He had an accident after bfast so I chickened out in the end and put him in a pull up - will put him back in pants when he gets home.

Leaving out the fruit later in the day worked!!! He still hasn't been actually, and now I feel a bit bad.

MarsLady · 25/01/2008 11:42

Pazza... go to the gp and get something on prescription.

Am so glad I'm beyond the potty training thing. My DTs have occasional night time accidents. It's taken a fair while to get them dry at nights. I have no idea why. DT2 has now got a rather gross habit. I need to ask him if he's going to have a poo because what he's currently doing is trying to stop it coming out with toilet tissue or wiping it as it emerges! Not pleasant I can tell you.

Shouldn't be here. Have some study to do (but have booked St Lucia so very happy!)

eww, mars! Rav def has poo issues, I'm not letting him see that idea!

I'm am Not Pleased with the pre school. I put him in the pull up in the end, asked them to take him, and they didn't bother! Monday he is going in pants, and if they don't take him they can clean up the accidents!

MarsLady · 25/01/2008 16:03

help needed here ladies

Now what should I do? DT1 tells me she's going to die if she doesn't have some hot milk now! Hmmmmmmmmmm............ I hadn't realised the importance of the life-saving properties of hot milk. Apparently the same thing happens with raisins... and I quote "if I don't have hot milk/raisins I will die and will never see you again. Sigh.............

Toddlers! Can't eat 'em, can't give 'em away!

Now she's throwing toys. Will be back!

largeginandtonic · 25/01/2008 16:04

Too busy to post but thinking of all you lovely ladies!

BTW the yoghurt does work for me and the tampon is the way i have done it You can send DH in to the chemist (if he doesnt mind) and they will give it to him. I have done that before too. The pharmacist will say it needs to prescribed by a GP while pregnant, some doctors are good and will arrange a pescription through the doc without seeing you. It usually takes 24 hours though so yoghurt in the meantime Nice...

Yay I have a new home for next month and a choice of two schools for DS1 to start after half term (Ladysmith or St Michael's).

My mum went for an interview at RD&E hospital on Weds and has got the job so she's happy and will now have to move down here next month, (pity it's full time as she won't get to help out as much with the DCs).

Having my first really good day since leaving London Xmas Grin

Can now enjoy tomorrow before DH and my mum abandon me to return to London on Sunday. Then it's back to carting DTs up and down the stairs and changing all the nappies for me

HarrogateMum · 25/01/2008 19:26

great news Pixi!! Bet you are so pleased. Whats the new place like?

piximon · 25/01/2008 19:28

I can't get the xmas smileys out of my head lol, show how out of touch I am with everything on here.

Leoloopydoo · 25/01/2008 19:33

Chopster, when we were potty training ds1 we found it just confused him if he went to nursery in nappies and had none at home, everytime he was at home we had to start the whole process again. Send him with several changes of clothes and ask them to keep checking if he wants to go. Make sure you tell him exactly who he has to ask if he needs to go.

Ds1 is still in nighttime pullups. I think he only pees in it because he knows he can and keep considering just taking it off, once he has peed in the bed a couple of times I think he will stop, we can chuck the matress out and get a new one once he is dry. Trouble is his nightime comforter is water in a bottle....!

Mars, thanks for sharing you dt2 pleasant habit, yueeeek!

FG, how are you doing? Feeling sorry for myself as we've had 3 really bad nights on the run with the dts and I'm feeling terrible, MN always reminds you that it could be worse and puts things into perspective doesn't it!

Saw a friends most gorgeous, sweet, beautiful, lovely little girl today and had huge surging feeling of 'I want one' ! I'm sure if we had another we would get twin boys again though!

Chopster - great yarmouth, knew it well. I was brought up in Smallburgh, North Walsham and Wroxham. Went to school in Norwich though.

