Hi girls, just skipping in and out quickly as don't want to lose touch with everyone, although have not been able to really read thread so will not manage to be nice and personal to many posts.

Just saw millie had a good scan though, which is fab news, always a relief to get that one out of the way .

Pazza, whereabouts are you? My doula is only starting tomorrow so she could turn out to be crap of course, but I doubt it as we have met up a few times and she seems lovely, knowledgeable, helpful, good with DS etc etc. Can't remember when you are due to know when you would need someone. I got in touch with her via another doula that Mars put me in touch with.

Hoping to snatch 30 mins lie down before DS wakes up. Babies sleeping. Wish they slept as much at night .

Egg · 20/01/2008 14:11

Ugh twinkle you poor thing! I had nausea and "debilitating" tiredness but no actual vomiting thank god. Did not really feel ok until about 18 weeks, but the tiredness never lifted. I ran all the way back from town on Friday evening (pushing DS1 in pushchair) and it was fab to actually be able to and to have the energy.

Hey and guess what, I am a WHOLE POUND lighter than I was at pre-pregnancy weight, with no stretch marks and no varicose veins [smug]. However it won't last as I am still eating for three . Am hungry round the clock which I thought was down to BF last time, but obviously it is just because I finally have so much more room for food!

triplets · 20/01/2008 14:45

Hi Twinkle............hope you are feeling better, I was very sick up until the 17th week, its horrid!

estar · 20/01/2008 15:01

EGG!

You should not be running yet!!!!

frumpygrumpy · 20/01/2008 19:03

estar, I will post again, I share your stresses over boxes to unpack and unorganised cupboards and kids everywhere xxx.

HM, why would we beat you down in flames? I shout, my kids shout. I am trying to change it. Its better than beating them with sticks though Just take your time with the job/migrating thing. Time changes everything. It will work out just fine. And, I'm gona say it again - I'm a city dweller, no big castles in the city, just the big castle. If you buy a big castle in the middle of nowhere, I'm there with you babe!!!!

Triplets, you are in with the woodwork here. Always missed, always assumed to be returing quickly

Mars, wow, what a title. I could probably give you at least a thousand of those words (straight from my diary) but I fear there may be more direction than just the title

Just had DD1's girly party. Was fast! And fun.

MarsLady · 20/01/2008 19:12

Ah but FG... the Inhospitable Place is a loveless marriage. Why I didn't just write about a cave I don't know! Sigh............

And away again!

HarrogateMum · 20/01/2008 19:33

LG&T - some days I want to go, others I dont. Some days I love living where I do, some days I hate it, some days I love my job, some days I cant stand it!!

OK FG, message received.......you dont live in a castle (boooooo), will stop dreaming that you do......

Twinkle - hope you are feeling better - I was admitted in both my pregnancies, the twin one and the single one for various reasons!!

Anyway the main point of my post is this - WHEN ARE WE HAVING OUR MULTIPLES MEET UP!!! Come on Ladies, we need to sort it out before I fly to sunnier climes (or not as the case may be).

Right I'm in Harrogate, Dingdong is about an hour north of me, FG is right in the middle of the city over t'border () .........if I am right EVERYONE else is darn sarf. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thats my bit done, so where shall we go and when?

frumpygrumpy · 20/01/2008 20:01

HM, I'll, I'll do it!!! I'll do a meet up schmeet up...................... well, life is too short not to!

Mars, I guess you don't have a loveless marriage but do live in a cave?

frumpygrumpy · 20/01/2008 20:01

HM, I'll, I'll do it!!! I'll do a meet up schmeet up...................... well, life is too short not to!

Mars, I guess you don't have a loveless marriage but do live in a cave?

frumpygrumpy · 20/01/2008 20:02

sorry, I was slightly impatient

oooggs · 20/01/2008 20:08

are you in Harrogate HM????

I'm knackered very tired this isn't getting any easier (how do you make it seem so easy mommalove?????) broken sleep, night feeds, early mornings, hard days [sleep]

estar · 20/01/2008 20:09

ME ME ME!

