No news yetfrom Bibi? Dear Marslady, I needed that nline snuggle, have mailed you, you are a star. Am in much need of an early night, though all three are wide eyed and legless!

tkband3 · 16/07/2007 20:08

triplets, can't find the words, but thinking of you and sending Matthew a (belated) happy birthday.

Meely, hello!

LG&T, I always thought average weight gain was 3-7oz per week. So if Beau is at the lower end of that scale, then surely that's fine. I think some health visitors are wonderful but others are not (I won't start to rant, I promise ). I do think your instinct will tell you if there is something amiss. If he's happy and healthy then why worry? But Mars is far more experienced at this than me, so I'm sure she'll have some pearls of wisdom for you.

chopster how are you getting on with potty training? I have given up for now. I might try again later in the summer hols, but it's just adding to my stress levels at the moment. DT1 might be ready with some coaxing, but DT2 really isn't and I haven't got the strength or the patience to deal with it right now. Poor DT2 - I noticed today that not only has she got the most spots of the 3 girls, she's got several on her lips, tongue and inside her mouth - no wonder the poor lamb isn't eating much and is screaming whenever I try to get her to sit at the table. I relaxed at tea-time and she ate grapes in front of the telly for tea. Hopefully she will start feeling better from tomorrow.

Thinking of Bibi...hope everything went well.

largeginandtonic · 16/07/2007 20:30

Im calm about it really Its just that all the others (except the twins) used to stack on about a pound a week He is a totally different build to them though. I hate the bloody charts they use, grrrrr It is like sitting an exam.

Im on the vino blanc in a minute, ds#4 is driving me to distraction. He does not seem to get the word "no" and to be honest i'm fed up of saying it Torturing rabbits and running off are his favourite past times, gah!

LGT, youhave plenty enough children to know what you are doing, so stop worrying or weighing! I took dd dutifully, once a fortnight, never once bothered with the others. As long as they were feeding plenty, and appeared to be growing I didn't worry.

I really hate the way so many health professionals thing that formula is some sort of golden nectar and undermine a woman feeding her baby. Nothing wrong with bottle feeding, but nothing wrong with breastfeeding neither!

tkband, poor dt2! Maybe try some bonjella for the spots? And ice lollies are good.
Potty training is so so, dt2 managing to produce most times he sits on it, dt1 still not interested. Starting in earnest from Monday, so will see from then!

I've lost 5lbs 1 stone and 2lbs to go. I wish I was still bfeeding - that would drop off!

menageriekeeper · 17/07/2007 09:30

LGT, tell your HV to bog off. Those charts are for formula fed babies, and it's not like he's not gaining any weight. You know what you're doing by now.

TKB - are the spots chickenpox? If you've got poxy kids, stick 8 drops of lavender and loads of bicarb of soda in their bath. It really makes the spots go down and stops the itching. I've used this myself, when I caught the pox a few years ago. No scars!

MarsLady · 17/07/2007 09:52

See LG&T you don't need me! lol!

You're doing fine. If you are at all worried you can email me. How's he feeding? How are your breasts? Particularly your nipples? Any problems there?

I stopped going to the clinic for the DC to be weighed after my second visit with DS1. So so boring!!!!!!!!!! Only went back with the DTs because they were so small. My HV was lovely and let me go in when I could so that I didn't have to be in during the busy sessions. If you think he's growing then don't stress the small stuff.

Right........ gotta go. Got a call!

hi all, it's me, instead of rabbiting on, do you want to ask em a few 'get to know u' questions?

Meeely2 · 17/07/2007 11:29

you are all extremely quiet today

triplets · 17/07/2007 16:30

No news from Bibi?
Having a rough day today, niggly on/off pain in my chest so now convinced I am going to have a heart attack! Had to phone docs today to try and get copies of anything they have on my trio, re heart tests to take up to London with me, also tried to get a copy of Matthews post mortem report to take, hurt me when they said that after 10 years all his records would have been destroyed, feels like they are erasing him all away

chopster · 17/07/2007 16:50

trips, if you are worried, go to the drs and get it checked out. So annoying about the report - you would think they would tell you these things!

Pristine · 17/07/2007 17:44

Just popping in to see if there was any news from Bibi.

Hi Meeely! How old are your twins? Girls, boys, one of each? Names?

