Thanks for the names advice. I think for us its now between Levi and Malachi. Should I open a poll?

Mommalove's not been on for a few days - anyone remember when she was due?

5daystillnursery5daystillnursery5daystillnursery5daystillnursery.........

Not that I should be excited about that as I now face a 45 minute commute and back again everyday to take the dts to nursery and ds1 to school until we move into our new house. I'm reckoning I can do that for about 2 weeks until I reach the end of my energy stores. By this stage (33 weeks) in the other two pregnancies, I had officially given up on life, refused to come out from under the duvet and spent the days reading, sleeping and watching TV. As much as I would like to do that now, I'm not allowed!

There is light at the end of the tunnel. We do actually own a kitchen and a bathroom, its just that they are in boxes in the lounge (which is undercoated but not yet painted). The plasterers were delayed by a week and that has meant everything has to wait, but by tomorrow the plaster should be dry, which means that dh can paint the kitchen, which means he can install it on Saturday. That's the plan, anyway. I'm now at the stage that when the kitchen and bathroom are in, as long as there's one other room carpeted, even if its the lounge, I'm thinking we move in there with the airbeds and slum it until its finished. Does that sound fun?

I can do prayers, Mars, I'll pray for you .

estar · 29/08/2007 20:26

Ooo, t&t that's a really hard one! And what a horrendous time to have to make a decision like that! Sorry, not helping, I know, but lots and lots of sympathy coming your way.

frumpygrumpy · 29/08/2007 22:39

mommalove was due to go in 4 September.........

tripletsandtwins · 29/08/2007 22:56

mine are already at nursery!!!!

Estar, thanks for the sympathy! and you take it easy! Pregnancy is not easy, you should sit and eat chocolate, not be renervating a house (I think that's what your doing!)

Dh has taken dts out for a drive and a walk! I wish him luck! They shouldn't be back for another hour or so time to myself! He claims that I need it...bless him!

MarsLady · 30/08/2007 01:02

I think you should stay put, at least until the twins are a few months old. You're going to need help and support (well you know that having triplets). Hope it goes well - the convo with DH.

Birth went really well. Thanks for the prayers. Gorgeous baby born at 8pm tonight.

Just off to my bed once I've had a quick nose!

ooh! Mommalove, I'm so excited! Hopefully they won't be too small, 36wks is almost term for twins. Everything will be fine, don't you worry.

Mars, that's what I want to do, the only thing is that if we do that, dh will have to either leave the twins and go to work in NZ when they're about 2-3months old or stay at home and not go to NZ at all...and then I'll feel guilty for not taking us to NZ for my own selfish reasons or depriving him of the first few months with dts. I just want what is best for my children, and if I can be shown that NZ is certainly going to be better for them, I'll be over there in a heartbeat, but nobody can give me, but they can show me the potential. I'm in such a muddle!

tripletsandtwins · 30/08/2007 01:36

Glad the birth went well btw

chopster · 30/08/2007 08:03

Everyone is counting down the days until nursery - mine don't go back for over a week yet Their preschool starts a week after schools tarts. But I am quite looking forward to it really, a week where I can take the dts to legoland and swimming.

If it's going to vote, then Malachi! I'd do the camping in the lounge and jsut try to make it fun, got to be better than the commute.

Good luck mommalove, can't wait to see the pics.

Glad the birth went well mars.

I went to somewhere near Torrevieja in Spain, tripletsandtwins. Third year running - nice and easy! Off to look at your thread now.
The dts are gorgeous, especially when they are still asleep like right now.

MarsLady · 30/08/2007 09:16

I vote Malachi too!

Momma... good to see you babe! Really excited about your babies.

T&T... is there no way the start date can be changed? It's a tough call darling, but one you have to make to together.

Kelly...... did you need to drive in Spain or was it all there?

chopster · 30/08/2007 09:54

we drove. It was a huge great thing too, I couldn't get the hang of the clutch and wheelspan it on hills and dp managed to back it into a post . There are buses, but not many trains, so I think you have to really.

frumpygrumpy · 30/08/2007 18:54

Malachi for me.

