Hey ladies,

So I'm 11+2 weeks pregnant with my second. I don't know why I just can't shake the feeling that it may possibly be twins?! I am a non identical twin & so it's my mum. My scan is next Tuesday, I cannot wait!

I just feel like I'm showing so early on have felt this way since about 6 weeks! Il attach a pic but did anyone else have the 'feeling' and do you show earlier with twins??

I'm a size 10 normally but I can't fit into my jeans and haven't been able to since about 7-8 weeks.
I know they say about bloat but this 'bump' never disappears!

Any comments would be so appreciated! X

My first pic is me at 8 weeks & second me now at 11 weeks x

Anyone? 😄

YummyVeggie · 26/05/2020 11:27

Don’t have any experience but congratulations on the pregnancy either way!

Woeismethischristmas · 26/05/2020 11:35

When I was pregnant with twins the difference for me was the copious amounts of throwing up. I wasn't really showing at that point. On subsequent pregnancies you can get a bump much after than before as everything is prestretched!

Woeismethischristmas · 26/05/2020 11:36

Earlier not after

BellaVida · 26/05/2020 11:40

I didn’t notice much of a difference in early pregnancy apart from more sickness. Was a total shock when I had the scan! By 20 weeks it was very obvious though!

Redcrayons · 26/05/2020 11:45

I’ve only been pregnant once so can’t tell you about the difference, but I definitely had a little bump before my first scan. You could see it enough that I took to wearing baggier clothes and some girls at work said they knew I was pg before I told them. I wore my only pair of trousers that I could fasten, work ones, to my first scan.

I didn’t have any particular ‘feeling’ though.

PowerslidePanda · 26/05/2020 11:58

I had the opposite with morning sickness! HG with my singleton, felt far better during my twin pregnancy! I started to show around 10 weeks.

BBB18 · 26/05/2020 13:19

Thanks for all your replies!! I guess I will have to just wait & see....

Do you think it's normal with a singleton to feel like I have a bump already?!

What was all your bellies like with twins at 7-10 weeks...

I have had sickness but I wouldn't say it's been awful! It's been pretty much every day but has slowed down the last week

X

PurBal · 26/05/2020 13:21

Statistically you have a higher chance of having twins. Could do.

BBB18 · 26/05/2020 15:36

@PurBal I do. Il update this thread in a weeks time 😍 x

Quornflakegirl · 27/05/2020 20:34

I have only been pregnant once (with non identical twins) so can't compare but I wasn't showing at my 13 week scan. By 16 weeks however, I had grown so much. I remember DH doing a double take when I came downstairs one morning.

You have a much higher chance being an dcda twin yourself, however, neither of my non ID twin aunts went on to have twins and neither did their daughters. I did though so the gene was floating around.

Do let us knowGrin

isurvived3under2 · 30/05/2020 01:00

Could well be. I showed really early with my twins (also second pregnancy) and I was so, so sick, I joked to my husband: there must be two in there to make me feel so sick. Ha.

Time2change2 · 30/05/2020 01:18

When I was pregnant with twins the main thing I noticed was every pregnancy symptom was amplified. I was absolutely starving a lot and if I didn’t eat something within 5 mins of feeling sick I would have grown up. Stuffing bread in my mouth before paying for it (whilst in the queue or something. Stopping for pasta or a sandwich at a petrol station and having to eat at the lights. You get the picture. Also I got really out of breath early on. Couldn’t understand why I found it more difficult to walk at a quicker pace.
It still came as an utter shock at 12 weeks but looking back the signs were there

BBB18 · 30/05/2020 05:05

@Quornflakegirl - thanks so much for you reply. Awwww wow 😮 I bet you was shocked! So sweet though. Can I ask did you have really bad sickness or pregnancy symptoms that were really strong? See I had nausea & sickness the first 9 weeks & now I occasionally have the nausea in which I dry heave ( awful ) 😂 but it is no where near as exaggerated as other twin Mumma's get! X

BBB18 · 30/05/2020 05:07

@isurvived3under2 LOVE your user name 😂 thanks so much for your reply. See this is where I'm questioning, am I? I was really nausea and sick till about 9 weeks. Now I just feel nauseas not every day and occasionally throw up. I haven't had the exaggerated sickness! In fact apart from the big belly so early on nothings really been exaggerated! X

BBB18 · 30/05/2020 05:09

@Time2change2 thanks for your reply!!! That made me laugh - stuffing bread in to your mouth at the queue, totally understand what you mean though! See I don't feel like that & none of my symptoms are exaggerated. The first 9 weeks I was really nauseas & sick. Then it stopped! 4 days till my scan we will see. Maybe I'm just having one HUGE baby 😂 x

BBB18 · 30/05/2020 05:11

As you can tell I'm awake early! Headaches & the occasional waking up at stupid o clock are about as exaggerated as my symptoms get x

Quornflakegirl · 30/05/2020 07:42

The first trimester was horrendous, I was sick multiple times a day. The sickness and exhaustion were unbelievable. All I was thinking was that no one had mentioned how awful being pregnant is! The sickness continued pretty much until I gave birth at 34 weeks. The exhaustion was bad too, I was asleep before 7pm for the entire first trimester.

My girls are 8 soon, it goes so fast!

crazychemist · 01/06/2020 09:56

I’m 13 weeks with twins, had a singleton previously. This time, I had horrific ligament pain and then very suddenly my bump appeared the next day at 12 weeks, and it is significantly larger than my bump for DD. I found out about the twins at my scan, and was not surprised because all my symptoms have been much stronger than with DD. I started throwing up at 12dpo, whereas with DD not till 6 weeks, and have been sick enough that I’ve had to go onto an antiemetic. Stretching pains in pelvis and abdomen from 5 weeks, whereas I had them very much later with DD. So basically timing of everything has been earlier and everything is more severe.

ZRS86 · 02/06/2020 14:24

@BDB18 Let us know how you get on in your scan. I’m interested to know if you are expecting twins!

Merename · 02/06/2020 14:32

In my first pregnancy I had a strong feeling I was expecting twins, after a few weeks wrote it off as just giddiness with first baby, but at 12 week scan suggested that there likely had been a twin early on who hadn’t lasted long.

In second preg I had no such feeling, and had another single, but I started to show very early - it’s common for those muscles to ‘spring out’ apparently second time round.

So who knows! Exciting! How long now til your scan?

BBB18 · 02/06/2020 19:08

Thank you for your replies 💕💕 it's so interesting hearing twin Mumma's views. Some have severe symptoms some don't! Who knows I just keep googling twin pregnancy and talking about it! My scans tomorrow at 2.30 il probably look like a right wolly with just the one! Will be lovely either way I can't wait to see my scan pic! Haha I just can't stop thinking it is, I didn't have this with my little girl xxx

BBB18 · 02/06/2020 19:10

It's this growing bump that has been growing since 7-8 weeks that has me wondering aswell.... we will see tomorrow! 😍 x

I wonder?!
Kenworthington · 02/06/2020 19:20

Good luck for your scan. My bump was like that with dc2 and dc3. Single pregnancies!

IndiaMay · 02/06/2020 19:23

Yes potentially, non id twins run in the family (your family are more likely to ovulate twice in a month)
