Missing nursery? I don't know what you mean................

Ok, ok, yes, I was the mother who overslept this morning and came down to find my mysteriously quiet children successfully opening packets of crisps with the longest, sharpest knife in the kitchen, and paddling round in the 3/4 litre of neat apple and pear squash they had spilt on the floor .

Must set the alarm tomorrow....

And lol at accident forms - I got to the point where they were thrust under my nose every time I went to pick up the dts and sometimes I forgot to read them . Hope no one from social services read these posts.

Right ladies - names! Can't discuss these with real life people as no one knows but us what the sex of the baby is, so opinions please. We love biblical names and already have an Isaac David, Daniel Joshua and Joel Caleb (REALLY hope SS don't read as now will be v easy to track me down :S ). I like the simpler but not too common ones like Noah, Jonah and Elijah, but dh doesn't like them for some reason. He likes the obscure ones like Ezekiel and Malachi. We've possibly settled between us on Levi James, so what do you think and any more suggestions?

menageriekeeper · 28/08/2007 15:24

Estar, I have an Aaron (pronounced eron) and a Nathaniel, which are two biblical names.

estar · 28/08/2007 15:27

I do like those two, but their cousin is Aaron, so that would be confusing, and we rejected Nathaniel because it rhymes with Daniel!!

chopster · 28/08/2007 15:54

Levi reminds me of Levi Roots, the inventor of reggae reggae sauce. I like the simpler ones too, love Noah and Elijah. I didn't actually realise that Elijah was biblical.

We looked through the bible for names for ds1, and he was nearly called Kenan, who I believe was the great-grandson of Adam. We decided on Jack because it meant God's gift.

tkband3 · 28/08/2007 17:11

I really like Levi (and I really like your other names estar), not sure about Ezekiel though. If we had had a boy, I would have liked to call him Reuben, Solomon or Gabriel.

MarsLady · 28/08/2007 17:16

I like Noah Malachi!!!!!!!!!

Love the name Malachi

MarsLady · 28/08/2007 17:17

Ooh and Ezra! Gorgeous name!

tripletsandtwins · 28/08/2007 17:26

I love Elijah...I'm not sure about Levi, it's a lovely name, I just have bad assosiations with it.

I like Rueben too tkband! We have a Rueben, but he's always called Ben

oooggs · 28/08/2007 17:37

names are a nightmare - especially boys (in my opinion we have a James Aaron and a Jack Nathan (Jack was supposed to be Luke - but didn't look like one - so dh said)

so I have no idea - had trouble naming my own!!!! I like James, Noah, Luke & Ezra (good one Mars)

frumpygrumpy · 28/08/2007 18:09

Levi James has a good ring to it. Like Mars, Malachy (is Malachi?) is a favourite of mine but you'd need always to say it with an Irish brogue to have its full effect Gabriel makes me think of Gabriel Byrne, who I wouldn't mind snogging the face off.....so a tick there too

Girls the man of my dreams (not Paolo ) is coming to London on tour!!! Naturally, I will have to also as I wouldn't miss it for the world, even if my legs had been freshly torn off and sewn on again. I know you will all say "ooh yuk" but thats totally fine as I don't do orgies anyway. Its Bruce Springsteen. And to let you fully understand my passion..........I would have two sets of twins for that man.

There, I knew that would get you.

MarsLady · 28/08/2007 19:09

So FG.... if you're coming to London to see the Brucester.......................

I think you know where I'm going with that!

Reuben is a gorgeous name!

Reuben Malachi Ezra
Ezra Malachi Reuben
Malachi Ezra
Malachi Reuben

Ooh.... I could almost change the children's names by deed poll!

chopster · 28/08/2007 19:19

I'm only 30 mins or so from London by car.. Quick - get her!

speedymama · 28/08/2007 20:47

Hi ladies, just thought I would quickly pop in.

Mmm, biblical names have so much character, strength and gravitas! I really like Gabriel, Elijah, Zacharias,David, Joel, Levi, Luke and Isaiah.

