Pixi, sorry to hear about all the illness. Hang on there. How is your lovely bump?

I'm Mars doesn't drink. Never would have believed that! I'm sure she has a sly bottle tucked under her housecoat!

Meeely. Its done. Forget it. I too have made an arse of myself in many ways over the years. It starts to look funny once time has passed. Just keep smiling, that way people accept that you're not bothered and move on.

Anyway, I'm cooking .........

The Jane Powertwin seems popular! After they are out of their car seats do you get a buggy attachment? Do you think they will mind sitting one in front of the other when they are older?

I envisage "it's my turn to go in the front!!!" every time we go out in it!

piximon · 10/12/2007 17:08

Meely don't worry about it. Last time I got that sick was my hen night, I hadn't had a proper drink for over a year beforehand and after spending about £100 just on my booze I have no very few memories of the night. I must have had fun judging by the photos. Apparently I got sick in my best friends handbag in the cab home! (I also broke my tail bone and sprained my ankle and had to throw away my 6" raised sole boots). But since that was one of my more tame nights I think we'll leave it there.

In my day (pre-DCs) I could drink most people under the table and still walk in a straightish line.

Powertwin fantastic!! Mine are 16 months at the moment so not old enough to voice an opinion, but I have always stuck to the same Liv in the front and Adam in the back so I'm hoping as they get older they just won't know any different!!

piximon · 10/12/2007 17:12

The Jane car seats clip onto the buggy seats with adapters provided, (I removed the buggy seats to make it less bulky till they got bigger), now car seats live in car and DTs just use normal seats when out and about.

Don't worry Mars, I won't tell them about the raging hangover you had after the Xmas meet up...oops

I'm ok, stuggling with Olivia at the moment cos she's teething again (back teeth) so not sleeping very well and generally very clingy... driving me mad!!
My mum had them today while I was at work and has taught them to say "Ho Ho Ho"!! Very funny

And how are all your gorgeous little ones doing? Any improvement with Nova?

HarktheHarrogatemumissinging · 10/12/2007 17:27

Mars drinks wine - I know this for sure as my lovely DH has had tea round her place.....I am yet to meet the legend that is Marsy, but I have seen a couple of pics of her at the Mumsnet Xmas meet up, and I'm telling you, there MUST have been booze involved!!

Momma - I'm 5 foot 11 like Chops, but unlike her, I love it and wear heels every single day!!

Egg and Meeely I am loving your great tales of embarassment, I have done many similar things myself so its nice to know there are many like me out there!!

Hello Lindy - we have all been there sweetheart, DH and I used to do one twin each at night so we were both up at the same time.

piximon · 10/12/2007 17:33

FG bump is doing well thanks, unfortunately I'm the size of a house and am sure everyone is expecting another set of twins.

Egg · 10/12/2007 17:36

DS is refusing to come and sit down for his supper as Lazytown is now on. I could turn the tv off, which might help, but I wanted to catch up on thread first. Disappointed no-one has revealed anything worse than me today .

nh101, I have bought the new Powertwin and two rebel car seats for my DTs who are due in 7/8 weeks, after umming and ahhing for ages. I am fully expecting to change it for a side by side at some point, but my front door is v narrow, and I wanted something with car seats or carrycots that detached, and as we needed car seats anyway (sold my matrix pro with my slalom pro buggy from first time round), I went for the powertwin. Will report back in a month or two .

HarktheHarrogatemumissinging · 10/12/2007 17:49

Pixi - I havent even congratulated you!! Congrats on .....is it no.5?? Wow, you will be rivalling Mars and LG&T at this rate!

Egg · 10/12/2007 17:51

Funny I was just thinking that I hadn't congratulated pixi, as I think she found out she was pg about the same time or just before I ever joined the multiples thread, although I might be wrong. Pixi how many weeks are you now?

nh101andhertwinbeans · 10/12/2007 17:56

Thanks Egg!

LindyLoves · 10/12/2007 18:34

Drunken antics have cheered me up a bit.

Thanks for wise words from those who have already lived through it.

DP has buggered off to office Xmas party, will try to talk to him tomorrow.

Wish I could get horribly drunk at a Xmas party, used to love doing that.

I agree puking on oneself it pretty standard behaviour, Meely, you probably just had the hangover guilts.

Fresh question - does bio oil really work on stretch marks? got a few around my belly button.Belly still a bit loose but better than I expected.I had fearful expectations of an apron of loose skin hanging down to my knees

piximon · 10/12/2007 19:33

thanks girls, I'm 24wks now with number 5, this pg is passing in a blur. When I had DS1 I'd look at the baby book everyday to see how big he could be and what his developmental stages etc were. Even with the DTs I kept some track. This time around I have to remind myself the next one is on it's way and look up how many wks along. I'm keeping in mind that Mars and LG&T are still thriving with their clutch so I should be ok...

DS1 is convinced there is no baby in my tummy "you've just eaten too much dinner again mummy" as he didn't come to the scans with me.

Oooh new people. Hello. I lurk for days and then post too much in one day.

jingleoooggs · 10/12/2007 19:44

no chance of catching up so here goes

congrats to Lad........ on your twin girls
LG&T - love your new pics
I am 5'8"

I went for a double nipper, I really wanted the babies to be as flat as possible without being able to justify a pram, at cost

car seats - went for graco logico in base system because I wanted to be able to click them into the car, especially as I have three of them to get in when it was raining, as it does most of the time down south

dh fancied the powertwin (we had powertrack with ds1) but it was heavier and I didn't want my babies in carseats alot of the day - personal choice

ds1 is 4 tomorrow

Egg · 10/12/2007 19:57

Lindy, i forgot to say, your DP saying "give me a break" sounds like my DH sometimes. He is a lovely husband, and a great dad, but when it comes to small babies, he seems to think that, because he has to go to work every day, that he should NOT get up at night. He says that if he can't function at work then he will lose his job. I do see his point, but I was up most of the night with DS for the first six months (but could snatch some sleep in the day), so can only shudder at how bad it could be with two. I will not get much, if any, chance to sleep in day with two newborns and a 23 month old DS, apart from the days DS is at nursery.

Anyway, we shall see .

nh101 - I actually wanted the Nipper (as Oooggs has) but it wouldn't fit through my front door. There seems to be about 400 sets of twins round here, and about 90% of the mums have the Nipper. I was going to get the First Wheels City Twin, as you can get carrycots for lie flat when little, and both seat units can face forward or back. It looks a bit like a poor man's Bugaboo. Decided that as we had to get car seats anyway, I really couldn't justify getting a pram, car seats and carrycots.

We also wanted isofix car seats, it was the first thing I said when I knew I was pg again, but unfortunately there are very limited cars with three isofix points, and DS already has maxi cosi priorifix. I would have got maxi cosi cabriofix if we could fit them all in the car.

Sorry, not sure you wanted that much info .

TripLetItSnowAndTwins · 10/12/2007 19:59

Hello everyone!

Sorry I haven't posted in days, I've been too exhausted to think. I'm still pregnant though. I've been feeling iffy all day today, everytime I sit up it's like I'm going to be sick and thinking is a chore. Ds is ill and is currently lying besides me fast asleep.

Oooggs, happy birthday to your ds for tomorrow

Meeely, that's nothing! Forget it...everyone has done it

Triplets, glad you had a ncie time shopping with dd, sorry about the rain.

FG, send some snow here!

Pixi, glad your pg is going well. Sorry about the illness.

I'm 5'11" too.

Hello to everyone else, my brain is now feeling overworked! Post more tomorrow xx
