Hey ladies,

So I'm 11+2 weeks pregnant with my second. I don't know why I just can't shake the feeling that it may possibly be twins?! I am a non identical twin & so it's my mum. My scan is next Tuesday, I cannot wait!

I just feel like I'm showing so early on have felt this way since about 6 weeks! Il attach a pic but did anyone else have the 'feeling' and do you show earlier with twins??

I'm a size 10 normally but I can't fit into my jeans and haven't been able to since about 7-8 weeks.
I know they say about bloat but this 'bump' never disappears!

Any comments would be so appreciated! X

My first pic is me at 8 weeks & second me now at 11 weeks x

@fairyoriginallemon - it's been a fun thread to have been a part of 😍 we really do! So lovely thanks for your message xx

You were told the sex at the 12 week NHS scan OP?Hmm

Hairy hands at work I think.

BBB18 · 07/06/2020 22:05

@Isawthathaggis - I was there for a good hour talking away with her whilst scanning two and one awkward twin! She asked if I was finding out and she said what she saw, it was more of I think there boys actually I'm 99% accurate! Light hearted and all part of our convo. Will be fun to see if she was right! X

Quornflakegirl · 07/06/2020 22:17

Congratulations op.

Just to add, my dcda twins had a combined placenta and are most definitely non identical. The placentas joined around 18 weeks.

Isawthathaggis · 07/06/2020 22:22

I can’t believe I’m engaging with this, but I am bored, there’s a pandemic on so I can’t go anywhere, and everyone is asleep.
You can’t tell the gender at twelve weeks OP, you’ll have to try harder. The foetus is so small, while gender is set, there is only a nub to look at.

She can’t ‘think there are boys there’ unless she is the least professional stenographer in the world. Plus the initial stenographer you would have seen won’t have been an expert in multiple births. If there was a problem with measurement you would have been referred to come back to see another ‘level’ of stenographer.

But you carry on, if your bored. Schools off after all.

BBB18 · 07/06/2020 22:41

@Isawthathaggis - I'm was 13 + 3 guess that makes no difference I'm no expert. I'm not set on it being boys but that's what she said. Like I said I'm happy either way who cares! It's twins & I'm super excited. Thanks for your input, glad this thread could entertain your boredom haha!

BBB18 · 07/06/2020 22:43

@Quornflakegirl - thank you 😘 I'm super excited & a little confused by all the different types and meanings haha. I got told they are non identical do you think they are if they are in separate sacs? I have so many questions I can't wait for my next appt with the midwife 😬 xx

I have a friend in the US who was told a boy at 12 weeks via ultrasound. Her son is now 6.

I wonder?!
BBB18 · 07/06/2020 22:55

@Quornflakegirl - thank you 😊 the midwife/stenographer also showed me what she could see and after having a little girl I must say I could see the difference... I think I'm more inclined to believe the professionals 😂😘 x

@BBB18 I only stumbled across this threat yesterday. Congratulations on twins! It's really strange feeling but I was having a few dreams about twins and I was really confused and thought nah I won't happen as unlike you twins don't run in my family at all (or not that anyone has ever mentioned when talking about family history etc) anyway at my scan on the 10th I found out I was expecting twins, although looks like theyre identical as they are sharing a placenta. Never imagined having twins although I always wished I was a twin when I was younger, I'm internally excited I think but externally completely overwhelmed by it all.. seeing my little ones again tomorrow when I will actually be 12 weeks! Take care x

AncientandPregnant · 17/06/2020 07:17

I found out the sex for two of my pregnancies at scan at 12 weeks in the UK at a private clinic in London with very high resolution machines and highly skilled sonographers. It’s perfectly possible. Congratulations OP.

BBB18 · 17/06/2020 07:29

@AncientandPregnant - thank you for your comment 😘 I agree with you it's certainly possible. Quite a few people seem shocked! I guess it's not the norm but it's definitely possible as you said & due to our experiences- so exciting! I will have my confirmation in 3 weeks at my 20 weeks scan. Il update here haha xxx

BBB18 · 17/06/2020 07:34

@emma911030 - congratulations how exciting!!! It's so interesting to hear about just having the 'feeling' & twin dreams! Was you shocked?! Even though I kind of knew, I didn't actually know of course, I was still shocked I didn't sleep for the first couple of nights haha!!! Good luck with your 12 week scan. I am so excited but anxious about having 2. I completely understand your feelings, your not alone. Let us know how your getting on, take care & good luck with everything 😄 xxx

emma911030 · 17/06/2020 08:18

@BBB18 I was definitely shocked. It was a student sonographer who scanned me and was like yep just one baby nice heart beat etc and the trained lady was like wooooh hang on then they found number 2. I had a few choice words mainly the F word and then cried.. a lot for a long time lol didn't know how to digest the information! It didn't help we have to on our own at the min so my partner was at work I had to phone and tell him lol
It will be so nice for you though continuing the twins run in your family! Thank you, will let you all know tomorrow how everything is looking (fingers crossed all happy and healthy!) Xx

novicettc · 19/06/2020 16:26

Congrats @BDB18 I am also a twin expecting twins! Best feeling ever Smile

BBB18 · 19/06/2020 17:20

@novicettc - awww how exciting! Thank you & congratulations. How far along are you now? Xx

anxietrist · 20/06/2020 09:00

@BBB18 when is your next scan?

BBB18 · 20/06/2020 09:18

My next scan is in 3.5 weeks it's my 20 week scan. I then have them every 4 weeks from then on x

annie987 · 20/06/2020 14:06

I was told at my 13 week scan the sex of my twins and it was accurate.

Congrats OP

BBB18 · 23/06/2020 16:06

@annie987 - aw that's lovely to hear! My scans on the 20th so we will see 😍 thank you! X
