piximon · 13/01/2008 16:40

ok have about 2 mins on an unsecured network. The farm is lovely, but so remote. Took a walk to find a shop and after half an hour walking on country roads (no pavements or pavements start and then finish after about two feet) we asked an old lady from one of the houses and she said about another half hour walking to get to the one shop (spar).
Lambs and calves are adorable, but going a bit stir crazy with just myself in the evening, have managed to read four books already this week. Play area is fab but no good on the wet days.
Dh finishes work next Fri and will then be down for a week to sort out next place (have this for another 5 weeks, will definitely be looking for something more towny as getting worried about approaching 7mths pg in the middle of nowhere.
Right that's me off again.

oooggs · 13/01/2008 19:51

wow pixi - where are you? how are you going to transport (pushchair) new baby and dts?? only curious as wondered how I was going to do it with 16mths gap

millie1 · 13/01/2008 22:14

Hi everyone ... thanks Mars, I'll do that. With two sections under my belt, no-one has ever suggested a section birth plan before so I'll be interested in reading it.

FG.... well. Last night she was at the cinema!

As to the rest of the layabouts ladies I just don't know.

Need to finish my assignment so shouldn't be here much if at all (but it's not so hard to do).

I need a hug!

First day back on my own after 3 weeks and I'm scared! The twins are now getting to the age that ds1 was when they were born and I can't believe the differences. They are such little buggers, and still can't be left alone for a minute. Dp starts a new job today so wont be home to help with tea and I am dreading it. I can't even take all four on out anywhere on my own atm because they are out of control.

Thankfully they are at school this morning, but they are tired and grumpy because they still seem to be on US time. It took me 2 hours to get ds2 to go to sleep last night, and I had to wake them both this morning.

I'm jsut hoping that they might just behave like normal children and play with TOYS and watch TV for a bit this afternoon.

So, how everyone else this morning?

Great to hear from you piximon. I kind of wish I was in the middle of nowhere right now - minus the dts of course.

largeginandtonic · 14/01/2008 09:55

Pixi your farms sounds like heaven to me! but then i drive so i could get to the shop in 5 minutes. It must be very scary being so isolated from everything. Hope you are ok, cant believe you are 7 months pregnant already!!!

Its ok Chops i'm here, dont worry. Just do an easy peasy tea and keep them in one room for the rest of the day to minimise destruction. I used to gate mine in the front room in the day I couldnt leave them for a second either. They were 3 before i could go out of the room and not come back to a disaster.

The baby is trying to crawl.... noooooooo.

This morning was very bad. I had soaked through an entire outfit in the hour i had been up (heavy AF) changed 2 nappies, wiped a bottom, looked for the 5yr olds glasses that the 2yr old has hidden (still cant find them) shouted at the dts as they were playing their DS's ignoring the chaos around them. DD was stamping her feet for reasons i have yet to ascertain and it was absolutely peeing it down outside.

I need a holiday...

frumpygrumpy · 14/01/2008 09:59

Try to plan ahead, if you can get even half a step ahead of them do it.

I used to run about like a blue arsed flea when DP worked in London. When mine were eating dinner (yes, some nights I let them eat and watch telly at the same time, I don't care if that is bad parenting, it works ), I would run up, tidy the rooms, lay out all the jammas and clothes for the next day, shut the curtains and even pour the bath. Ah, those were the days. I even drank wine and MNetted when they were in the bath Roll on new job for DP I'm KIDDING!!!!

Was at the pictures on Saturday night. The problem was that DP and me had dinner first with lots of wine and I slept the entire film

D'y wana know a secret?

frumpygrumpy · 14/01/2008 10:00

LG&T, cup of tea now darling, cup of tea xxx.

largeginandtonic · 14/01/2008 10:01

Tell me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

frumpygrumpy · 14/01/2008 10:01

I'm off for a shower. Walked to school/nursery today in an attempt to make my mind feel better (and lose some flab) and I am -sweaty-- glowing now.

largeginandtonic · 14/01/2008 10:01

Secret first!!!! Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

frumpygrumpy · 14/01/2008 10:02

I think I might be having someone to stay, someone you know.

largeginandtonic · 14/01/2008 10:03

Really.....

largeginandtonic · 14/01/2008 10:03

You will be outed! Kinda

Chopster · 14/01/2008 10:07

Tell me the secret! What did you see at the cinema?

I need a night out. We were hoping for a night or two while away, but it didn't happen.

Thanks again for the tablet fg, I just missed you on friday.

Mine can't even eat alone. I have to sit at the table with them, or it ends up up the walls. Bath alone I can manage. Will stick them all in the bath while I cook. Problem is they ate so much junk in US, I'm, feeling very guilty, so no quick and easy bung in oven meals allowed!

lgt, your mornign sounds much like mine really. The dts are trying to steal the kids toys - they keep putting everything into two paper bags and carrying around the room with them. THey both soaked right the way through their PJS and stank to high heaven. I couldn't get them out of bed til 8.30, rushed them up the school in said wet pjs then rushed home to get them changed and fed before taking them to school! I used to gate mine too, but they learned to escape.

Chopster · 14/01/2008 10:08

ME, meee!

I bet it's mars isn't it? That girl is always skiving off somewhere!

estar · 14/01/2008 10:28

Hello! I'm back from Cornwall, lovely time, managed to miss the horrendous rain that is everywhere else.

Took me all last night to catch up, you chatty lot - here goes....

Congratulations Egg, well done you!

Twinkle, welcome - nothing in the world can prepare you for the news of twins. We laughed hysterically and cried for the first couple of weeks. Tis a grand ol' journey and so far on here we've all survived it.

Pixi - I bow to you even walking around at nealry 7 months - I could stagger through the school run but that was it. Hope you find somewhere soon (you sound so calm about it all - what's your secret?).

LargeG&T - you are amazing, hope you get your dts mad woman, mad woman, mad woman...

Doris, glad frumpy let you out.

Kat & Merly, hope you're going okay, not long now till you have to book a nanny so you have time to pee by yourself (am I allowed to say that or do I just let them find out themselves?)

Stretchmarks - some with ds1, gazillions with dts, and even more with ds4 (plus weird belly button discolouring). My tummy will NEVER be seen by anyone but DH again, so I'm so glad about these long tops/dresses over jeans that are so available now.

Actually DH told me the other day that he thinks my scarred, saggy, soft-skinned belly is actually sexy . Figured he'll say anything at the moment to get me into bed, poor chap .

And my dts were 5.3lbs and 5.6lbs, born at 37wks+2, induced vb (sorry Mars) because I had SPD and couldn't walk, sit, stand or anything!

TripleyTigger · 14/01/2008 10:39

MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MIGHT BE A LITTLE BIT HYPER FOR A WHILE......sorry I'm shouting

I might be a little hyper for a while, I have given up smoking and replaced the yucky things with boiled sweeties chocolates crisps anything edible

I hope you are all having a good day!!! I am off to keep extra busy, wish me luck,it has been 62hours!!!!!!!

Chopster · 14/01/2008 11:01

ooh well done tripley. I've given up twice. I first gave up about 4 years ago or so, then I started sept 06 again due to extreme stress. I quit again feb 07. So I know exactly what you are going through!

First time, I found lollipops helped, second time I used those nicotine mints. The best thing is when food starts to taste nice again. When I started again in 06 I really noticed how food lost its flavour.