Triplets, I am so sorry for your loss and the fact that no one acknowledges his birthday. I can't even imagine what you are going through. ((hug))

elsa07 · 17/07/2007 18:04

Heya, I found this today and I thought I would post something on thsi forum.

My name is Elsa, and I'm 15 and 7 months pregnant with twins which are the result of a rape. Suprisingly, I've managed to keep the entire pregnancy a complete secret from everyone but my best friend, my stomach isn't all that noticable amazingly.

I was just wondering if you had any advice for surviving the last few months of pregnancy, the birth and life after birth...preferably with my sanity intact.

I know my twins are identical and their little girls, any tips on how to tell them apart at birth?

chopster · 17/07/2007 18:50

Hi elsa, glad you decided to come over.

Mine are non id but I have heard of parents leaving hospital tags on for weeks! Hopefully someone else will have a better idea.

oooggs · 17/07/2007 19:44

Flibbertyjibbet · 17/07/2007 19:50

After keep spotting this thread coming up, I didn't DARE ask if the two little girls at nursery are twins!!! They are obviously siblings, but one is slightly bigger than the other and they have different shades of red hair. So I mee-mawed at one of the staff today whilst gesturing wildly in the direction of these two little girls 'pssst are they twins???' Yes, thank goodness I didn't ask the mother or she'd be on here later moaning about me

Kneehighinnappies · 17/07/2007 22:40

So I'm back again.(thanks partly to harrogatemum)
Hello!

Having a bit of a thing with my DT's now 3 and a half months (I think)

I started Zed on formula as I just wasn't able to keep up the expressing all the time and Lola just won't have formula at all, you would think Iwas trying to kill her the way she carries on.

Anyway my problem for this week is that L is waking up 4 times a night, bth my Dt's were going throught till 5/6am but all of a sudden L is waking up and screaming the house down, I feed her and she still screams drops off then wakes up and starts to scream again.

It is not just during the night that she is like this she does it during the day aswell.
I don't know weather it is trapped wind but I can't feed her while she is like it she just screams and screams and screams and goes stiff as a board so i cn't wind her.

If anyone has any idea why she is doing this I would love to know.

menageriekeeper · 18/07/2007 09:59

Kneehigh, I'd mention it to your GP or HV. It could be wind, and it may be worth trying some gripe water, but a professional opinion would be better.

Meeely2 · 18/07/2007 10:03

HI - Meeely (Emily), boy twins, non-id, Edward and Arthur, 2 years and 7 months.

Hello all, glad to be part of this extended family.

Hi Chops me old mucka!

Hi Triplets, thinking of you at this difficult time.

Elsa, you seem to be a newbie too, 7 months and not showing much, you lucky thing! i gave birth at 6 and half, u definitely couldn't have missed my bump! I am sorry for the circumstances of their conception but you seem very laid back about it! And 15 too, oh to be 15 again....!

Anymore questions u got for me guys, c'mon, i'm ready, hit me with it?

estar · 18/07/2007 11:40

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MEEEEE!

28 today, fourth child on the way - not bad going, eh? (shut up large g&t...)

Meely, do you just have the dts? Plans for any more?

Elsa, when you say only your best friend knows, what about your family? Do you have people to support you? Cos that's the best advice really, to get people around you who can help.

Kneehigh, I would also suggest gripe water but beyond that I can only shudder in sympathy.

Anybody else going CRAZY with this rain? When will it ever stop? Children are going mental and I'm too tired to do anything energetic with them. Help.......

largeginandtonic · 18/07/2007 12:08

HAPPY BITHDAY ESTAR..... hehe, 28 and 4 eh? I will be 30 in August am hoping it goes away.

I baked the cakes on my profile this morning specially for you.....well pretend i did anyway I will stick a candle in one and take a photo later for you to blow out

Welcome Elsa, hope you are ok. You do sound remarkably calm about the whole thing. Does your family know? Where are you staying? A little bump at 7 months Mine were out by then and i was HUGE.

Kneehigh, sorry to hear Lola is not a happy bunny, it could be a pcket of trapped wind that is aggravating her. Maybe some cranial osteopathy or the Chiropract may be able to help. Try the doc first though. Nice to have you back

Meely i LOVE the name's, i so wanted and Arthur but alas i was not allowed I have a very cute Beau though

I have stopped stressing re the feeding, bloody charts. May not go back now till after the summer hols, dont fancy a baby clinic with 4 HV scruitinising the entire brood Oh the fun they would have

Thank you for the encouragement though, it is all you need sometimes

Ooogs how are my lovely little babies, they are so edible.

