James had a fantastic time, just him and the pilot. flying in a tiny aircraft at 12.000ft for 35 mins! Even did a loop the loop! He didn`t get back until 9.30pm, long day! Thomas is enjoying himself at boot camp!

triplets · 27/04/2014 00:01

MultipleMama · 27/04/2014 00:48

Morning girls xx

MiniSoksMakeHardWork · 28/04/2014 12:18

Afternoon! Twins fell asleep in their bedroom while I was making lunch - Josh got in his bed and covered himself up with his favourite cuddly. Jen fell asleep snuggled at the bottom of James' bed. They've had a busy morning. Bathed them straight after school run as they didn't have one yesterday and were utterly grim then they've played while I tidied up. Jen even cleared a shelf of books in their room, climbed in and laid down there! So now need to fix the backboard on properly so the shelf doesn't collapse!!

Afternoon ladies. It seems that the coma and cooling is working!! The swelling is going down at a pleasing rate! :) He's still critical but the doctors are now hopeful.

Hello, lovely ladies.

Spoken with Halo's neurophysiologist and neurologist this evening and they are pleased with how well he is responding to this method. They say the damage is permanent however he is young and his brain is still developing that his brain with accomadate and pick up the slack and other parts of his brain will take over. He will need physiotherapy for his left side and he may always have trouble in some aspects but they are optimistic that he can and will make a full recovery. We spoke to a pedeatric physiotherapist who deals with children like Halo and talked us through our options. All of his care team are weary but optimistic! I am so f**king relieved! Ignore my French!! Grin Grin.

As of right now they are warming him up gradually and hopefully by Wednesday he will be ready to be "roused" and then we just wait for him to wake up and he'll remain on ICU. I cannot wait to see his big green eyes staring at me! :) :)

Also spend the morning with the DC making pictures for Halo. Also took them swimming (the swimming club didn't know what hit 'em! Grin).

I can admit with a lump in my throat we were very very close to losing him on Sunday, the situation was very dier and at one point a nurse asked us about last rites. So glad that I can now say, he's critial but on the mend :)

MiniSoksMakeHardWork · 29/04/2014 07:50

Oh mama. Your little halo has your tenacity! I'm so sorry you are having to go through all this. My heart aches for you being so split between needing to be with Apollo and the others. Hoping warming your lil Eskimoo goes well and recovery follows swiftly.

that is fab news, mama!

I am putting dd up for adoption. She has a habit, of getting together with her friends and a simple playdate turns into a huge gala event involving me running around after her. Last time she went out for an hour, then decided she was staying out til 9.30 and needed picking from 5 miles away. Time before she went out for tea, then it turned into a sleepover and I had to drop her things. You get the general picture!
Today I get home to fnd her friend is here, the one who is vegi who was supposed to be coming fri, dd is supposed to be grounded, and I had planned meatballs for dinner. And dd's room is a shithole.

I ran 4 miles this morning, i then cycled 15 miles to pick up some easter eggs the kids had wanted, I was planning an easy dinner, and roping dd in to help. Now I am cooking three separate fucking dinners while she sits up in her shithole with her friend. Aaargh!

MiniSoksMakeHardWork · 29/04/2014 19:42

How old is dd chops?

Well it's been a shit day here too, apart from 15 minutes spent baking packet (bleurgh) Thomas cakes with James. He's spent the cay pushing the babies around, literally, and head butting/kicking/licking me.

Dh came home and rang his parents to see if they could have James tomorrow night. He's also on about increasing his nursery hours. I'm so torn with that one. I don't want him to feel he's being shipped out but...

14 in June. Old enough to know better! :)

Does he enjoy nursery?

triplets · 29/04/2014 23:51

grrrrrrr my dd is also driving me insane..............I really really am so fed up with her atm. Its her eating habits! She is getting worse, she wont eat potatoes, any veg except beetroot, no fruit, no eggs, no fish, no sandwiches unless the come from Subway "cos theirs are really nice". She went out from school with her friends, into town. Came home at 6pm and said she didnt want any supper, they had bought nachos in Subway, so she has had nothing tonight, I really dont know what to do with her. Shell eat sweets, crisps etc until the cows come home, I am going to really cut back on buying things like that, but I don`t see why the 4 of us who all eat very well and healthily should not have the odd treat because of her!! OMG to think it may have been three girls....

MultipleMama · 30/04/2014 00:36

Trips, that doesn't sound healthy at all. She's not binge eating is she? Is there a reason why she doesn't eat other, has she talked to you about why she doesn't like them? I wonder if you would benefit a visit to the GP just ask their advice and discuss her eating habits.

You could always put a lock on a treat cupboard Grin.

Chopstheduck · 30/04/2014 06:31

:( Trips. Girls are def harder. It's been like a mexican stand off with dd over cereal at breakfast. I'm winning so far. When she tried to avoid eating it, it got trotted out again at lunch time. You should have seen her face! She still tries to sneak it back, or give it to the others though. I've started hiding the box. There isn't any self service in our house, so that helps - she can't just go grab something else. The list of things she doesn't like has grown ever longer though. I just ignore it now. She wants to eat shit constantly too.

Estar has posted on her blog here I don't know how she keeps going, I really don't :(

Oh dear chops. Must be a 14yo thing as my sister is having problems with her eldest too. She was called into school the other day, in a not good way. But we don't know why yet. I just hope she's not being stupid as she risks her vocational placement for the next couple of years - the school have agreed she can take a day a week but still has to keep up. Of she doesn't, then they won't let her do it. And it is a)something she really, really wants to do and b) will be good for her to get away from some of the problems at home that one day a week and be where she is happy.

The food thing is horrid trips (I think). Again, 14yo niece was found to be exercising after every single meal but in secret. And eats like a sparrow too. But my sister has decided they all eat breakfast and tea together so she knows she is getting at least two meals in her, and she distracts her from exercising by giving her chores to do in a 'can you help mum' way, so she can keep an eye on her for at least half an hour after meals. Obv it's not foolproof, and I did have to remind my sister that my parents went through similar with her not eating her school lunch - hiding it or binning it on the way home. But it's hard when there are so many pressures on young men and women these days to look good.

Had a letter through the post today, the twins have been accepted to the daycare programme we applied for! :) They will attending 5/7 mornings all through the school term. :) Pretty excited!

Also, I've just realised how long the summer holidays are in our state... just over 8 weeks long! Shock Shock

triplets · 01/05/2014 17:42

:) James passed the second part of his interview today, 50% there to becoming a Royal Marine bandsman!! :)

MultipleMama · 01/05/2014 18:58

That's brill news, Trips. I bet he's really chuffed :)

MiniSoksMakeHardWork · 02/05/2014 04:16

Congratulations mama of getting your dc's place on the childcare programme. Will be nice for you and for them. Dts started preschool last week (mine takes from 2 years) and they love it. Jen tantrums when we walk past if she's not staying. Dreading drop James and Joshua tomorrow. Might just have to put Jen in the pushchair to make it easier on me.
