lol

I'm home with just the DTs for a couple of days. DS1 in Lile on a Rugby tour, DD1 down near Windsor on a camp, DD2 still in Brittany.

It should be easy as pie but I have just had to sit in the corridor outside their room (after separating them.. DT1 now in DS1's bed) for over an hour.

I need to finish this essay that was due 2 days ago but my brain is turning to mush and I'm knackered. Oh did I not mention DT1's new night time party trick? She goes to bed holding a figurine in each hand. Then when she drops it and realises in the middle of the night she screams until they are returned to her. 5 times I got up to her last night. I was planning on getting up and staying awake with DS1 as he had to leave at 8am. I managed to get up, kiss him, check he had his passport, medical card and Euros before apologising, falling back into bed only to be woken by the telephone (at 9.30am).

I came back down stairs and the wee beasts had taken 250g of butter and smeared it over the couches and made dainty handprints all over the french windows. Oh yes.................. it's so much easier just having the 2

So... back to Beckett and Heaney. Once this essay is done there's just the end of course assignment to do. Also I have a french assignment due on Friday, which means I need to finish it by Wednesday and pop it in the post.

Yet where am I?

Sigh.........................

Hi everyone,
An new thread name in my absense, but knew it would be you great guys at the top of the list! How are you all, must read up and see what you have been doing? Need to know about Bibi, knew she had gone into hospital but never found out what she has, so hope all is well. Well arrived back from my 4 week advenure last Thurs night and still feeling very jet lagged with no chance to rest! Had a fantastic time and only got asked once if they were my grand kids!!! Good job we went for 4 weeks as for almost 3 of them I was suffering! Within two days of landing I got flu like symptems, vomited for 48 hours, then my right ankle began to swell and got very very painful! My penpal took mt to the hospital where they x-rayed and did an ultra sound and eventually diagnosed cellulitus, and infection of the fluid in my leg! Put me on 4 antibiotics a day for a week, total rest, some hope, and said it should start to clear within 48 hours. Six days later it was worse and had started to go up my leg, so off I went to the ER unit in Yosemite and they changed the pills for a sulphur based one, 2 a day for another 10 days!17 days and no alcohol . So it realy only started to clear up the last week, though I can still see a patch now. We went to San Francisco, Yosemite, Death Valley, Vegas, Grand Canyon, Palm Desert and Anaheim and spent the last three days at Disneyland! Seen tarantulas on our deck in Sedona, coyotes outside our condo in Yosemite, snakes in the desert, humming birds and so much more! Did not want to come home, only thing I missed was not being able to get on here and keep in tough with you all! Nice to be back1 xx

triplets · 26/08/2007 22:19

tougc not tough!

triplets · 26/08/2007 22:20

try again, touch not tough, see..jet lag!

MarsLady · 26/08/2007 23:18

Sorry that you were ill for the bulk of your hols. Glad to see you back. You were missed!

Me... only 873 words of a 2,000 word essay to go. Should be in bed for 1am I think!

triplets · 26/08/2007 23:22

Hi Mars,
Lovely to hear from you, sounds as though you should not be on here!

MarsLady · 26/08/2007 23:49

I've decided that the last 600 words can wait till the morning. I'm beginning to lose the will and all coherency. So... here's hoping I don't regret the decision but I think I'm off to my bed.

So... 600 words and a 3,000 word end of course assignment left.

Hold me somebody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sigh.............

triplets · 26/08/2007 23:50

Hugging you tight Lovely Marslady, sleep well xx

tripletsandtwins · 27/08/2007 00:08

hello everyone!

hello triplets! Thanks for what you said on the other thread...it made me feel so happy that I've got lots of fun to look forward to ...you were in Florida? I live in Florida! Shame I didn't get to see you!

Sleep well mars xx that essay sounds horrible, I had a 5000 word one today, and if I have to do another one within the next week, I will lose it, start foaming at the mouth and shouting incoherently. LOL...butter sounds horrid. Mine found out the wonderous joys of bleach, shampoo, shower gel and toilet roll a few weeks ago. Ah well, fun fun fun.
(I'm gutted about it though, because I got to put in new carpets, and just after they were ordered dh said that he wanted to move to New Zealand and had been offered a job over there, so I might have to leave my gorgeous new carpets if I decide to go.)

chopster, we haven't met I don't think we've met, so HI!!

tkband, congrats on the wedding!

MarsLady · 27/08/2007 10:26

triplet&twins..... you made me lol about having to leave your gorgeous carpets!

Right......... got to crack on with the essay!

Harrogatemum · 27/08/2007 11:00

whats it about Mars - maybe we can help!!

MarsLady · 27/08/2007 12:13

Seamus Heaney... the limits of communciation.

I need to write about 2 of his poems... I've chosen 'Digging' and 'Whatever you say say nothing'

So.... I'll expect 600 words from you pronto will I HM? lol

MarsLady · 27/08/2007 18:13

Well you were no help HM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Despite all of that................................................

