Hello!
I can see there are a few of us with double the love (maybe triple for some of you?) to arrive next year so thought would be nice to have our own thread to discuss the journey we are all on?
I am 32, we tried for two years to conceive before it turned out we needed IVF. Amazingly, despite them putting two back because they weren't quite where they should be, they both took... we had our scan on Monday and they were amazing to see! One looked like it was kicking and punching the other! I am now 13 weeks :)

Hello all!
Can't believe been so long since I checked in.. huge congratulations snuggly!
Mumofthree those are great weights already! We have gone for mountain buggy duet too!
Mummysara two more boys!!! How lovely.... they will all be so close!
Afm I am 29.2 now, estimated weights 2 weeks ago were 2lb 13 and 2lb 10 so hoping they are over the 3lb mark now. Off work so just making sure all their clothes are washed and house is sorted ready!

bluebird I never had epidurals with my 3 singletons and didn't want one this time, they said they would rather it was placed incase of emergency or it would be a general instead - don't fancy that either! I will be in control of the epidural and will be able to move about, change position etc unless there's a complication. Happy with that!!

elles I'm on maternity leave too and I have washed all the clothes, spring cleaned the kitchen cupboards, made crochet blankets....not sure what to tackle next 😂

SnugglySnerd · 18/04/2017 19:24

Hi everyone, thought I'd check in a see how everyone is doing. That's a good plan to have the epidural in place. I had emcs with DD1 and having it put in whilst having lots of contractions was quite scary as it was hard to keep still.

Think we've hit the dreaded 6 week growth spurt. It's been a looooong day! DS has just inhaled a 6 oz bottle and zonked out in his bouncy chair. I'm leaving him there for now, just pleased he's stopped crying.
Feel like we should be getting a bedtime routine sorted but might wait until this fussy phase passes. We are at least keeping them fairly well synchronized for feeds.

Hope everyone is ok and managing to get some rest.

MumofthreeandBean · 21/04/2017 06:43

I was up hospital all day yesterday, had midwife in the morning and she was concerned about boy twins lack of movement so sent me up hosp.
Turns out that he has moved from head down to transverse breech, legs probably wrapped around his sisters so harder to distinguish.

All seems fine, it was a nightmare!!

Not sure if my birth plans should change now b is transverse breech!?

MSH2010 · 23/04/2017 07:53

Hi all
Just found this thread.
Im 16weeks due 7th October with non identical twins

All I can say is ..... price of buggies.... Sad

MumofthreeandBean · 23/04/2017 09:14

Yes the twin Parma are expensive - do your research!!! Some of them are HUGE!!!

MumofthreeandBean · 23/04/2017 09:14

*Prams

ellesbellesxxx · 23/04/2017 09:18

Mum of 3.. glad everything was ok but eek that sounds awkward twin boy! I went in for reduced movement once to find them all cuddled up together!

Welcome and congrats MSH! I have one word.. eBay ;) we got our mountain buggy off there and it's amazing xx

OP posts:
MumofthreeandBean · 23/04/2017 09:19

Yeah we got the mountain buggy duet with twin carrycots - doesn't fit in the car but it's the smallest side by side available and I love it!!

MSH2010 · 23/04/2017 10:06

Ideally I wanted them side by side as I really dislike the one on the floor one on top.
Went to babys r us yesterday and the new graco duo is really nice, but the 2 car seats on top make it ridiculously expensive
And as the pregnancy was a surprise it's really getting me down

MumofthreeandBean · 01/05/2017 06:47

They are expensive but you can buy 2nd hand. eBay have some great bargains!

36 weeks today! Twins will arrive next week!!!!

bluebird1235 · 01/05/2017 17:29

Hello ladies!

My twins are misbehaving! I'm 29+4 and my waters broke yesterday. Went to hospital to have it all confirmed - twin 1's sac now has most of its water gone but twin 2's is intact. Been transferred to a hospital away from home because the neonatal unit at my hospital was full. It also happens to be a tertiary nicu so hopefully they're even better equipped.

Just being monitored now. Both seem completely OK, heart rates fine, wiggling nicely and I feel ok. Had a few pains this morning that I thought might be contractions but now they've faded a bit and I think might just be awkward pressure.

Both twins currently transverse so if they do decide to come it'll be a c section. Had steroids (ouch!!) and am on antibiotics to prevent infection and just hoping that they'll stay in a bit longer.

Went for a chat with the people in nicu this afternoon and they've made me feel a bit more confident. Got to look around the department too and all seems a bit less scary but it all depends on their state when they come out. Fingers crossed they stay put a while longer!!

