Is anyone else chasing around doing daft stuff?

This week I have moved the children's presents around the house every time they have been out or every time I have made DP take them out so I can move them

I bought them and locked them in the spare room shower ("mum, I can't get this door open", "oh its the cold weather darling, it always does that in winter" )
I moved them out of there into the loft so I could clean the shower room for Mars my brother
I brought them down from the loft and wrapped them
I put them all back up the loft
I found them wet and I moved them into a makeshift wardrobe in the loft
I have just brought them down and locked them in my bathroom......cue "mum, I can't get this door open", "oh its the cold weather darling, it always does that in winter"
Later I when the kids are in bed I will move them into a dark room under blankets (can't put them out under the tree then as 2 of my children are going through a phase of "I can't sleep, I need a drink/wee/slap on the head with a wet fish"
Last thing I will shunt them into the living room and stand back and beam.

Tell me its not just me. This is one of the things I love about Christmas but its so much work!!!

That fat man in that red suit has got a lot to damn well answer for.

Right. To work.

OOOoooooogs! Happy Birthday !

May your day be filled with sunshine, deckchairs and ice cream! Or a cuppa and a slice of cake

ChopsterRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 24/12/2007 12:56

poor fg! Did you manage to salvage them ok?

Ours all went in the storeroom and I locked the back door so they couldn't get out there. Just had to be careful, because a couple of times I started to send dd out there for something (big fridge freezer is out there) then stopped myself.

TripleyXmasTippleTigger · 24/12/2007 12:58

Mine have been wrapped under the tree for a week i find the threat of borstal seems to deter mine!!!!!!!

MarsyChristmas · 24/12/2007 13:43

Hi Charley... so good to see you! Thinking of you and Triplets this Christmas.

Charley do pop by occasionally to let us know how George is doing. Remember... you're still family!

Back from the birth. Baby born at 9.30 this morning. Doing well. Lovely breastcrawl and feed!

Knackered but DD2 is in the Crib service at church so need to pop up to that!

Chops... happy hols!

To my darling multi family.... love, peace, joy and laughter to you all.

ChopsterRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 24/12/2007 18:38

Hello fg, that champagne is jsut what I needed.

Cept I'm actually allergic to champagne, so I'll have a dry white wine instead.

Momma, that looks fab! I know a vegetarian lady that would be relieved if I could cook that! Also, my DT2 seems to be vegetarian (his whole life so far), he just won't take any meat or fish at all, in any form (only spag bol). The texture seems to get him not the flavour.

Are you eating at home? Home alone with kids or a big gathering?

I'm not here. I'm printing stuff.......

DP and me never married (long story) but tonight is our anniversary of getting together. 13 years, un lucky for some!! Have known him 20 odd years though. So, join us, the bubbly is open, chilled white for Kelly. He is warming tapas for us.....

SantasUnderGodzillasBumcheek · 24/12/2007 20:44

Happy Christmas one and all!

Though I am also missing a few who should be here.

But i was just thinking, and please delete this post if it is annoying, but i had to tell you this. I was going to say i will light some candles in memory of MIL and dad, but we had a slight mishap with the candles.

We had big fancy ornate candles (cost £1.50 from a bootsale), which were absolutely gorgeous, and DH was fed up of them hiding in the corner on a high shelf.
He brought them down for Christmas and put them on the fireplace, where they sat, looking beautiful for a whole day and a half. Until we put the fire on that liiiittle bit too high...and we noticed them quite a bit later, melting all over the top of the fire . So we, er, haven't got any candles any more. And the lovely beautiful candles were on display for only a day. Oh dear.

MarsyChristmas · 24/12/2007 21:55

PMSL Godzilla..... sorry. You poor love. Still... they looked gorgeous and you got some joy from them.

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 24/12/2007 21:57

I like your story , it has festive cheer. Were your dad and mil always jokers? I'm not meaning to be facetious - we have a light that always goes out in the kitchen and I'm sure its my granda.

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 24/12/2007 21:58

HULLO! I'm not here, I'm putting the duvet cover on for my baby bro......

Here, have a slosh........

MarsyChristmas · 24/12/2007 21:59

Does that baby bro do anything for himself? lol

FrumpytheGrumpyreindeer · 24/12/2007 22:03

Poor babe, he was to come with his GF (all the way from Oz), she never came problems, problems........ I might have to stay up late and drink with him
