OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MarsLady · 31/08/2007 10:05

Well the biggest clue (after the concealment.. which made me hold my breath... the sudden revelation which made me purse my lips.... the birth which made my eyebrows go up...) was the lack of tubes/special care and the different jumpers in the pictures. The fact that this was the ony thread posted on..........

Of course I could be wrong.

oooggs · 31/08/2007 10:13

so glad that I am not the only one that has been thinking that chopster & mars. I asked a question and it was very quickly jumped on by her 'friend'.

we could also be right........ will watch this space to be proven wrong

Idobelieveinfairies · 31/08/2007 10:14

Congratulations surfnicky...hope they will be home soon-lovely names too.

How is everyone, looking forward to the kids going back to school here, they are getting bored now.

Have been decorating loads these holidays, most of my house is now brown/cream...lol..i get these phases.

So whats the news???

frumpygrumpy · 31/08/2007 10:15

I missed the bulk of that chat as I was on holiday and I skimmed much too quickly on my catch up obviously!!! I got the general feel but I'm going to have to dig it out and have a proper look. Great news we are famous enough to merit a fake on here

estar, I think up here we say it the same as the Irish. I'd say MAL-a-kee, then ending as in surfnicky/malachy (we spell it with a Y). You go with your spelling and your pronounciation - everyone else should fall in.

tkband3 · 31/08/2007 14:31

There were a few things that made me suspicious - she seemed far too 'together' for someone who had been through such trauma; the immediate acceptance by her parents; the huge house; the very eloquent, well-spelt and grown-up posts (seemed like they were written by a well-educated woman not a girl yet to do her GCSE's) and as Mars says, the crowning point was the birth and the subsequent photos with lack of tubes etc.

Glad to hear I wasn't the only suspicious one - I felt bad not responding to her, but none of the story added up for me.

Anyway, today is officially the last day of the school holidays . Well sort of...term starts next Monday, but it is an INSET day, so DTs start back at pre-school on Tuesday and will be doing 3 mornings a week this term . Not sure how they'll be going back though - they missed quite a bit towards the end of last term with the pox and DD1 won't be there this time, so I hope they'll be ok. But DD1 doesn't start till the following week, so she and I are going to have some lovely quality time whilst DTs are at nursery. So from Monday 10th September, I will have 7.5 hours a week to myself . I am making a list of things to do .

oooggs · 31/08/2007 14:38

7.5 hours a week to yourself - I would sleep dts not doing too well at night at the mo and I am shattered, but must be getting something right as they have made it to 5 mths

MarsLady · 31/08/2007 14:52

The worst thing about those 7.5hrs a week is how quickly you start to wish they were in full time school so that you had real time to yourself. At first it feels like ages......... then they get to school and you think 9 til 3... I won't know myself, until you realise that if they could just stay till 5............. lol!

Not that I ever felt like that you understand!

chopster · 31/08/2007 16:17

Ooh three mornings - nice!

I keep thinking baout utting mine in for more, especially now they have settled down. But I feel bad since they are still so small. watch this space, bet I've changed my mind by Xmas!

triplets · 31/08/2007 16:39

Can some clever person talk me thru adding pics to my profile, just wasted ages and can`t do it! Rookie!!

tripletsandtwins · 31/08/2007 17:01

Triplets, if i remember correctly, you click on my mumsnet on the blue strip - it asks you to confirm your email and password, then...

you are given a list of 6 things,

Registration details
Email options
Mumsnet mates
Public profile
Set up public profile page
See current public profile page
Share photos

click on share photos

Then it comes up with more writing, and a blue hyperlink saying

start a gallery

then it comes up with this:

choose file.................browse

click on the browse button and a new window named file upload will appear and you search through the files on your computer, then select the file you want and click open. The window will close.

Then name the picture and click on the send file button.

You see another page, with a picture you have chosen on the right hand side. If the picture is too big, there is a number in a box, type a higher number in it if you want a bigger photo, or a smaller no if you want it smaller.

Once you've got the size you like, press the store button.