Fantastic news Pixi! Is it big enough for visitors? Won't make it to you at the beginning of Feb. Sigh........ Really wanted to but there are some school functions that I want to go to (I barely show my face at their schools anymore) and the DTs have a birthday party to go to. If I don't take them the mum'll take umbrage. Double sigh................

oooggs · 25/01/2008 19:38

leo- I know exactly what you are going through with nights - I'm knackered and stressed. It is so hard at the moment from bedtime and getting them asleep until the morning (well still middle of the night in my book).

I am currently finding putting 3 to bed on my own really hard and ds1 suffers when I have to keep sorting them out when they should be asleep.

I am going to bed earlier and earlier to try and survive (I am crap when tired at night).

pixi - great news!!!!! and welcome to the West Country

piximon · 25/01/2008 19:39

HM place is ok, best of all the ones we'd seen and cheaper than some. Three double bedrooms, smallish lounge/diner, titchy kitchen, downstairs bathroom, virtually no garden. But one of the schools is just across the road, there's a paper shop nearby, the city centre (and hospital) isn't too far and a big old cemetry round the back to explore on sunny days. Contract for 6mths starting mid Feb.

Hopefully the London houses will sell quickly and we can start looking for something to buy. I've fallen in love with Broadhembury but it's prob out of my budget. Will also have to start driving lessons once this little one is born and settled as I really would prefer to be further out in the countryside.

wow pixi how do you manage? any tips? and you are pg!! I shouldn't complain - with this baby make 5 under 5? sorry about the questions but after the mc my mind has toying with no.4 and your children are of similar ages to mine (well 3 of them!!)

Leoloopydoo · 25/01/2008 19:49

Pixi, fantastic!!!!!!!

Ooogs, I hate putting all 3 to bed on my own as well (do you have to do it every night?), ds1 gets completely neglected until the dts are asleep and will jump on the bed and generally be as loud and annoying as possible so the dts don't feed properly... It takes time to put the dts to bed but once they are tucked up the are usually ok for a while. Its just the waking up in the night thats bad. However, its just after full moon which can make a difference and they have high temperatures so maybe just not well.

Early night, yep, that's me done - I'm off to bed!

piximon · 25/01/2008 19:52

Leo, what about using a bed protector - one of the companies does disposable ones (Pampers?) which makes things even easier. I bought one packet with DS1 and still have some left (using with DD1 now) as I just leave/left it on until he had an accident and then binned it.

DD1 has taken to waking in the night since we moved either to use the toilet or to play (usually at 2am). This week my mum has been dealing with her so I can rest but next week my eye bags will be back.

FG how is everyone today? Mars - what a shame, I thought you and DTs could have got a lift here and back with DH next weekend. Momma - thanks for the offer.

oooggs · 25/01/2008 19:55

leo - dh works days (7.30am-4pm) and backs (3pm-11.45pm) so every other week I am on my own at bedtime

frumpygrumpy · 25/01/2008 20:21

DD1 in the full throes of illness, sore tonsils, lost voice, hot, hot, hot, poor babe. Kept her off school and tried to cuddle up with her (doing her DS, wow! So addictive! ) DT1 slightly better, I set my alarm throughout last night so I could wake her for medicine at the due hours (otherwise the temp makes her vomit). Never done that before but it worked well. DT2 on the mend, coughing heaps and he has that "I'm a little better so now I'm like a caged lion" effect. DP has been draggin his body around the house today as he has it now too

When the ill people were comfortable I made soup, smoothies, baked sweet potatoes, homemade dips, and flushed my body with water - I'm trying desperately to be healthy and NOT GET ILL. Gin and Tonic is medicinal isn't it?

Pixi, thats great news! Bedtime routines alone I found very hard. I did it solo for almost the first three years of the DTs. I got into a great, tight routine which actually worked well (if exhausting and I always seemed to end up still folding laundry at 11.30pm having not eaten ) but it was only good if illness didn't interrupt. I hope you get some comfort there. What time off will your DH/mum have when the baby arrives? IMHO its 2/3 months down the line you really need to have some respite. Just shout and I will do a heli-drop PMSL

Hi Momma, how is life in the Mommalove house?

Egg, how you doin? Can we help?

Gotta run.....first one up already .........
