Hello!
I can see there are a few of us with double the love (maybe triple for some of you?) to arrive next year so thought would be nice to have our own thread to discuss the journey we are all on?
I am 32, we tried for two years to conceive before it turned out we needed IVF. Amazingly, despite them putting two back because they weren't quite where they should be, they both took... we had our scan on Monday and they were amazing to see! One looked like it was kicking and punching the other! I am now 13 weeks :)

Congratulations. I have identical boys and they are 11 months. It really is magical. The pregnancy was worrying but we got there and to be honest the past year has just flown by. I may not sleep or get out much but it is just so lovely to see them play together. I remember seeing them on the scans and just being in disbelief! I'm still in shock now really Flowers

SnugglySnerd · 06/01/2017 12:42

Can I join you please? Expecting fraternal twins, I'm 29 weeks today but look full term! Been suffering a lot with PGP and I'm now on weekly monitoring as they are not growing quite as well as they should be. I'm trying to decide whether to finish work in 3 weeks as planned or whether to finish a bit sooner and get some rest. I already have a DD who is nearly 3 so will only really get to put my feet up on days when she's at nursery!

MumofthreeandBean · 06/01/2017 14:36

snuggly
I would give up now if you are able too, I have decided to see how I go as I am self employed.

MumofthreeandBean · 13/01/2017 08:07

Had my 20week scan yesterday, all good, boy measuring bigger than girl, both feet down at the moment.
Was lovely seeing them again.
How is everyone else getting on?

Streaky17 · 13/01/2017 12:09

Great news mumofthreeandbean ! Glad it went well. When do they scan next with fraternals?

I'm a bit tired as this is my first week back at work after the break. But overall doing OK. Started aquanatal and pregnancy yoga this week, but i really need to start some other form of home exercise just to do something active.
I'm starting to feel a bit of movement Smile too.

MumofthreeandBean · 13/01/2017 16:36

Next scan is at 24weeks. I will have them monthly until 36 weeks if everything's ok.

I'm thinking about pregnancy yoga but I'm not a sporty/yoga type person 😂

SnugglySnerd · 16/01/2017 19:14

Not checked in for a while, still at work, only 2 weeks left including this week and I reckon I can do it! They have given me the boss' parking space right outside the door, I feel quite special!
On weekly scan at the moment to keep an eye on growth and also the amount of fluid which is slightly raised for one twin.
mumofthree I'm really enjoying pregnancy yoga and it is really helping my back, I'd recommend it!

Fieldandgrasses · 17/01/2017 16:29

Hello,

Just wanted to say hello. I'm 11 weeks with twins, due early August!

MumofthreeandBean · 18/01/2017 16:49

Hi!
How are you feeling? Any sickness?
Do you know what type of twins?

ellesbellesxxx · 18/01/2017 18:32

Hello all,
Majorly behind on my mumsnetting so having a catch up!
Mum of three.. glad all went well with scan! I am not remotely sporty either but quite enjoyed the pregnancy yoga.. we lay down in a relaxed pose while she did some lovely visualisation... had to choke back tears as It was all about bringing your baby home sob!

Streaky glad all ok, and you are so lucky to have aqua natal near you! I can't find anything locally :( I bet it's really relaxing?

Snuggly Oo special parking space v nice! So you are working until 32 weeks? Wow! I have said 29 weeks but then it's easter hols so would get paid unTil almost 32. Seriously though I am so tired now, I will have to play It by ear! Hope the fluid levels even out

Fieldandgrasses welcome!!!!! How you feeling?

Lolly hope you are ok x

Afm just counting down the 13 days until anomaly scan, plus 12 days until consultant... 18 weeks today!

SnugglySnerd · 18/01/2017 20:16

Yes, working to 32 weeks although my replacement has already started and picked up a lot of my workload so it hasn't been too bad. I'm more concerned about how we are going to be ready at home!

Fieldandgrasses · 19/01/2017 06:00

Hello,

Thanks for the welcome! Feeling very well indeed (same as first pregnancy really). Bit shattered for a few weeks but fine now. Nervous about Harmony test results and 12 week scan next week! I have two placentas and two sacs, so di-di I think?