I've FINISHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now to sort my French once the DTs are in bed. Now.... do I give the wee monsters some ldc for pudding or just pop them in the bath? lol

Harrogatemum · 27/08/2007 19:13

sorry Mars! It was the tassel flashing - HD collapsed and it's taken me all day to bring him round!

MarsLady · 27/08/2007 19:25

PMSL

oooggs · 27/08/2007 20:19

hi all and welcome back to those who have been lucky & brave enough to go on holiday

anyone heard from elsa?

looking forward to catching up with LG&T on wednesday and meeting the gorgeous Beau

wow we have nearly (wednesday) made it to the 5 month mark hurray

tripletsandtwins · 27/08/2007 22:46

Congratulations mars! Doesn't it feel wonderful to finish an essay and never look at it again?! (except to do all that stupid proof-reading that I have to about a billion times because I'm constantly distracted by d3 (i don't know the shorthand for triplets ) so my writing becomes really jaunty and I end up repeating myself (you might have noticed already when reading my posts!)

I've had a terrible day with my d?c, I was telling you about those gorgeous carpets? Well, I foolishly let DD2 help in the kitchen, because she wanted to help and I even more foolishly told her to get some eggs out of the garage (we have 2 fridges ). Next thing I heard was a crash as 2 1/2 dozen eggs crashed onto the new carpets, I turn in time to see the puppy running into the kitchen with eggshells on his back. I wasn?t sure whether to laugh or cry, so I laughed, albeit hysterically!

Honestly, why couldn?t she be a bit more considerate and drop things on old carpets!

I should write a book, someone would have a laugh at all the mishaps that happen in my house!

tripletsandtwins · 27/08/2007 23:10

There's a pic of her on my profile...aren't looks deceiving? Would you ever think that such a cute girl could do such a thing???!!!

Before I forget! Oooggs congrats on surviving till 5 months and not throttling them! Ignore my posts, they are just angels really!

largeginandtonic · 27/08/2007 23:40

Hello everyone!

Hope you are all ok, im in sunny Plymouth It has been lovely since i got here, please let it stay nice.

Im looking forward to lunch on Weds too ooogs Cant believ the little one's are 5 months! Beau is 3 months already, too fast it goes.

My liitle brother came home from sea yesterday, he was on the Cornwall (the ship that had the sailors taken hostage) it was so nice to see him safe and sound.

Lots of love to all of you, catch up soon xxx

MarsLady · 28/08/2007 00:45

triplet&twins... you simply say DT1(2 or 3). They are adorable. How could you say no? lol

LG&T glad your brother is home safe and sound.

Watched some lovely athletics...now off to bed. DD2 arrives home about 8am (ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww) and she'll be 9!!!!!!!!!!!

chopster · 28/08/2007 08:12

hi tripletsandtwins, congrats on the pg. I had four under 5 when my dts were born, but hats off to you!

Don't anybody even mention essays! I'm still in blissful holiday mode which I really should get out off, since I have a ton of things to do and still have the last bits of dd1's new school uniform to buy.

would you believe it, dt2 was an absolute angel while on holiday - he has turned into a total sweetie. I'm praying it will last, but I have my doubts. He just loved being on holiday and keeps asking to go back to the airpoooor! Dt1 was a bit more work, was terribly stroppy.I was amazed at him in the pool though (we never go at home) - stuck a pair of armbands on him and off he went! He went flying off the edge into the water and swam like a fish! I must try to upload some photos.

It wasn't all trouble free though, dd1's bag didn't turn up until we were on the way home, and the ABs were in it! ds1 ended up with bad impetigo too, and dd1 and ds1 must have caught nits at the holiday club prior to going. I feel more like a pest control worker than a mother atm!

I've also put on tons of weight, I have to get down the gym again, and stop drinking everyday, maybe tomorrow - sangria anybody?!

MarsLady · 28/08/2007 10:38

Would love a sangria! My essay is done.

Though I do need to sort out my French today. But that's not so bad.

Right... now to hoover up the sugar! Yes the DTS are missing playgroup (or at least I'm missing them being there!!!!!!!!!!!!)

chopster · 28/08/2007 11:06

Oh mars I kept thinking of you while on hol, they have a great Latin american quarter in Torrevieja, with lots of bars and restaurants and salsa dancing! We walked through there a few times - it had such a great atmosphere.

frumpygrumpy · 28/08/2007 11:53

Kelly, hullo hen! forgot to say that last time I flew in here!

Well done on the essay Mars. How come your kids are at all corners of different countries? Do you have family scattered about or do you just give them a plane ticket and a kiss?

JuA · 28/08/2007 12:05

Hi Kelly - glad you had a good trip!

I am thinking about enrolling my two in rock climbing lessons - they climb everything - it is driving me mad - Do you think 18 months too young? I reckon they could be climbing Everest in a couple of years! They managed to rack up 4 accident forms in 2 days at nursery last week!

Maybe Cooking lessons for yours Mars - first butter now sugar - maybe they are trying to tell you something!