MSH2010 · 01/05/2017 18:01

Will be thinking of you bluebird! Good luck x

ellesbellesxxx · 02/05/2017 06:40

Hope you are all ok bluebird xx

Babies arrived this morning. Twin 1 at 03:53 weighing 3lb1 and Twin 2 at 05:01 weighing 3lb7. Both breech but came out naturally. Will give you a better update later as it's been an eventful 24 hours!! Both doing as well as can be expected. Need a little help with breathing but they're already stepping that down so fingers crossed they keep improving! Got various scans today to check for more serious problems so praying for a good outcome there too!

Would post a pic but DH is massively anti social media and would like to keep them off the internet so you'll have to take my word for it that they are both gorgeous! Though I haven't actually seen them in real life yet (except for a couple of glimpses in delivery) as I had to have a spinal block post delivery to get rid of some retained placenta and I'm not able to get up yet!!

MSH2010 · 02/05/2017 13:48

Congratulations Bluebird!!

ellesbellesxxx · 02/05/2017 16:47

Oh wow congratulations bluebird!!!!!!!! Hope they continue to do well xxxxxx

Currently 13 weeks pregnant with non Id twins. This is our last pregnancy and was shocked when we were told there were 2. I am used to the idea now but husband is not. He won't talk to me and is making me feel like this is all my fault. I have thought about selective abortion but I cannot imagine not having both. One twin has got a higher than Ave nuchal reading so we are in for more tests next week. I can't help thinking he wants there to be something wrong so we lose one. I am a mess and don't know what to do/feel 😢

ellesbellesxxx · 06/05/2017 22:31

Hi Emma
Sorry to hear you are having a tough time xxxxx

emmas971 · 07/05/2017 06:10

Thanks ellesbelles! We had a really good chat with some friends last night and that helped massively. I know with some time and hopefully clear test results we can start to enjoy and get excited for our new adventure! X

MumofthreeandBean · 07/05/2017 06:39

Congrats bluebird sorry it's late but I've been preoccupied getting everything ready for my induction on Wednesday - I will be 37.2
I am so nervous!!!
Can't wait to read your birth story and I'm sure little ones will be fine and grow strong!

emma I am sure your partner is in shock, I was when I found out, that and needing more tests will be worrying. Possibly he's worried how you will both cope. Whether it was a planned pregnancy or not you don't really expect 2 babies to appear!
Mine will arrive next week and I am still shocked that I am carrying 2, at every scan we have I expect one to be gone, and it was all a dream.
Look after yourself.

I am 36.6 and as I said I'm being induced next week, I am in agony with my pelvis and really need the end to be near. Both babies are moving well and good sizes from scan last week - 6.5 & 5.14
I spent yesterday in bed, I could barely walk, I'm sure today will be another of the same.

How are you doing elles

ellesbellesxxx · 07/05/2017 11:30

That's good Emma!
It is a shock.. we had ivf and two embryos put back and even then I didn't expect there to be twins! Hopefully once more time has passed and he has got his head around it more then he will be happier :)

Mumofthree I am so jealous you are ready to go!!!!!!!!! My pelvis and back are so sore, can't sleep... crying all the time.. and potentially 3/4 more weeks to go! Seeing consultant tomorrow so going to check that definitely aiming for 37 weeks if go VB. am 33+4 today.. can't believe it's so close!(yet feels so far!) I have been in bed all morning too!
Have you got everything ready to go?

Mrsbluebell17 · 08/05/2017 00:30

Hi all. Can I tentatively join? I went for an early scan last week at 7+2 and was informed the sonographer thinks we may be expecting mono-mono twins but she couldn't be sure. We've been asked back for a rescan this coming weekend to check everything out again and so she can get a second opinion on it.
We're both very excited, this is our first and would be amazing to be blessed with twins, however we are trying not to get excited as we know there are incredibly high risks with mono mono twins, and also understand there's a high risk or vanishing twin syndrome - so all feels a little 'unknown' at the moment.

Hope you don't mind me tentatively joining. Smile

MumofthreeandBean · 09/05/2017 09:16

elles I am very ready now! Heavy and in pain and all is ready for the little munchkins!

mrsbluebell congrats!
Hope all is well at the next scan xxx

SnugglySnerd · 11/05/2017 11:10

Congratulations Bluebird!

Welcome newcomers, sorry to hear you are having a hard time, Emmas. It is a shock finding out there's more than one!

I'm trying to get mine into a routine now. It's hard with a 3yo who keeps popping in to "help" while I'm trying to settle them!
