I didn't really enjoy tutoring tbh, to intense with only 1 student, I actually prefer proper classes I'll have a look for some links for you samanthar

samanthar · 16/09/2007 11:11

slt tlm !! ok i know text speak is strictement defendu....especially les 'tits for the dcs
iamf i'm enjoying latest tutoring
v.sweet bilingual girl doing A2 but who has never been taught any grammar formally so just going over cet un bel homme and other excitements
i was head of french and the yrs 10 and 11 though have to say enjoyed latter more than former which was just v.tricky trying to keep everyone together, managing irate parents re.setting and very different teaching stylkes in the dept.and the annual hell of trying to moderate all 95 gcse tapes before the school realised we cd just send the whole lot off for marking
bonne journée a tous et a toutes and aux 'tits jujus aussi

Menagerie's boy

And again

For the lazy amongst us!

MarsLady · 16/09/2007 11:20

Clever boy!

chopster · 16/09/2007 15:28

Oooh I'll have to have a listen of that later, when dp isn't watching footy!

I did try wothout the gates. I did see the first couple of messages and thought well I'll see how it goes. So I only removed the top one, but they've not been too bad. The gates are really jsut to keep them in there so that they go to sleep which is why I felt bad. Though I do agree about the twin thing, but ont he other hand I jsut end up feelign incredibly lazy for not doign things properly. Reading 'supernanny is an arse' really made me

It jsut got me thinking though, they shouldn't really still be being fed half the time (to stop the mess, food fights, swapping dinners, slying trying to pass of food as each others, etc). So I'm trying to encourage them to grow up just a teeny bit. The other reason is that we are going on hol at xmas and I want to be able to put them to bed early and they hopefully stay there! And eat nicely in restaurants - shay so loves mashing up food.

Feelign very envious of HM in france right now. We are all sooo bored!

Does anyone's dkids do brownies, btw? dd wants to join, I was actaully a girl's brigade girl!

MERLYPUSS · 16/09/2007 19:43

Hiya
1st post here. 1st kids(twins) due late Jan / early Feb via c-sect. I am the youngest of 3 sisters who have kids aged 14 up so all their advice is oldish. I was wondering about the birth and whether I need oh and one other to help out taking shifts on the coffee run etc. Sisters had natural births and I really feel inadequate at the mo. Whatever I ask older sis she just says 'it was never like that when I had kids'. Not nastily but it makes me feel like I am making a huge thing out of something that happens everyday.
I am also 41 and epileptic so put off having children until I was 'fixed' I am under a nuero, a consultant and getting double scans coz of the twinnies. Always at the docs and now feel scared to mention anything in case I an perceived as a worrier.
Please reassure me I am not neurotic.

MarsLady · 16/09/2007 19:53

Welcome welcome welcome! Have some cake, a cuppa. Welcome!

Now......... you're normal. You're not inadequate and YOU'RE BLESSED WITH TWINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vodka??????????????

MERLYPUSS · 16/09/2007 19:57

Thanks, cake and a cuppa sound just up my street.
Have to say I am really looking forward to the twinnies, but not necessarily the hoooooge amount of stuff they demand. Played with pushchairs yesterday and I am no closer to making a decision with what to go for. Two singles to clip together of a double. Might look for 2nd hand double. Oh I dunno.
Off to raid the fridge.

MarsLady · 16/09/2007 20:01

Well I like the look of the new iCandy double. Hang on will see if I can find a link. Not that I need one... this is purely for you! My DTs are 3.7yrs

MarsLady · 16/09/2007 20:02

is that lovely? the iCandy Pear

tkband3 · 16/09/2007 20:09

any ideas anyone?

Welcome merlypuss...you've definitely found the right place to ask all your questions . I would definitely go for the double buggy, not two singles clipped together. There's a great double buggy guide available from TAMBA if you want more info or I'm sure we could help if you give us some idea of what you want.

chopster I think sometimes my DTs fulfil my expectations - what I mean is if I do something one way because I'm worried about how they'll respond to it, when I eventually do make the change, they usually surprise me. Does that make any sense?! For example, I've been putting off moving them from cots into beds because they have been sleeping so well I didn't want to rock the boat or give them an excuse to play up at bedtime. But we finally bit the bullet this week and they've been great - even at naptime...although I have still got them in their sleeping bags, so plenty of time to escape when they move onto duvets . Oh and supernanny is most definitely an arse .

mk very impressed with your DS. How old is he?

tkband3 · 16/09/2007 20:12

Mars that buggy is fab - I want one ....not that I need one either, but it's a new one to add to the list .

accordiongirl · 16/09/2007 20:17

Merlypuss - hi. Congrats on the double. Never ever ever feel bad about a caesar. What's the birth got to do with it anyway... Prams? ebay ebay ebay - so cheap you can try out a few... Keep your feet up.

accordiongirl · 16/09/2007 20:20

Wow what a pram! Forget ebay!

MERLYPUSS · 16/09/2007 20:21

I thought 2 singles would be easier to lift into the car unclipped. I have changed my mind so many times I really dont know now. I don't fancy a tandem style(again no idea why not, but thanks anyway Marslady )and I rarely if ever go on the bus but would walk to the shops (if I ever get out of the house.)
I havent even started on car seats as that is an alien subject to me.
Then sterilisers (will bottle feed due to epi drugs), high chairs, cots, blah blah blah.

No wonder I am having a panic (pulling hair out smiley)

MarsLady · 16/09/2007 20:28

Then you want a nice side by side. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......... haven't seen one I really like and love though. You'll have to start a pram thread asking for recommendations!

My DTs were in a Redcastle Shop 'n' Jog side by side double buggy. Lovely.... I never did jog too lazy tired!

Good evening all,
Hope I have been missed! Had a blissful night away last Thurs, stayed the night at my SIL`s in London, went up for her daughters surpise baby shower! She is expecting twins early Nov, she looked fab, I felt quite jealous!! Hope she will find time to join us on here as I have told her about you all Just had a very stressful evening with my daughter, really fell out big time, I sooooo hate getting like that, but was pushed to the limit and beyond! Made our peace now, as I hate to go to bed upset with any of them, they have found new friends and want the freedom these friends have to go off, they are 4 yrs older, and I have tried to explain that they have to have boundaries, it is not going down very well!! Nothing much else to report, looking for a halfterm bargain in the uk to cheer me up, any ideas??