All photos have to be in a jpeg format so if it's still not working, you'll need to re-save your photos and select them as a jpeg photo

frumpygrumpy · 31/08/2007 17:33

I ditto Mars. I got some free time (nursery for DTs, school for DD1), felt a huuuge help in it but now I fill every available moment and need more . I still feel terrible guilt though as DD1 didn't leave my side until she was almost 3.5.

In truth, and what I must keep reminding myself, is that it has helped re-build me as a person and I wouldn't be so healthy or as good a mother without it. (Thats not the same thing as a good mother you understand.....I still doubt myself post-twins)

Triplets, it would be great to see your photos, just gona have a peek.....

frumpygrumpy · 31/08/2007 17:35

not there yet, will watch and see. Will you pop in one of Matthew? Or is that too hard? I'd love to see him.

bellabelly · 31/08/2007 17:57

Hello all, am grabbing 2 mins before the 6pm feed to join you on here and say hi. At some point, I'll have a read through the thread and see what everyone's already been saying.

Thanks to anyone who answered my post about things with the twins getting easier, so much sympathy and encouragement it made me cry all over again. But in a nice way this time. And things do feel a tiny bit easier already (or at least I'm so tired that I've stopped noticing how hard things are!)

frumpygrumpy · 31/08/2007 19:38

bella, don't read through, none of it will make any sense Just jump in and tell us how life is with you, we'l take you however you come......big sleep to you sweetheart x.

oooggs · 31/08/2007 19:43

hi bella - great to see you.

well we have done it, dts in seperate cots and we have moved out of their room!!!!!! Will I sleep any better????? We will see

would be great to see photos triplets

speedymama · 31/08/2007 20:33

I have just started a thread here about this woman in the USA who has given birth to her second set of triplets. I bet she is wondering when she will feel human again, poor/lucky thing. Wow, 6 children from two pregnacies. Incredible!

frumpygrumpy · 31/08/2007 20:39

bloody hell!!! I can't comment on that

Bella, just one thought.....you said you were grabbing 2 mins before the 6pm feed......you are quite obviously a woman of ROUTINE. You will survive!! Doesn't matter what the routine is, if its the same it will see you through.

I am off to eat pizza, lasagne, drink erm....drink ......erm, yes drink and watch the Big Brother final. Then I will go to bed early and sleep well (no, no, no rumpy pumpy even if I am horny) for I have a busy weekend ahead. (But never as busy as Mars'.)

BTW Kelly, I made your curry a few days ago but it didn't turn out the way I thought it should. Maybe I didn't cook the onions long enough. Your recipe said til an amber colour but I cooked them for days and still they were not amber when I finally gave up........

speedymama · 31/08/2007 20:50

I find it tiring having twin boys so gosh, words fail me.

Three yo twin boys. I love them to bits but there are days when I just wish I could be on a deserted island all by myself. People say to me that it must be so easy with twins because they have a ready playmate. If only they knew.

The boys are going through a funny phase at the moment. Now they want me to sit with them at the table whilst they are eating their dinner even though I am there doing other things.

I keep telling myself, it will get better, it will, it will, it will.........

MarsLady · 31/08/2007 21:59

Hi Speedy. Hi Bella.

Got a new TV today. Realised how bad the old one was before it conked out. Gulp!

All my chicks home now. Very happy!

triplets · 31/08/2007 23:34

Hi,
Iexpect you are all tucked up in bed whilst I am still here trying to upload some pics!

triplets · 31/08/2007 23:37

Ive done it! Feel so pleased with myself as Im hopeless at this sort of thing! Now you can see why they think they are our grandchildren!! Mind you, only got asked once in California, when they guy was told they were ours, he just said,"wow"!

triplets · 31/08/2007 23:38

Hi Mars,
Talking of tvs ours is on its way out, need to do some research, what did you get?

MarsLady · 31/08/2007 23:41

I got a panasonic hd ready 32" screen with freeview built in. Bought it from hyperfi. So got it for a third of it's retail price.

Are you going to load a picture of Matthew? I hope you do. Would be good to see the boy we all choose to remember (even though we never knew him)!

triplets · 31/08/2007 23:48

Hi Mars,
Did they load? I haven`t got any photos of Matthew on here, we never had a pc in 1994, how could I do it?

Tortington · 31/08/2007 23:49

you could scan in a picture - or take pictures to a photo store and ask them to put on a cd
