Blimey Pixi........... glad he's okay! Sorry about the car though!

Glad you're enjoying the book lol!

tkband3 · 29/09/2007 19:22

Mars, I made my first ever LDC today - a gluten free one, which I wasn't sure would work, but it did and it's extremely yummy, even if I do say so myself . Anyone fancy a slice? .

Piximon, sorry to hear about the car...glad your DH is ok.

MarsLady · 29/09/2007 19:34

So what did you use to replace the flour?

triplets · 29/09/2007 19:53

Hi all,
How is everyone this evening, hope some of you are doing something exciting. Me, just got home from my Mums, shopped at Sainsburys for supper, and about to open a bottle of vin rouge............so wish you could join me. After all your lovely words to me I feel the need to meet you all, must work on it. Had a late call last night from my lovely GP to say she had immediatley sent a referal for Harry so hoping his appt will be asap, so fingers x he gets the same result as me and I can "LIVE AND BREATHE AGAIN". Wouldn`t it be wonderful? Just cannot believe we may soon have peace of mind, though of course it will mean if they have nothing on us we will never ever know why Matthew died. Right, my supper is ready, well the microwave is beeping! Byeeeee xx

inamuckingfuddle · 29/09/2007 20:07

piximon sorry to hear about dh and the car, at least he is ok though.

triplets I'm doing nothing exciting, but am happy that way - me, music, glass of red, paper, dts asleep... actually I thought a bomb had gone off a minute ago (which is unlikely, given where I live!) then heard the patter of not so tiny feet and realised DT1 had just knocked a shelf full of books off onto the wooden floor - how she didn't wake dt2 I don't know!

tkband3 · 29/09/2007 20:31

Mars I just used gluten-free plain flour, which has slightly different properties to normal flour - it can absorb more liquid (I think) so I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but it's beautifully light and moist (and far too tempting really ).

Triplets, I'm doing nothing exciting either - OH has just gone out for our usual saturday night curry and the rugby's on the box . I didn't manage to post to wish you luck in the week, but I'm glad the appointment went well for you and I hope you get Harry's through asap so that you can have some answers.

muckingfuddle, a few nights ago, DT1 woke up screaming from a nightmare at about 5am. She woke the whole of the house, me, OH, DD1 and the dog...but not DT2, who's in the bed right next to her .

MarsLady · 29/09/2007 20:53

Might give that a go! Just because really. Also be lovely to take to places where people need to be gluten free! Did you do the recipe exactly or make allowances?

triplets · 29/09/2007 21:59

I`d love to stay and chat but am about to scuttle off to bed with hidden bag of chocolate covered nuts, as DH has just found the hidden phone bill................!Can I help it if my bestest friends live far away?

tkband3 · 29/09/2007 22:17

I used exactly the same quantities (12 oz flour and 9 of sugar and marg, 4 eggs etc) and used a square baking tin (20cm I think). I had to cook it for about 45 mins to make sure it was properly done all the way through. I have heard that some gluten-free products are less fattening than normal ones - something to do with the flour I suppose, so that could be another excuse for making it this way .

TripletEm · 30/09/2007 10:29

Hi all, hope your sunday is going well. Mine will be the usual, walk doggy and kids, cook yummy roast(mommalove,if you smell burnt sausages and over cooked chicken follow your nose and my identity will be revealed)
Anyone got any ideas how I can convince my DD1 that the top she is wearing is not the colour blue black navy?!! Just had a tantrum and she insists that it is blue black navy and she looks like a boy and wants a pink one instead!! Oh the joys of children!!

estar · 30/09/2007 12:53

Hi girls, no time to catch up, just to let you know that last night we moved into our building site house and we have no internet access yet so might be a couple of weeks before I can get back online.

As yet, no heating, no curtains, kitchen unfinished, bathroom in pieces, sleeping on mattresses on the floor, everything in the house covered with a layer of dust - thinner on the bits more recently cleaned, thicker on the other bits, and boys having a wonderful time finding all the tools, cleaning products and dirty objects that we have nowhere to put at the moment.

Oh, and DH has been violently throwing up this morning so is in bed while we hide at a friends house.

But we're there - we're in the house!

TripletEm · 30/09/2007 14:25

Oooggs,
forget to tell you that I am about a (runs down stairs to check with DH,runs back up out of breath.God I need to get back to the gym!!)1 hour 1/2 drive from Plymouth. Are you there for work or party?

Hello all, just trying to catch up with you. You have been chatting waaaay too much, not really, im just jealous

Glad to see you have finished all your work and are managing to rest a bit. You so deserve it

Triplets excellent news on the health front, hope Harry gets his appointment soon and you can relax a bit.

Momma psmsl at your mil, poor you. Mine do much the same. "well we used to do it..." still rings in my ears.

FG did you eat the fishfingers? I quite like fishfinger sandwiches. Not as much as takeaway though

Parents staying this weekend so kitchen full time. Lovely to have them though, kids are loving it.

