Anyway Dh has just finished cooking the dinner so I had better go.

Love to you all.

accordiongirl · 02/07/2007 20:05

I've been meaning to ask you ladies' advice on this for a few days, a very serious question indeed : does it count as getting back into your jeans even if you can't do them up? Say yes please please please .

lilolilmanchester · 02/07/2007 20:30

Yes, of course it does accordion girl!!

Sadly, in my case I can't get them past my thighs, so guess THAT doesn't count!

madderthanaboxoffrogs · 02/07/2007 23:27

Hi, I'm not sure if I made it onto the right thread but spotted the Triplets lady on here so I hope I'm in the right place! My triplets are 23 mmonths and are a whole 2 on the 4th Aug. I thought I was the only one taking a wee dram, a sneaky diazapam or a box of antidepressants to get through the week! so glad I am not alone! I went to toddler group today and my little boy Joe got pushed over by a rough three year old and banged his head. I just hate that when you have 3 you can't watch them all at the same time and it makes you a bit scared of things happening. I want to teach them all to fight and stand up for themselves but that's not very pc huh? There are so few places that you can safely take young triplets on your own. If we go to the park they run off in in different directions, some dip stick is always leaving the gate open (there are three gates to the play area) and I come away more stressed out than I would have been had I stayed at home with them!!! Well I hope I can find my way back on here again if not I'll make it to the multiples bit and wait to be rescued. Hi to all

menageriekeeper · 02/07/2007 23:30

Madas, it gets better, honestly. Do keep taking them out, and don't let them even be aware that they have the option to leg it. Use reins if necessary. I only needed to use them for a shortish time with mine, and they learned to stay in the same place. At toddler groups, ask other mums to help, you'd be surprised who will. The majority will be in awe of you for coping with three babies.

MarsLady · 02/07/2007 23:34

Hey Madder.....

Welcome. This is indeed the right place. Now FG might have gone on her hols but we can look after you. Tea? Lemon Drizzle cake? Biscuit? Gin?

Hey Mars, left my gruesome threesome's bedtime routine on the twin sharing beds thread, especially for you.

menageriekeeper · 02/07/2007 23:40

Mommalove, I ended up sleeping on the sofa, as it gave me both back and bump support. I couldn't sleep in bed from around 24 weeks onwards, but the sofa was fine.

largeginandtonic · 03/07/2007 11:40

Pillows mommalove, heavely pillows. Go to argos and buy a million. Milky drinks before bedtime help too and a deep bath.

Welcome Madasabox, totally in awe of a triplet mommy....... >

Mars im getting the oven on for a round of cakes, bouny cake anyone???

Mars have you ever heard of Pectus excavatum, have just been to the docs with a snuffly Beau and he has diagnosed this. I have just been scaring myself to death on the internet looking it up. We have been referred to the paed at the hospital but he says it is not severe. Am soooo worried. Poor little thing.

My car broke again yesterday too, i spent 2 hours waiting for the breakdown guy with 6 children and poorly Beau in the car in the school car park. I now have to phone the garage i bought it from last Thursday and get them to fix it. It is the generator that charges the battery that is broken, so every time i drive it the battery dies. It has a 3 month warranty with it though so im hopeful they will fix it. It broke the day after i got it but just thought it was a blip

My week is not going well

madderthanaboxoffrogs · 03/07/2007 21:33

Oh poor Largeginandtonic sounds like a nighmare hope all goes well soon for you. And yep Mommalove I used pillows, under the huge bump between my legs and I slept in the spare bed of course. I got carpel tunnel syndrome down one arm which used to also keep me awake. Lavender oil on the pillow helped to relax me and going to bed early if poss.. Just remember one day it will all be a blur and a distant memory...then when the weeuns arrive so will sleep!!!!!

chopster · 04/07/2007 09:39

madder, Mine are the same, I really want reins that extend like those dog leads you can buy! I try to head for parks that are fairly enclosed. We have one that was good untilt hey learned to vault the fence and head off into the woods! The one with no fence and the lake is a BIG no no!
Do you ahve a homestart volunteer? It is worth contacting them if not. I get two hours a week which ennables me to do things with the dts that I find I need two pairs of hands for.

mommalove, another vote for the pillows. Those big v shaped ones are great too. And I used a herbal thing from boots - it's a lavander pillow spray, and that helped. Smelt lovely too.

largegin, hope your week improves soon!

chopster · 04/07/2007 09:40

the sun is peeking through the clouds, I'm off to legoland, hopefully wear my boys out! Have a good day everyone.

MarsLady · 04/07/2007 17:37

lg&t I haven't... but I'll do some investigating for you. Fret not. All will be well!

Just in from a birth and have a tutorial to go to. Will read properly later (or .... snore..... oops sorry what did you say?....) tomorrow.

Thanks Menagerie... rather than read it why don't I just pop them in a jiffy bag and send them over?

I miss you all, but I have been surrounded by boys for hte last 2 weeks and no time to logon..... i will catch up!

ds1 is off nursery for 4 weeks, dh had holiday last week, this week and next I have a 17 year old boy staying with us to help us out - we have just been busy running around doing stuff! the week after dh is on holiday again!