Noel is another one that has biblical tendencies but I'm not sure if it is a biblical name.

Anyway, DH and I are finding DT1 quite a challenge at the moment. He is becoming more defiant and obstinate and we are having to use all our skills to negotiate with a stroppy 3yo. We have decided to be really strict with him now and he is finding himself in the naughty corner a lot plus we all ignore him when he is being difficult. It is working but it is very draining!

MarsLady · 28/08/2007 21:50

Hi Speedy.

DT1 reasons with me all the time.

No Mummy, I don't like what you are saying it makes me upset. So I'm not doing any of that. I'm going to continue doing this.

When told that that's not acceptable she says (in true dramatic 3.6yo style)... Well I'm not your best friend any more.

I tried to tell her that I already have a best friend and don't need another and she says........

Mummy I just told you I'm not going to be your best friend any more.

Sigh..................

frumpygrumpy · 28/08/2007 21:51

speedy, my DTs are newly 3 and my DT1 tests my patience to the limits. I am finding the opposite is working with her......I am sitting down with her more, listening with my full attention more, making a little more fuss of her etc. Tonight she was a sweetheart. Helpful and very, very chatty at bedtime, in a very good way, not delaying tactics for bed but interesting, funny chat. There is no right and wrong is there! Same recipe, different cake

frumpygrumpy · 28/08/2007 21:52

ooooh, hello darlin, come here often?

MarsLady · 28/08/2007 21:53

hmmmmmmmmmmm........... wonder if that will work with my DT1. And why is it the DT1s that are hard work?

So FG.... your room awaits!

frumpygrumpy · 28/08/2007 21:55

because they have always been first and by that, they think most important?????

My room, ah yes, is it free 19 December? If I get stood up, will you chum me? Will you dance with me? Get drunk with me? Swear undying love to Bruce Springsteen with me? Eat crap?

triplets · 28/08/2007 21:59

Good evening all,
I would like to say its nice to be back but its not, totally stressed out in 5 days! Husband turned back into grumpy monster and trio boredddddddddddd already! Oh for the luxury to be bored! Just finished all the holiday washing and ironing, house back to some sort of order, still jet lagged and no sleep! Yesterday I had just got Rebecca out of the bath when her friend phoned up and invited her to go swimming, so 20 mins later off she goes, back at lunchtime. Fine. Then I got the most enormous grief from the two boys, why does Rebecca get to go everywhere, we never get asked anywhere(true), you will have to take us to Huff and Puff(40 mins away and I have no transport). Then Rebecca phones and says she is having lunch at the pool and going to the friends house for the rest of the day! Further grief is given, well, lashed out!At 5pm she phones to say can her friend come for a sleepover that night? I said no as we were all tired and Daddy would be cross and so would the boys. More grief follows from her, then the phone rings again and its the friend, please can I come? I sadly give in as her parents recently split. Within ten minutes they arrive here, and war was declared between them and the boys. They are all packed off to bed by 9pm and eventually we get to sleep around 1am, then woken at 5.30am by the girls asking if breakfast is ready??? Tell me there is hope?

MarsLady · 28/08/2007 22:35

trip............ remember these sage words of old NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but yes... I'm sure that there's hope! In fact I'm convinced there is otherwise I'll shall be spending lots and lots of time looking at the bottom of bottles!

triplets · 28/08/2007 22:41

Done that tonight Mars!

Loving your profile t&t.

Am watching Athletics. Some hunks of burning love there!

speedymama · 29/08/2007 08:32

DT1 was very clinging this morning. He was stuck to me like glue whilst sucking his thumb. So I sat on the sofa and just cuddled him. If only he could be like that most of the time.

I'm not looking forward to today. DH is working over 100 miles away, I've just been told that I might have to go to a meeting 60 miles away which means driving on the M25. I'm going to have to tell them that I will be leaving no later than 2pm because I need to allow myself 4-5 hours to get back to pick up the twins from nursery and I'm taking no chancees with the M25.

Wish me luck!