I'm a northerner too - Morecambe!

oooggs · 20/01/2008 20:19

by the way I'm in Cornwall!

tkband3 · 20/01/2008 20:25

I'm so glad you all like my dress - I'm so pleased with it. We managed to book the place we want for the reception as well, so it all seems to be coming together so far. Of course you're all invited you'll see the photos . I'm not on Facebook at the moment Momma, well not properly anyway - couldn't find anyone when I last looked. If I check to see what my username is, can you invite me, or whatever it is you do, so I can join in . That dress you tried on is beautiful too - don't think they had that one where I went, otherwise I might have been torn...

I'm definitely up for a meet-up - well if FG's going then the rest of us are simply obliged aren't we? . It would be lovely to meet up with all our DCs, but why don't we sneak away from our OHs and just have a girls' night? . Shall we just stick a pin in the middle of the country??

estar we moved into our house 2 years ago today. In April last year, I took the girls to a friend's for the weekend and DP finally moved us in 'properly' - ie emptied all the boxes, put stuff in the loft etc. Only took 15 months . But like you, I do hate living in chaos and not being able to find things. I have set myself the task of clearing out 3 cupboards this week (just the 3 ) but then, I will have some child-free time to do it in when the children are at school/nursery. Before the DTs went to nursery, I didn't have time to do anything organised .

Millie glad you had a good scan this time. 6 weeks does seem like a long wait for your next appointment though. Are your DTs id or non (can't remember, sorry )? I'm pretty sure that the norm is to be seen every 2-3 weeks for id and 4 weeks for non-id. Might be worth asking for an appointment a bit sooner - not that there's going to be a problem, but it does sound like they're treating you like a singleton pregnancy rather than a multiple one.

HM I have a kitchen timer to hand constantly - for various things like timing turns, stints on the naughty step etc. A few days ago I heard it beep and couldn't work out why, as I hadn't set it. I then saw DTs going into the hall and followed them to see them getting their dollies off the naughty step and telling them to say sorry to each other and not to be naughty again . Definitely no flames from me .

iamdingdong · 20/01/2008 20:48

just a quickie, am in the middle of writing a job application for dh

if FG is up for a meet up we must do it quickly before she changes her mond

HM - DT2 went through a phase of telling me off, naughty mummy, say sorry etc no she does it to DT1 which saves me a job - yesterday she to DT1 'now come on DT1, go and apologise to your mummy, you've made her very sad' so no flames from me either!

HarrogateMum · 20/01/2008 20:59

sticking a map in the middle of the country -Cotswolds? Nice country hotel somewhere!?? Wine, food, laughs?

NO KIDS!!???

I will even arrange it if I have to!

And oogs, yes I am in Harrogate, why do you ask??!!! . I was a bit unimaginative when I joined MN, I put it down to the lack of sleep at the time!!

HarrogateMum · 20/01/2008 21:04

hang on - Meeely is up north, she is in Nottingham!

devondoris · 20/01/2008 21:18

Hello!!

A quick nose round the door before zipping off to do some schooly stuff for DD. Have had a great idea to do a project with her to complement her school work... wonder how long it will last? Want to find love and courtship rituals somewhere. KS1 children at DD's school are doing a role play of getting married in church, which is fine, but my FIL is buddhist and I'm secular (these days) and I kind of feel I'd like them to do some alternatives as well. And I also feel that 5 years old is a bit young for doing marriage role play. And most kids get to go to a Christian wedding anyway.

I don't feel entirely comfortable with it and I'm not sure what to do - any advice anyone??

Also, they've decided to ask everyone not to bring in nuts to school because there are some children with nut allergies. Am I being unreasonable to think that the children with the allergies should be responsible for what they eat? I know an attack is potentially life-threatening for nut allergy sufferers, but I'm wondering if next they'll ban all snack bars made in a factory that has nuts in it!! Any thoughts?

Evening all.............21.50pm and all three still awake but at least they are quiet, last few nights things have been better...........hope we have turned a corner!Feel quite sad when I read of all your babes, no more night feeds for me, you probably will think I am totally off my head, but I loved every minute of it, loved my babies, all that snuffling and gorgeousness, and all x`s 3!!! I find it soooooo much harder now, maybe its because I am sooo much older! So are we going to do a meet-up? I am game, even from far flung Kent!

onlyjoking9329 · 20/01/2008 21:55
