A new thread!
Especially for throckenholt

I was hoping the original one would go to 1000, but it was gettign a but annoying scrolling all the way done, so come over here instead.

How is everyone coping with the school holidays?

I'm fed up with the rubbish weather, as we're stuck in the house too much. I daren't take them to soft play as it packed during the hols and then I can't watch all four of them. Plus it costs a fortune.
Mine are changing so much. Rav is becoming a right wuss, scared of new places. I suppose it shows awareness, but it is annoying when I've driven miles for a nice day out and he just wants to sit and whine because he is too scared to go on anything! Shay is developing his houdini skills, and now has a tendancy to bolt out of parks so I have to watch him like a hawk. I must dig out the reins before we go on holiday.

LOL - I once left a big bag of maltesers in the sitting room (forgot about them, otherwise wouldn't have been so daft!) and was tidying upstairs, listening to the noises of DTs playing downstairs, then it all went quiet...I went to investigate and found them sat next to each other on the fireplace sharing a bag of maltesers, chocolate all over their clothes, faces, carpet, new stone hearth - I never knew there was that much chocolate on a malteser! At least they were sharing...!

throckenholt · 06/11/2006 13:13

when does the sharing wear off ? Mine are so cute - they always share food - especially their ill gotten gains - with each other. One in particular has the habit of locking himself in the bathroom with his booty. Sometimes he can be persuaded to open the door - mouth full of whatever it was and hotly denying he was doing anything at all .

I think the dawning realisation that the quiet is not good (as you were blissfully imagining), but rather indicates some forbidden activity by the DTs.

Mine are currently working in relays for the night waking shift - they each do one night in 3 - it means they get to sleep 2 out of 3 nights, and I get to sleep 0 out of 3. Hmmmm

Welcome whizz! My god, I've said it once today already but FFS GET A TELLY!!!!

I love DT stories , the mess, the mess...... my DT1 tried to change DT2's nappy the other day , just caught her in the nick of time, it wasn't a wet one.....

Mars, actually I loved the line "equivocation... permission to lie under oath to protect yourself and the Catholic faith". I'm not religious at all but I love that line and may quote it regularly if I may?

My DTs have managed to amaze me once again today...as predicted they wanted to watch CBeebies, managed to hold them off til after lunch, settled down to get some serious internet shopping done (not housework as intended obviously) - they turned it off after 20 mins and said it was rubbish, can we do something else please at which I had to fight the temptation to say NO get the TV back on. What is the world coming to?????

frumpygrumpy · 07/11/2006 10:18

Think they'd like OU......

frumpygrumpy · 07/11/2006 10:37

earlysbird · 07/11/2006 11:28

Its ok, normal service has been resumed, first words as we got in from music group this morning 'can we watch a bit of telly?' phew!

tracykb · 07/11/2006 13:40

Sorry mars, fg, kelly, hm, dd and everyone else I've forgotten. Had a disaster last week where OH broke the computer so was out of contact for waaaaay too long. Then have been having HELLISH time with DTs who have not been sleeping and been tired, whingy, clingy during the day. Also had runny bums because of new pcv jab last week - so have been feeling v. sorry for myself - but didn't want to scare any new twin-mums-to-be!!

Anyway, after lots of controlled crying (or was it just crying!), last night they slept till 6.20am - and I couldn't get out of bed because my back hurt!

Have to go and do something nice with DD1 whilst DTs sleep - have been bribing her, sorry incentivising her, to nap the last few days as have been so knackered, but feel ok enough not to today. Oh and must boast - have lost 1 STONE on slimming world ,

Overrun · 07/11/2006 13:45

Hi everybody, lovely to catch up with your news, I can't do links, but if any one wants a giggle about twins and the naughty things they get up to, have a look at my "Another day from hell.........." thread on CHAT.
Should have put it here first really.
If you read the thread, you will know why I am asking this but does any one know where you can get babygroes/sleepsuits for two year olds?

JuA · 07/11/2006 14:20

Just waved dh off - he is on his way to London to take the last (I hope) of his exams. So lots of positve vibes for tomorrow and Thursday please

My 2 have discovered the joys of playing in boxes - they sat in a box together for over half an hour yesterday - so cute!

Kelly - hope ds1 is on the mend.

Overrun - I think tescos do body suits in size 2-3 yrs, not sure about babygros though.

largeginandtonic · 07/11/2006 16:54

Hello all, mothercare do babygros for 2 year olds, they are also massive sizes so take them out the packet before you buy!

Overrun · 07/11/2006 18:46

Thanks for the info, I had ditched all that in favour of a slightly less stressful bedtime routine, but needs must. What size do they go up to, just out of interest?
My dts are not that big, so probably get the next size down anyway, but they must stop doing them when children tend to get to the age of not wearing nappies at night. Can you imagine trying to go to the toilet in the night and having to undo all those buttons

MarsLady · 07/11/2006 19:21

Well done Tracykb! And well done for stopping that lurking nonsense.

Now to look for Overrun's thread!

frumpygrumpy · 07/11/2006 19:22

Just nipping over to your thread as I'm intrigued by the babygrow chat.......must be something to do with poo.....

MarsLady · 07/11/2006 19:30

Here is overrun's OP on her stinky (and I use the word advisedly) thread:

This is very long, but need to talk about it and very yukky.
Yesterday I got yet another migraine, that was bad enough. It was agony, and when I stood up I had flashing lights and strange sensations up and down my arms. I was panicing a bit as I was due to pick my oldest up from Nursery, and didn't feel safe to drive.

the thread in all it's gory (again I use the word advisedly) lol
I started to ring round every one, and predictably couldn't get hold of anyone, so I decide to go and get the dts up, and while I am getting their coats on think who else I can call. If it comes to it, I thought I would just have to drive.
I opened the door to their room and the stench of shit just hit me. I immediately start to dry heave and this triggers a massive coughing session which in turn goes into a full blown Asthma attack. (My Asthma is really bad atm).
I end up collapsed on the bathroom floor struggling to breath. Every time I started to recover I would get another hit through their bedroom door.
In the end I managed to get downstairs to get my inhaler and managed to ring the nursery to say some one would pick ds1 up, and then got my Dad to go and get him.
Thankfully, I then got hold of dh who said he would come home. It all sounds so farcical now, but it was just horrendous.
While I waited, dts were getting really distressed about being left, and I ended up on the stairs, inhaler in one hand and a coat over my head (for pain and to protect me from the smell), trying to feebly call some reassurance {grin]
It took my dh all afternoon and evening to clean the room. He had to dismantle their cots, as it was all over the slats, the screws etc It was also over their bedding, and the walls and floor (they had both thrown them off so their was lots of spray).
How revolting [blush}

frumpygrumpy · 07/11/2006 19:32

Oh overrun, I don't know whether to laugh or cry for you . Scary, distressing, sad, awful all come to mind.....but I guess in a couple or ten years you will laugh. How are you now? How's the head? I know you get the PMT crap I get and, funnily enough, I took my first migraine last week. Hope its better x.

frumpygrumpy · 07/11/2006 19:33

How are you today Mars? Dancing this fine evening?
