Hello!
I can see there are a few of us with double the love (maybe triple for some of you?) to arrive next year so thought would be nice to have our own thread to discuss the journey we are all on?
I am 32, we tried for two years to conceive before it turned out we needed IVF. Amazingly, despite them putting two back because they weren't quite where they should be, they both took... we had our scan on Monday and they were amazing to see! One looked like it was kicking and punching the other! I am now 13 weeks :)

I've gained 1 stone so far, I thought that was ok but hubby made out it was loads!!

GilbertBlythe4JM · 02/02/2017 14:01

Hi - can I join?
I'm 14+1 with di di twins after our sixth and final round of ivf. We had a couple of embryos left after round 4 produced dd, so thought we'd chuck them both back, assuming naively it wouldn't work, or if it did, there's no way it'd be twins. Uh oh!
I've had Hyperemesis since week five, have had 8 weeks off work, an on 4 different anti emetics, but thanks to me doggedly drinking full fat milk after I throw up, I've somehow out on a stone! I'm really short so I'm at that stage of looking really square. Can't wait for a nice round bump. Also can't wait to function like a normal person. Have taken to stuffing tissues up my nose so smells (anything - literally anything - cold air did it yesterday) don't trigger the vomiting!

MumofthreeandBean · 05/02/2017 14:45

Hi gilbert
Mine are di-di too - though my notes say dc-da which I read on the internet is the same thing, I guess different areas note it differently 🙄

I've been feeling awful the last week, dizzy, sick and aches and pains, I think the dizziness is a virus as my blood pressure and iron levels were fine 😕

MumofthreeandBean · 10/02/2017 05:00

Twin growth scan yesterday, now I can't sleep, nothing bad happened but I just feel down 😕
For a start the scan was very quick and we couldn't get any pics ☹️ she didn't even look at the little faces 👶🏻👶🏼
Measurements show :
Twin 1 boy weighing 1lb 11 - breech
Twin 2 girl weighing 1lb 09 - head down

After a long wait we saw the consultant - he was happy with everything, said I had to get used to the dizziness I've been suffering 😵
When I asked about Twin 1 being breech and the presenting twin he just told me not to worry, we will deal with it at 36 weeks, if I get that far.

Now I'm a little scared, I'm 24.4 and I know there is plenty of time but I don't want to go into labour with a bottom at the front of the queue! What if I don't get to hospital on time? We live near 2 hrs away through traffic!!!

Streaky17 · 10/02/2017 07:23

Mumof those are good weights I think, mine were very similar at 25 weeks (+3 on second). Its a bugger about the dizziness if it does continue-i hope it doesn't for you.

Front of the queue! Ha ha. Nothing else to suggest re the distance to hospital. Or if they will turn. Did you have quick labours before? Or did you have plenty of warning?

Hi new people, welcome!

Elles have you had any kicks yet?

MumofthreeandBean · 10/02/2017 14:29

Last labour was 6 hours but induced - still worried- guess I will just have to see what happens

GilbertBlythe4JM · 10/02/2017 15:17

I'm hoping Beyoncé and Amal are going to join this thread soon Smile

SnugglySnerd · 11/02/2017 11:39

I've been wondering that too, Gilbert!
Mumof don't worry I've had weekly scans and one or other or both has been breech each time but they keep swapping round.

I'm booked in for mg c section in about 4 weeks. Starting to feel more organised in terms of having washed all DD's old clothes, sheets etc but starting to worry about the actual logistics of coping with twin babies and a preschooler. I have no idea what I'm doing about sleep, feeding etc. Plan for next week is research!

MumofthreeandBean · 11/02/2017 15:27

snuggly
How many weeks will you be when you have section? When did they decide?

I think we will just manage with twins and other kids because we have too.

MumofthreeandBean · 11/02/2017 15:30

Also how is the twins growth now? Was the scan ok??

SnugglySnerd · 11/02/2017 16:30

Yes all ok now thanks, one is still smaller but has caught up a bit. I was 33 weeks when they booked the c section and will be 37+4 when it happens. I had emcs last time which is why they are keen for it to be planned this time.