Triplets i hope you went straight to the doc to be checked out. It sounds hellish gathering all the info together, especially from different places. Lots of love to you xxx

I made the cakes for the lovely teachers who have helped dd so much this past year. They are fab and deserve a treat. Should be on my profile.

Harrogatemum · 18/07/2007 12:45

Hello everyone - not been around for a while - just so busy now that I am back at work!

So must try and catch up with eveyrone - plesae dont be offended if I miss anyone off!

Estar - happy birhtday - and allyou under 30s (you know who you are LG&T) can get lost! Life begins at 30, hoorah!! I hit 35 next month......

Hello to Elsa - I agree with LG&T, you seem so calm and unphased by your circumstances - good on you! I hope you have shared your news with someone other htan us - you will need lots of support when they are born.

Kneehigh, hellooooooooo have you checked out that other website yet!? (dont worry multiple mums, its totally unrelated to motherly subjects). My best friend's little boy had a similar problem and the HV prescribed baby Gaviscon. He has been brilliant ever since. ~Of course it could be something totally different but you never know.

Meely your boys are about the same age as mine - they are 2 years 8 months. Plesae tell me you have not potty trained them yet. Mine just are not interested no matter how much I Try!

Triplets - thinking of you and happy belated birthday to Matthew. xxxxx

CHopster - I went for another run last night, hoorah!

Wheres Tkb, is she around? And MArs, are you off doula-ing? And FG - you cant STILL be on holiday!!

And Inamuckingfuddle, aka dingdong, are we destined to never meet up!?

elsa07 · 18/07/2007 12:49

Heya! Thanks for all your replies, and thanks chopster for inviting me over here. Happy birthday Estar!

Largeginandtonic- Trust me, I'm anything but calm, I'm completely frazzled and incredibly stressed!
My family don't know about me being pregnant, they don't even know I was raped yet . I do plan to tell them soon... I do have a bump, but I can still hide it when I'm wearing the right clothes, I've completely lost my waist, but because I'm eating loads, my family are just thinking I'm putting on a bit of weight, but I think it helps that I'm quite tall.
I'm still living with my parents, I'm sort of splitting my time between my house and my friend's (and school of course). I don't see my parents that much, because I'm always out with friends and doing something, and when I am home, I have homework that I do in my bedroom and I hang out in my room usually, most of the time with a friend. Also, our house is huge, so when I want to get away, there are many rooms to hide in! They're just accepting it as my 'teenage phase'

Meeely - I'm a newbie yes, I only found this site yesterday! I'm glad that I haven't given birth yet, I need the nine months to prepare myself for anything and everything! Trust me, you don't want to be 15 again, the coursework! AHH!! It's killing me! Not to mention all the exams you have to sit and revise for, and coz I go to a grammar school, I get twice as much!! Not fun :P

If there are any questions anyone would like to ask me, please feel free! I don't bite...usually...

Meeely2 · 18/07/2007 13:49

Harrogate mum, Actually (speaks quietly) we have 'started' to potty train i.e. they are in pants at nursery (when someone else is changing them!). BUt at home, much as I try, I just don't have enough clothes to keep up with them. If we had had a normal summer we may have cracked it by now, but i'm sorry my weekends are not about changing pants, mopping floors and washing clothes from morning til night. they have to be ready, they have to KNOW when they need a wee, and doing it too early is as damaging as not doing it at all. So no, in summary we are not trained yet.

Elsa, I strongly recommend telling your family now, because you are soooooo going to need them at the birth and there after, having one would have been hard enough at 15, but 2, I struggled and I was 28. With twins u could go into labour anytime from now until you are term - you need the support of your family as I assume your friend is also 15, she is not really going to know what to do if your waters suddenly go while you are shopping!

Chops you there?

Hi everyone else, sorry i haven't put more personals in, but i been hooked on the drinking during pregnancy thread! great debate

menageriekeeper · 18/07/2007 13:59

Gosh, Elsa! How on earth are you managing to hide your pregnancy from your parents? Doesn't your school know?