T&T, I tried to post last night and it went wrong. Basically my gut instinct was that it is wrong to go. He really wants the job.......but its not just about what he really wants........I don't mean to be hard on him but, we all have to make sacrifices.

Mommalove, don't be a stranger, we wanna be with you

I have had a fantastic day. Brought down a little with DP/MIL (long story) but otherwise a great day.

oooggs · 30/08/2007 19:05

thinking of you mommalove - new twins can't wait (cos they not mine and I can 'hand' them back!!!!!)

ds1 have been to nursery/preschool right through the summer (52 week one) dts will be starting there in April

had a lovely meet up with LG&T and Beau is lovely and a chatterbox!!!

chopster · 30/08/2007 19:39

ooggs, you are not my friend any more. You got to meet Beau and you have a 52 week nursery!

frumpygrumpy · 30/08/2007 19:52
Surfnicky · 30/08/2007 20:14

well, after a few days of wondering what labour feels like, i now know and have managed to work out patientline enough to be able to join you!

my identical twin girls felicity and juliette, were born at about 5pm on bank holiday monday, a little early 35+2 (4lbs 13 and 4lbs 7), but doing well in scbu afer suffering mild ttts. they have just started learning to feed and are doing a brilliant job.

i am still at tommy's - due to loss of blood during forceps delivery on g & a (am i mad?) but am looking forward to bringing them home soon.

looking forwad to getting to know you all when things settle down.

estar · 30/08/2007 21:04

Wow, nicky, congratulations! Hope you can use this time, as lousy as it is to be seperated from them, to recuperate and build up your strength again.
So glad they're doing okay. Big hugs from us all (((((((((((((((((()))))))))))))))))))))

(On a completely different note, why is it so important for three year old boys to discover new things and then take their experiments much further than they need to go? Surely once you know what a cottonwool pad looks like once you've torn it in half and rubbed it on the carpet? Is it really necessary to carry on and try it with the whole packet? )

oooggs · 30/08/2007 21:34

sorry chopster

hello nicky and welcome to your new bundles of joy (are they twins? are they identical? what sex? oh you have your hands full, double trouble.........) the list goes on and we are come on here to moan about it take care and hope you are all home soon

estar - why are 3 year old boys such hard work??????

frumpygrumpy · 30/08/2007 21:43

surfnicky, come in, sit down (gently) and here's a cool water bottle for your sore bits Congratulations How fantastic!

MarsLady · 31/08/2007 02:13

surfnicky..........Congratulations. Email me if you need any help/advice lovelymarslady at aol dot com

Well done!

Don't worry if you don't get here often at first... we remember the beginning. NICE weights for their dates. Brilliant! DT1 was 4lbs 5. Just remember to strip them down and do whatever it takes to get them awake for a feed.

Oh............ and we want pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

estar · 31/08/2007 09:32

Okay, sorry to keep harping on about names - one last question. When you think of Malachi, how would you pronounce it?

MAL-a-kai

MAL-a-kee

Mal-ATCH-ee

Mal-AK-ee

You see, I've always pronounced it the first way but I think the Irish way is different, and I don't want a name that people are forever mispronouncing (my sister is called Naomi and even that's frustrating for her with all the different ways people say it).

chopster · 31/08/2007 09:48

First one, Estar, though I did wonder if that was what you were thinking!

Congratulations to surfnickey, hope you are all home soon.

what happened to the schoolgirl who had twins all of a sudden, anybody? Has she dissapeared now?

I'm planning some child free time this afternoon, since dp is working from home. I can almost forgive you, ooggs!

MarsLady · 31/08/2007 09:50

Mal - a - kai

MarsLady · 31/08/2007 09:51

chops.... only two words for the disappearance... trip trap!

chopster · 31/08/2007 09:51

yeah, I did wonder, but never wanted to say anything in case she was genuine!
