So recently found out me and my OH are expecting twins early January! Total shock they will be our first.
Just wondered if anyone wanted to share the journey! Would be nice to have someone to chat to along the way! :)

It's fine, it's nice. I am and imagine will be just feeling very numb until my next appointment. Just literally feel nothing but helpless and it's all I can think about. Will keep you all updated whenever anything new changes or is said etc. Hope you're all feeling well xx

Hey salsa hang on in there xxx

Our spare room needs to be turned into something suitable for babies... it has a big horrible fitted wardrobe which is not useful at all, and we need to find out how much it is going to cost to remove it; there are extra walls and everything in there that probably need to come out. If it's too expensive we might just have to paint the room and recarpet and worry about the wardrobe later. We'll need some new furniture including a sofa bed too in there so that we can still put up guests. Why is everything so £££! At least we dont' have to pay for our medical care here!

Went to look at pushchairs yesterday, got thoroughly confused, I remembered how awesome our baby jogger city mini GT is compared to the other pushchairs I looked at, so now I want the double version, which I'd discounted before as it probably won't fit through our front door. However we have a covered porch outside or could bring it round the side through the patio doors so might be ok... Still need to compare it to the Nipper, hopefully on Saturday with DH, but have discounted the Mountain Buggy for various reasons.

moggle · 27/07/2017 15:42

Well I went for it and just paid for a baby jogger double, £410... brand new in the box so really pleased, they are usually £699 (faint) though on sale at john lewis for £599 at the moment. Got to go pick it up tomorrow. Hoping I don't have second thoughts!!

Hi everyone, just found this post and really wish I'd thought of forums when expecting my twins (now 3 and a half) It's such a lovely little support network and good for advice or ideas. Decided to post with my buggy recommendation after reading 'Heartburn's' post. We chose a mountain buggy duet and absolutely loved it! We got the carrycots for when they were newborn and it fitted in both of our smallish cars absolutely fine. Love the narrow width of it and never had any trouble getting or around anywhere.

thecookies · 27/07/2017 22:39

moggle the jogger double looks lovely, congrats on finding it so cheap.

exhausted you will have to fill us in on all the joys we have to look forward to! any pro tips?

exhaustedtwinmummy · 28/07/2017 08:50

Immediate tips are join TAMBA (some good discounts and loads of info) and see if there's a multiples baby group near you. When I had mine, one was just starting and mine were some of the youngest there. On tough days, I knew if I could get there I would have support of others who'd been through whatever phase it was...and survived it!!! Loved going there

How is everyone getting on? I'm finding the fatigue tough but getting a much rest as possible. I've been looking up twin information websites on how to get organised and how to prepare. I'm beginning to get excited as the weeks roll on. I've been a bit anxious up until now. I have a checkup later in the week so I'm hoping it will be OK.

dangle90 · 01/08/2017 11:07

Hi heartburn. All fine here, but same with the fatigue, not having much energy at all. Looking forward to Thursday where we can hopefully find out the sex... 2nd time lucky! What groups have you been looking at, I need to sign up to tamba as suggested earlier.

Hey, all fine here, v tired as well, but am coping as long as I get to bed early. Thank god the sickness is finally gone.
I've been googling nub theory and decided one of ours is a girl. Can't wait til 20 weeks.. though wondering if they will tell us at 16...
I have found a local twins club and joined that on FB, they also have a selling page which is handy.
I need to look in more detail at Tamba. Most of the discounts I've seen advertised are for shops I never shop in anyway (apart from Clarks but they don't need shoes til they're 1+ anyway!). I've been looking at the antenatal classes, they look good and have one for parents who already have children so that might be handy. More expense though :-(

Iwasjustabouttosaythat · 01/08/2017 11:23

Just wanted to say congratulations and that twins are so great. So, so great! It is hard work but personally I find it easier than the pregnancy. Grin

Enjoy your beautiful life together!

dangle90 · 01/08/2017 11:26

I really thought ours was a girl going by nub theory but not sure now :/ any of you guys want to have a guess if I post pic?
I'm on loads of the selling sites there really good.
So your having a scan at 16 weeks moggle?

OP posts:
moggle · 01/08/2017 11:48

Yes, a 16 week scan at the hospital, and then a few days later I'll meet the twin consultant for the first time. I think i get a scan every 4 weeks.
There's a nice thread in AIBU at the moment with 5 pages of good things about having twins ,if anyone's feeling overwhelmed :-D
I'm going to email myself my scan pics so I can post them. Yeah post yours dangle we'lll have fun guessing!

I'm thinking same as you for yours, the bottom is a girl and I don't really know about the other, I'm leaning towards boy!

Right sorry not bottom

OP posts:
moggle · 01/08/2017 13:07

I would say your top one is a girl based on my understanding... other one is round the wrong way to see I guess.
I am (not so secretly) hoping one is a boy, I think I will need to get my head around it if they are two girls to add to DD :-)
Just going to ask MNHQ to remove my pics now I just realised one has my full name on, doh!

chocolateshortcake · 01/08/2017 14:22

Hi! We have been away sorry. I have my 16 week midwife appt tomorrow but next scan not til 21st. I'm tempted to find out the sexes and dh can't make the appt so he can't convince me not to!!

moggle · 01/08/2017 14:47

Aw lovely babies! chocolate my DH says I'm not allowed to find out the gender without him! I think if they offer at the 16 week scan and he is not there I will ask them to write it down and put it in an envelope for me (I might have to bring my own envelope...)...

dangle90 · 01/08/2017 19:21

No you really can't tell with the bottom one. I did that before and didn't know how to remove it lol! Hopefully you get a scan at 16 weeks we didn't though ours is private.
I think yours looks like 2 boys chocolate! What do you think? I'm so glad my oh wants to find out too I deffo couldn't wait

OP posts:
chocolateshortcake · 02/08/2017 16:37

I think it is two boys as well...i don't really know how it works I just have a feeling that it's boys!! I was convinced that first baby was a girl and he was a boy so I'm good at this clearly!!

dangle90 · 02/08/2017 16:39

Haha I don't either but it's just a feeling. Haha well I'll probably be as good as you at guessing! What do you think to mine chocolate

NewChip · 04/08/2017 22:32

I'm expecting twins too. Due January 30th. My DS will be 5 in September. I'm really not enjoying this pregnancy though, I've been very lucky with no sickness but my hormones are all over the place and I'm not enjoying getting big fast. I'm trying to embrace it but struggling

HeartburnCentral · 08/08/2017 12:16

Welcome NewChip Smile
How is everyone getting on? Love the gorgeous scan pics. Had my scan last week but they didn't say much apart from saying it was obvious that the twins were dcda Hmm and everything looks fine. I've got a rounded bump already so there's no disguising it now.
I thought I felt movement last night but Dh was convinced it was wind Grin

moggle · 08/08/2017 12:36

Hi NewChip. My pregnancy this time is not as fun as the first. I had the classic pregnancy glow with DD, my hair and skin were amazing. This time I've got a face full of spots and my hair is so greasy. Plus most of my maternity clothes don't fit this time and I'm rapidly running out of things to wear, but don't have the money to buy much new / am too tight to buy new stuff when I know I won't use it again nor have the energy to ebay it for years!

Hi heartburn. Which week scan was that, I am losing track of everyone!

HeartburnCentral · 08/08/2017 13:44

Moggle It was 11/12 week scan. It's amazing to see the little hands and legs.I'm not sure if we will find out the sex at a later date. I'm trying to do my pelvic floor exercises to be prepared for when they get bigger. Smile Can't believe I'm nearly in the second trimester. How far along are you? I might need advice on packing the bags Smile