Sobering to read about when you're all finishing work, I'm self-employed at home (desk based) and hadn't realised I'd need to stop quite so early!

Lovely to meet you all.

MumofthreeandBean · 19/01/2017 06:56

My twins have 2 placenta and 2 sacks - can't remember what it's called 😂
I am having a girl and a boy 😊

I have had the harmony test as a research patient, they want to see how accurate it is with twins/multiples before allowing it properly. I should get my results today/tomorrow - I was low risk on the NHS test, I'm only doing this for science 😂
20.3

ellesbellesxxx · 19/01/2017 07:13

Field I do some self employed work from home too which I will keep doing as long as possible... its v flexible so I can pick and choose which is nice! I am struggling with 40 min commute... does anyone else feel uncomfortable after driving?xx

OP posts:
SnugglySnerd · 19/01/2017 08:29

I think I'd last a bit longer working from home. I'm a teacher so on my feet a lot plus it's a really long way from my classroom to the toilet!!
If desk-based could you sit on an exercise ball? I'm finding that helps my back a lot.
Scan today. I've been on weekly monitoring since the start of Jan because of slow growth. Fingers crossed all is ok!

bluebird1235 · 19/01/2017 16:52

I'm self employed and work from home most of the time too, and a lot of my work is for clients overseas who I have never met in real life!

I have two placentas and two sacs too (di-di) and I've nearly learnt how to say dichorionic without pausing massively now too!

My biggest problem at the moment is back ache - just hurts when I sit in any chair that isn't a sofa for more than a couple of hours. I might try sitting on my ball tomorrow to see if that makes it better!

Ponyboycurtis · 19/01/2017 17:02

Hello - i just wanted to pop on and wish all of you a collective 'congratulations', i'm a mum of 7yr old ID girls. Its brilliant and full of fun. Dont be nervous, for those if you who are first time Mums - you've got nothing to compare it to so its your 'normal'. Dont listen to any negative stuff (easier said than done I know!) and just enjoy your precious packages X

Oh and its really NOT Double Trouble but it is Twice the Fun!

SnugglySnerd · 19/01/2017 19:00

That's lovely of you to say, pony, thank you.

Scan not great, one baby at top of chart, other at bottom. Have to have more tests and scans including a scary sounding fetal medicine scan. Not sure what that means but doctor told me not to worry - easier said than done!

Off to scour the multiples board for useful info or advice...

MumofthreeandBean · 19/01/2017 21:14

snuggly don't google it!! It will cause worry! The dr knows what they are doing!
Rest and take care x

Whitelisbon · 19/01/2017 21:40

Congratulations to you all - my fraternal twins are 3.2 and wild! It's hard work but oh so worth it, especially when you get to snuggle with 2 at once!
Snuggly try not to worry too much, mine were the same, size wise, but they measured 8 days apart at 12 weeks. My consultant came to see me on the ward after they were born, and said she reckoned they were conceived a week apart, which explains the size difference (6lb 5oz and 5lb 9oz at birth).
They're both fit and healthy now Grin
Good luck to you all Flowers

SnugglySnerd · 20/01/2017 17:50

Thanks Whitelisbon that's really interesting and reassuring. Scary detailed scan not for 2 weeks so the doctor can't be too concerned.

Streaky17 · 25/01/2017 10:59

Try not to worry snuggly (easier said than done - I know)

Is anyone else experiencing the hunger? But not really wanting to eat at the same time...

We are getting organised with maternity leave and baby stuff. Starting to feel real.

Fieldandgrasses · 27/01/2017 05:00

I just had my dating scan, still two there! Excited and terrified in equal measure!

MumofthreeandBean · 01/02/2017 15:48

Any more news snuggly?

I'm 23.2 today and been having dizzy spells on and off, with that and all my other complaints I'm getting to be a nightmare to live with I'm sure 😕
Midwife tmw, I have a list of ailments to mention.
24weeks scan next Thursday, I bet they have grown lots! I'm certainly getting hard kicks and ounces now!!

MumofthreeandBean · 01/02/2017 15:49

That is supposed to say punches 😂