Funny thing is, this week ds1 is being an adorable angel !!!! I have NEVER seen him like this before and i have fallen totally head over heels in love with him again , and now I'm wondering if the nursery is doing horrible things to him (mixing with the riffraff !).

Huge hugs to you all! Have to go to bed!

estar · 05/07/2007 09:26

Hello girls - sleepless nights, absconding children, fighting multiples and too many drugs - what would we do without this thread to remind us that we are in fact normal and every mum of multiples goes through it?

Big sympathies mommalove. I remember how my hips used to ache from lying on my side all the time and I longed to be on my back ot stomach just for relief.

I have been diagnosed with a kind of SPD but at the back of the pelvis instead of the front (the sacroiliac joints if that means anything to anybody) so currently being held together by a support belt and trying to avoid walking of any kind. Even Sainsbury's last night almost left me for dead.

So why have I agreed to go caravaning to Cornwall in four weeks? I don't know - desperate to get out of the house maybe? I am tempted to hire one of those mobility scooters for a week so I don't hold everybody up, even if I will look like a prat. Any experience anyone?

LG&T - hope Beau is okay. That's the thing with the youngest, he'll pick up all the germs that the older ones are immune to but bring back from school everyday. And as for breaking down cars - aaaaargh! Since your husband has gone back to work, I have resurrected your shrine (I took it down when we moved house :O) so I can pay homage to you everyday. Although I have actually broadened it now for the other parents of TRIPLETS we have recently acquired - girls, you truly are the essence of girl power xxxx

largeginandtonic · 05/07/2007 16:13

Afternoon all,

Hello Estar and Leo nice to hear from you both. I find it so hard to post at the moment but need it so badly. A sort of dictaphone MN service should be set up so i can walk and talk to you lot at the same time

Beau getting over his cold but im still worried about his Pectus Excavatum. Hoping it is not too serious and the Paed will explain more at the hospital when we get the app through.

My car broke again.....have a new battery now so hoping it will be ok, the garage guy seemed to think the alternator was ok. The guy i bought the car from is a prick, he said i didnt have a warranty and he wouldnt fix it. Am still debating on the small claims court but the hassle???

Mommalove hope you are sleeping better.

Chopster i want to go to Legoland, i loved it when we took the twins and dd just after ds#3 was born. It was just fab for their age group.

DH set sail for Holland today Wont see him now for 2 weeks. At least he will be on summer leave when he returns 3 weeks of him home, yay!

menageriekeeper · 05/07/2007 16:35

Mars - Nooooooooooo!!! My three are bad enough! If you read it, you'll recognise it. I wrote the ideal one, and then what actually happens.

I'm feeling a lot brighter today than of late. Went shopping, it actually didn't rain. (shock, horror!) I bought myself a couple of new tops.

Pristine · 05/07/2007 18:54

Hello ladies!!!

Haven't been by in, well, forever, so just consider me a "newbie".

I just had to chime in with the best (worst?) twin question posed to me - "Are you sure they are twins?"

From a woman, no less! "Yes, ma'am, I am sure, I carried them for 36 weeks, felt them kicking various internal organs at the same time, and I was there for the C-section."

largeginandtonic · 05/07/2007 19:44

PMSL Pristine ive had that one too.....

Im sat here clutching a bottle of stella listening to litle Beau yelling at the top of his lungs. Been going on since about 5, am slipping in to the depths of madness.

Just for you Pristine (are you pristine? )

tkband3 · 05/07/2007 20:22

lg&t so sorry to hear Beau (and you) are having such a rough time. No advice to offer I'm afraid, just big hugs (when I first typed that I typed jugs by mistake but think you need Mars for those...). Like Estar I'm in awe of how you manage so wonderfully and so cheerfully.

Welcome Pristine...how old are your twins? Our usual welcoming committee, FG, has abandoned us for the (hopefully) sunnier shores of Majorca for a whole month and I'm no good at baking, so we'll have to wait for Mars for the lemon drizzle cake .

Well, am I mad or am I mad? I've decided to start potty-training the DTs. They're 2.4 and I'm not actually convinced they're ready, but I thought we'd give it a shot. They each chose a new potty this morning and this afternoon they chose some lovely new knickers and a new soft toilet seat (with disney princesses on - you don't get much in our house without barbie, a princess or Fifi on it at the moment ). So we got home and they danced around in their new knickers for a while. Then DT1 managed a wee in the potty - cue lots of applause and sweeties as a reward. She managed another wee in the potty as well as 2 accidents. DT2 just loved putting on and taking off her knickers and sitting on the potty for about 10 seconds, but only managed 2 accidents. DD1 was at a daycare nursery at the appropriate time for her, so I didn't really have to do much in the way of training for her, so I'm not very experienced. Any tips from those who've been through it? Do you think I've started too early?

DD1 has got over her chicken pox - she got off very lightly really...still waiting for the DTs to get it, I'm sure they'll make up for it .

MarsLady · 05/07/2007 21:26

tkb... well done you mad fool! Just keep doing what you're doing.

Pristine... welcome. Have some lemon drizzle cake and some vodka.... I mean tea!

estar etc.............. hello

Am knackered. Had a baby born yesterday (earlier than I expected) and another one due imminently.

So what do you think I'm going to do? Sleep?????????? Oh no.... Thursday night I SALSA!!!!!!!!!!!!

See ya later my darlings!
