menageriekeeper, I find your comments totally unnasseptible!

I noticed that naughty thing too, didn't like that at all. I jsut do feel a bit guilty about the gates and I know I didn't have them at this age with the singles.

chopster · 14/09/2007 15:51

hm, where are you going?

MarsLady · 14/09/2007 15:51

but that's the point chops.... you didn't with singles!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These are wee weapons of mass destruction and there are TWO of them!

Meeely2 · 14/09/2007 15:57

toooo tired to write a long post - was looking forward to lie in tomorrow, but dh has a million and one things to do tomorrow AM before he goes to play rugby so I am getting up with him, boooooo

Wise woman momma! How are the wee darlings getting on? Are you sleeping? Eating? Drinking?

Meeely................

Meeely2 · 14/09/2007 16:37

mars, me and your bosom are getting quite close these days

MarsLady · 14/09/2007 16:41

I know darling. You share prime position with DT2

Harrogatemum · 14/09/2007 16:53

erm yes mars, I did mean pronunciation. Ooops.

Chops - St Paul de Vence 10 mins north of NIce in the mountains.

chopster · 14/09/2007 17:06

ooh, hope you ahve a great time.

inamuckingfuddle · 14/09/2007 18:18

HM I am VERY jealous, alst time I was in St Paul de Vence I was 4 months pg and it was the sweltering summer of 2003, I had a migraine for about 2 weeks and was v grumpy indeed - hope you have a better time

Harrogatemum · 14/09/2007 18:34

is it nice dingdong? not been before.

inamuckingfuddle · 14/09/2007 18:46

lovely, arty, winding cobbled streets, tasteful niknaks galore!

Harrogatemum · 14/09/2007 19:07

oh fab, cant wait now then. Even feel ok about the fact that as we are going "en famille" it means no nights out for me and DH, not even packing anything remotely smart!

inamuckingfuddle · 14/09/2007 19:14

I seem to remember there is an old wall round the town, ramparts and all that - shoudl keep the DTs amused for a while!

estar · 14/09/2007 21:32

Ahhhhh....... Good evening ladies, thankyou for your concern. I have ignored you all, of course, and spent today basecoating the walls in the playroom, but actually found it quite good exercise for my back (must be all the stretching) and am feeling better than I have all week.

And get this - I was going to drop the boys off at sil's tomorrow while I tidied up the house we are currently in (so its not in too much of a state when we hand it back ) then my brother rang tonight and said why don't I take the boys to their house while he comes and does the cleaning for me!!! He is an able-bodied cleaning freak, I am an unsupple lazy-arse, but I have a good excuse, so I have jumped at the chance. Whoohoo!

MarsLady · 14/09/2007 21:44

If you could send him here when he's done Estar..........................

estar · 14/09/2007 22:38

Oh Mommalove, your photos are divine. No wonder you feel on seventh heaven, your babies are utterly gorgeous. I only bf for two months but at least I managed some - I can't believe your HV knows of nobody!

And Chops, Mars is right. With ds1, I never had to barricade his room, keep the front door locked, hide the sharp knives in the kitchen or remove all the DVDs from their cases and store them in plastic wallets way up high beyond his reach. Then came the dts.... .

I say, whatever helps you relax, knowing that they can't run away / attack each other / get into your room and spread hairstyling products on the carpet while you sit watching TV downstairs blissfully unawares....... They're only young. Freedom can wait till their early twenties, surely?

frumpygrumpy · 15/09/2007 11:07

Momma, its just that I haven't invited DP into the MN room. I guess when I have to share everything in life, even toilet trips, its nice to have a little something I do for myself

I agree about Supernanny and her "naughty" chat.

I agree about the gates Kelly, my line of thought is.....whatever gets you through. If its causing you a problem then take them away, if its working, keep them.

estar, is your brother married? would he like to be? LMAO

hello all. not been around for a few days - have been finding DD1's first week of real school rather stressful and that's with OH helping in the ams. Once he has his new job, he'll be gone early and I'll be on my own to do everything. Now I understand why mothers look forward to the holidays .

So this morning I was rather looking forward to a leisurely 9.00am departure time for ballet rather than 8.30am, and was congratulating myself at 8.59 on having time to apply some (much-needed ) mascara, when DT2 starts crying, v. loudly. Oh god what now, thinks me. When I arrive at the scene, she's holding up her right hand, blood pouring from the little finger, which DT2 has managed to shut in the hinges of a rather heavy, Edwardian door. Her finger was all crooked and it was a really deep gash right at the top of the nail...it was horrid and after a few seconds of running it under the tap, I screamed at OH (who was in the shower) 'I've got to take DT2 to casualty', gave her a dose of calpol, a squirt of rescue remedy and a couple of arnica tablets and off I dashed.

We were very lucky with our timing as we didn't wait longer than 10 mins at each stage of our A&E visit - saw nurse, doc, xray, then back to doc for strapping up. No broken bones, no stitches, just steri-strips holding it together. And from the point we arrived at the hospital she didn't cry once...such a brave and good girl. Bless her she was still in her ballet outfit, headband and all - she looked so cute. Anyway, she has a big bandage and sling and we have to go back to have it checked on Monday. So no relaxing saturday for me!

tripletsandtwins · 15/09/2007 18:22

I totally agree re supernanny, I would never tell my kids that they were naughty people. Chopster, if you feel you need those gates, keep them, I only got rid of mine a few months ago, and no harm has come to my kids .

menageriekeeper · 15/09/2007 18:35

Supernanny is an arse. She goes into people's houses and makes them feel like shit.

I used gates for longer with my gruesome threesome. I only took the one off their bedroom door when they turned 4.

Estar, can I borrow your brother?

menageriekeeper · 15/09/2007 18:37

Oh, and can I just show off my wonderfully talented 14 year old son????
