Hey ladies,

So I'm 11+2 weeks pregnant with my second. I don't know why I just can't shake the feeling that it may possibly be twins?! I am a non identical twin & so it's my mum. My scan is next Tuesday, I cannot wait!

I just feel like I'm showing so early on have felt this way since about 6 weeks! Il attach a pic but did anyone else have the 'feeling' and do you show earlier with twins??

I'm a size 10 normally but I can't fit into my jeans and haven't been able to since about 7-8 weeks.
I know they say about bloat but this 'bump' never disappears!

Any comments would be so appreciated! X

My first pic is me at 8 weeks & second me now at 11 weeks x

They told you they babies are boys at 12 weeks? Confused

BBB18 · 03/06/2020 19:08

So I'm 13 weeks + 3 and she asked me are you finding out the sex I said yes & she said I'm 99% sure they are boys! 😍 she was lovely the midwife she probably shouldn't be telling me but she seemed just as excited as I was x

Congratulations!!🥳

BBB18 · 03/06/2020 19:26

@GracieLouFreebushh thank you 💕💕

ElizabethG81 · 04/06/2020 09:18

They might still be identical even if they have separate placentas. You won't know until after they're born.

Kenworthington · 04/06/2020 11:45

Oh wow! Congratulations Smile

crazychemist · 04/06/2020 12:05

BBB18 · 04/06/2020 17:08

Thanks everyone @Lily2020 - it's so lovely I can't believe it ( even though I had a hunch ) haha 💕

isurvived3under2 · 07/06/2020 05:42

If you opt to have a NIPT/fetal DNA you'll know the sex really early (11 weeks) and I think it can also tell you if they're identical despite sharing a placenta.

BBB18 · 07/06/2020 07:11

@isurvived3under2 - oh wow I didn't know they could do it as early as 11 weeks but she was so certain 😍 I was 2 and a bit weeks ahead of that mark too. X

BBB18 · 07/06/2020 07:12

@isurvived3under2 - she said to be non - identical I can't remember her explanation much was in a sort of blurred bubble of shock and joy haha! X

DoneWithLove · 07/06/2020 07:52

That is so wonderful. Congratulations Flowers

If they share a placenta, they're identical. So some people (including worrying number of medical professionals) mistakenly think that if they have separate placentas, they're non-identical - but that's not true. If DCDA twins are the same sex, there's a 33% chance they're identical.

I was told by both the sonographer and the midwife that my twins would be non-identical, but the consultant told me what I said above. We had them DNA tested when they were born, and they are in fact identical.

PowerslidePanda · 07/06/2020 08:27

Having said that - only non-identical twins run in families - identical twins are random chance. So given your family history, it's more likely that they're non-identical.

isurvived3under2 · 07/06/2020 09:28

@PowerslidePanda is right, what I wrote is nonsense. If they share a placenta they're definitely identical. What I meant to write is they can be in two sacs and still be identical (30% of cases).

BBB18 · 07/06/2020 09:46

Thanks for all the info! 💕 i guess we will have to wait & see haha! All sets are non identical in my family apart from my twin nephews they are identical. They are from my brothers wife's side of the family she also has identical twin sisters! X
