Congratulations Kat! Girl and boy combi just like I have (and secretly my favourite but shhh don't tell anyone!).

Thanks for the replies girls, feeling a little better today. Whole combination of things has got so bad I told DH if his mum isn't working maybe she should come down here to help me out (we don't really get on, don't think she even knows there's another one due).

DS1 is being so badly behaved at the moment that he didn't even get this week in London like DD1 had last week. I know all this uncertainty must be rubbing off on him but don't really know how to handle him at the moment. He just can't seem to control his temper, is bullying the others and shouting/back chatting/screaming for much of the day. I'm sure he'll be much better when I can finally get him into school and he isn't stuck indoors all day.

DD1 currently driving around the lounge on DTs trike with a scarf (fashioned out of DT2's jumper) around her head to keep it warm happy as anything. DT1 started taking little Frankenstein steps last week, DT2 still unable to stand himself up.

Oh Pixi it is so hard being all alone with all the children. Do you remember last year when my dh was away? He left sept 06 just a month after we had moved to a new county and was not home until Xmas for 2 weeks then gone again till middle of Feb. I just had to do it, soon though i started to fall in to a routine. If you are on your own then you know it is just you who has to do it all, there is no waiting (and being disappointed) for them to do something.

It did take a while and was incredibly hard, but i really did get used to it. When he was home again we were stepping on each others toes! Just take each day at a time We are all here for you.

Hello!
Congratulations Kat-look forward to seeing pics .

Barring any incidents,I still intend to invade Devon on Saturday . I'm looking forward to it as dh works on a Saturday and I don't normally do much then. Hopefully I shall find my way there,dd1 is chief navigator so I can always blame her .

Oh Pixi I have no wise words for you, just sympathy and admiration. DP was away for a few days a couple of weeks ago and I found that hard, so no idea how you manage with it long term. I hope things start to get easier once you have found a house, your mum has come down and DS1 is at school. In the meantime, just sending some heartfelt ((((hugs)))).

Mars, hugs from me to FG as well please. Hope she is back here soon.

Momma, I have bought some of that pancake mix already, and had planned to give it a go tomorrow . Although I did manage to make some quite decent pancakes using gluten-free flour last year. DD1 has a class after school on Thursday and she's told me they're going to have pancakes, so I might try to make one for her to take with her then.

Chops, I'm sure DT2's hair will grow back quicker than you think. I cut DD1's fringe last night and it's definitely a bit crooked, but I wouldn't dare try to cut all her hair. She's growing it at the moment - girls always want long hair don't they? I was never allowed and used to spend ages with jumpers on my head tied back with elastic bands, pretending they were pony tails .

Had a lovely day with the girls yesterday at Willow Farm, near St Albans. If you haven't been, it's well worth a trip, although it is quite pricey (definitely take a picnic). DP was shopping for his wedding suit - he spent 5 hours in Selfridges .

Kat, congratulations on the arrival of Cameron and Kasey. Well done you on what sounds like a great birth .

LG&T, how's your poorly one? (Sorry can't remember which of your DS's is poorly, and can't scroll back far enough to check). Hope he's feeling a bit better and there are no signs of it in anyone else yet.

Hello everyone! My boy lost his voice for a week after christmas, Momma. It was like that painting, The Scream, he'd open his mouth to cry and nothing would come out but a hissing sound. It was fab! Baby with sound turned down. Unfortunately all good things come to an end. Woops, better go, can hear him now!

accordiongirl · 04/02/2008 19:28

And it's got to be nutella with pancakes - as advertised on Mumsnet!

accordiongirl · 04/02/2008 19:30

Oh and I remember those early days, crying when he'd leave the house to go to work. My sympathies for your situation, mine works abroad about one week a month - at one time it was every fortnight. Its bloody hard. x

accordiongirl · 04/02/2008 19:30

Triplets, I had a spy book when I was about ten, with loads of secret codes and mystery stories to solve, bet you could find a book or even a little pack with stuff in if you go onto Amazon and search 'spy' in the children's section. I loved it and it really got my imagination going - made me feel all Secret Seven-y.

triplets · 04/02/2008 23:57

Night night Momma..........sweet dreams....
ps.where`s my nuts tonight?

shabster · 04/02/2008 23:58

TRIPLETS MY LOVLEY MATE....I found you - in the shag pile bit!! You - my friend - are just getting giddy - three nights in a row you are going to be out, beyond the confines of your posh southern jessie house. I, in my proper Northern way, have been round to my mates, just to walk the whippets, and have a bottle of pale ale and mourn our Vera, Jack is proper upset.

shabster · 05/02/2008 00:00

triplets - if you dont know where your nuts are I certainly dont. You vagabond. Have you noticed other mumsnetters how silly I have become because I actually know someone on this thread!