MumofthreeandBean · 14/02/2017 11:10

Pleased little one is catching up - I wish we could have a little window to peek through when we are worried!!

twinnymummy16 · 16/02/2017 21:49

Hello twinny mummies to be, congratulations! I hope you don't mind me joining, I have 3mth old Twinny babies. A boy and girl born spontaneously, and naturally at 35 weeks! When I was pregnant with them I was sooo sick up till 29 weeks! How are you finding the sickness?

MumofthreeandBean · 17/02/2017 05:08

PrincessPayne · 17/02/2017 22:22

MummySara · 18/02/2017 04:12

Hi Ladies, can u join? I posted on this thread to ask whether your pregnancies stood out incomparison to your singleton pregnancies. Typically fat finger syndrome led to the text not making any sense and i did not get any replies. I would like to share my story as its 4am. Terrifed from the google searches. I am 9+4 days. I had my registration appt today. I booked day off work and booked a reassurance scan privately....im very impatient. The scan picked up 3 sacs! Yes 3! However only 2 heartbeats were found. Baby 1 measured 10w. Baby 2 measured 9+5, with hr being 175 and 173. Baby 3 measured 7+4 weeks. I was soo happy to be twice blessee. Naturally concieved but i will be 37 this year. I am terrifed that another baby will die. I had no bleeding, but i have been unwell with cough and havent gone to the drs or taken anything. I am wriggled with guilt. I have my dating scan on 7th march. I was tokd the 3rd sac wont be picked up than. So if i never had this scan i would have never known. Iv googled and vanishingvtwin is common. Also read twin safety stage is 24 weeks. Not 12 like singleton pregnancies. As i said im terrified. I suspected i had a twin preg, call his mother intuation. I just knew. I have a 3y ds. Im just worried. Any advice will help. Congrats to you all. BlushCakee

MummySara · 18/02/2017 04:22

My husband burst into tears when i told him about the 3rd sac. Really threw me, he is a man that i have not seen cry to anyone. On a lighter note, i saved everything from my sons preg, but what is the norm with cots? Moses basket do we need two? Husband is stressing on cost already. Better start saving! Im so happy i kissed and hugged the sonographer. I cant sleep with all this news

bluebird1235 · 18/02/2017 17:19

Hi MummySara and congratulations! I don't have a huge amount of useful advice to offer. I'm currently 19 weeks with my first and they are di-di (separate sacs and placentas) and it's also my first pregnancy so I'm basically just working this out myself! Do you know what kind of twins yours are?

What I would say is this - try and stay away from Google. It's great in some situations but I found that early on in my pregnancy I got really carried away reading horror stories online and convinced myself that disaster was imminent.

I had a bit of early bleeding and discovered the twins at an emergency scan at 6 weeks. Like you I was very worried about vanishing twin syndrome. I was so worried early on and with the bleeding it made me panic a lot. Eventually I managed to come to terms with the fact that there really is nothing we can do about it. Nothing you can do will make a difference to what will happen. The best thing you can do now is rest, try to relax and if you're feeling anything like I did at that stage then eat!!

I really hope it goes well for you Smile

MumofthreeandBean · 20/02/2017 19:13

Hi 👋🏼
This is my 4th pregnancy and I knew I was pregnant with twins from early on, it was confirmed at my dating scan at 13.1 - di-di
I was sick from conception, my hair started moulting very early on, I was showing earlier, I got a stretch mark at 8 weeks!
Now I am 26 weeks and I am more tired than other pregnancies, bigger, and I feel further on than I am.

Congrats on the twins and sorry about the 3rd sac

ellesbellesxxx · 26/02/2017 08:58

Hi mummysara!
Huge congratulations although so sorry to hear about 3rd baby xx
This is my only pregnancy (IVF) so I have nothing to compare it to but I do think the twin aspect made me even more anxious... it's literally only now I am feeling them kick(took until 23weeks!) I am starting to relax and enjoy it.
I unfortunately made the mistake of googling everything.. so I know it's easy for me to say DONT but it didn't help my anxiety.

We found out it was twins at 6 w 5 when we had our IVF viability scan.. but I had been as sick as a dog since 5 weeks. I am now just doing half days at work and potentially being signed off early as I am physically struggling with driving and my job (teacher)

Money wise we have lent a LOT so don't need to buy much at all. We are only buying one lot of nursery furniture to start and putting them in together! We will see how long that lasts!

Got the mountain buggy duet off eBay for a bargain £420(inc two carrycots which we will sell on when we don't need them)
