay awake for ages organising things . Then DT2 woke up needing a poo at 4.45, brain clicked on again and felt like I didn't sleep again (although DP says I did ).

Nothing to what you're going through though Pixi and I just wanted to post to send you sympathy. I'm afraid I have no concrete advice on sleep - I ended up using a sleep consultant on my DTs, when I finally got fed up with only getting 3 hours a night. If you'd like her number, I'll gladly pass it on, but I know she's put her rates up and is now quite pricey (was quite cheap when I used her). She's written a book though this is it. Not read it, but her methods worked for us.

Starting to panic a little now - no real reason, but wondering what I haven't done . DT1's constant moaning is driving me up the wall - can't work out if she's actually ill or if she's just whining because she hasn't got her dummy. What's worse at the wedding - a child with a dummy or constant whinging?

Anyway, I said not a long post...nighty night everyone. (3 days to go )

shabster · 19/02/2008 22:47

GOOD EVENING GOOD EVENING.

'come on hold my hand - I want to contact the living'

Trips - 'can you hear me now' - no I know she cant but it was worth a try. Dotster (my mum) always said I could whisper across three fields.

shabster · 19/02/2008 22:48