Back later ladies xx

TripletEm · 30/09/2007 18:03

Sorry Momma(TripletEm wipes the remains of a totally demolished pudding from her lips)too late!!tried wafting the smell north, south, east and west of our town in case you were about. Sounds like you had a very busy weekend. My mil constantly says that my dx3 are not wrapped up warm enough!! They are 4yrs now, I think they know how to say if they are cold!!!
Hope everyone is having a good day.I have just had the best sunday lunch EVER!! Not the food(because I cooked it)but my dx3 sat through the meal with no arguing, fighting, moaning or fidgeting. They cleared all their veg and didn't whinge once that there was something that they didn't like. Oh no!! I feel something brewing!! Quick Triplets, you know more than me,what are they planning?!!! (TripletEm makes a very quick exit to check on the dx3)

oooggs · 30/09/2007 18:41

TripletEm - I work in Plymouth (currently on mat. leave) shop there (when I can with 3 under 4) and party (not very often but did last friday night and had a hangover on sat - 1st one in over 3 yrs!!!)

I am struggling with daytime sleep, Erin kinda asks for the cots goes in there and sleeps, Jack screams and screams that he is tired but won't give in and sleep, it is a nightmare. Any suggestions?

triplets · 30/09/2007 19:43

TripletEM,
Dont question it, just be thankful. Mine ate averything that was put in front of them until they were six.Since then its been hell. Rebecca will eat........raw carrots, apple, pineapple, pepperoni pizza, bacon, some cheese, chicken and croquet potatoes. She will not eat pasta, any other potatoes, fish, eggs and indeed really doesnt like bread! James loves potatoes and veg, fish, carrots, cauli, and plain boiled pasta, and apples. Will not touch meat, eggs or cheese. Thomas is a pretty good all rounder in as much he is willing to try most things, but will not touch fruit of any sort! I am hoping it is yet another phase!

TripletEm · 30/09/2007 19:45

Hi oooggs, just took a peep at your photos, very cuteI love the Feed Me one!!
I must admit that daytime sleep was one that I struggled with. Like you my son hated nap time and would fight it even with his eyes closed!! He still won't fall asleep unless he is in his room, the girls will quite happily take a nap on the sofa.Do your Dts share the same room? I had to split my dx3 up because he used to disturb them.
I know it is difficult but I just kept on trying, same time, same place and even stuck a note on my door saying 'tired and emotional mum of triplets please do not knock' my neighbours still laugh about it now and refer to the hours of 1pm-2pm as 'lock down'.I found that keeping Brans room dark for the hour, even if he was awake and then opening the curtains up after, got him used to the time that he should be resting.I also used to sit near the door so that he could see me.Very difficult I know if you have other children too!!(I must admit that on a bad day i spent endless hours trawling aound the neighbourhood to try and get him to sleep!!) Don't worry too much I'm sure they will settle down into their own little routine soon enough, mine began to sleep for two hours in the afternoon once they got used to it.

TripletEm · 30/09/2007 19:53

Triplets:
Oh Lordy!!
Thats why we never normally have a meal together, because I have to cook three different variations of the same meal for them and another two for me and DH.Please no it can't get any worse!!!

chopster · 01/10/2007 11:34

I thought once they reached that age, they would be pretty set with food. Shay did start to refuse to try unrecognisable foods, he jsut went to bed hungry a couple of times. He seems ok again for now, thank god!

I have tried bribery, new fireman sam sleepsuit, smarties, etc. He knows exactly what he is doing and seems scared of pooing on the potty! I've given up agian, I realised I was getting through more nappies with potty training than I was before.

chopster · 01/10/2007 11:39

oh did anyone see jon and kate + 8? Twins and sextuplets!

CountessDracula · 01/10/2007 11:40

chopster over here please!

largeginandtonic · 01/10/2007 16:28

I didnt see it Chops, what was it on? Think it will be repeated? Poor you with the nappies nightmare, i dread potty training. I do the same as you with the food issue, eat it or starve. I have no time to be doing different meals for each one, i feel like im in the kitchen all the time as it is!

OOOGS was the night worth the hangover? I would split the rooms till he sleeps or you wont want to leave him crying in case he wakes Erin up. I was lucky with mine in that they used to go to sleep around lunchtime for 2 hours!!! It was heaven....

Parents all gone now, boo. Nice to have the house back and the can start yelling at the kids again

Mars did you get some rest?

Tea time, off to the kitchen again...

oooggs · 01/10/2007 19:26

oh yes the hangover was well worth it and I was home by 11.10pm so not even really late.

Jack is also teething - has 1 tooth and seems to be in pain a lot. So could affect sleeping - he had been up since 5.30am today I am shattered.

Must be nice to have house back to yourselves.

Yes tripletEm they do share a room which is fine normally (it has to be ), I won't give in - I will win
