Evening ladies. Since we're at 999 now. Was feeling reflective tonight.

Hope things are soon looking better for you and your little lad Mamma. Very worrying time for all of you I can imagine.

So tomorrow at 2pm we send 'our Harry' on his final journey. He wrote down what he wanted at his funeral. It will be a non religious funeral....he put on his 'wish list' that he didnt want any God botherers Grin

Dan, Nathan (my nephew), Tom and my brother will carry his coffin, and his 3 grandsons and myself and my brother will all talk about him - Tom has his all written down - I have sneaked a look at it and I cried when I read it!!!! He wanted everybody to wear something sky blue (for Manchester City) I have got a Man City scarf that I will tie around my handbag.....Emma had nothing sky blue but she found some sky blue nail varnish!! Smile

triplets · 14/04/2014 23:08

I will be there with you in spirit on such a sad day, how is your Mam, does she realize what is happening? I know how you will feel at the cemetery, both my parents are buried directly in front of Matthew, it really is a hearbreaking seeing them buried and seeing your childs name already there ahead of them. I will be thinking of you as always, my very dear friend. xx

shabbs · 14/04/2014 23:18

Mum is happy as larry in the nursing home and finally putting some weight on. I dont know how she will be tomorrow.......she hasnt mentioned my Dad since we told her. Maybe that is a blessing? Think she may be overwhelmed by all the old familiar faces that will be there. Without sounding very weird I hope she enjoys seeing old friends xx

triplets · 15/04/2014 00:24

No that's not weird Shabs that's lovely. I have always noticed at funerals how once the service is over, people hug and talk and catch up, they share memories and often laughter, its healing. xx

Chopstheduck · 15/04/2014 07:16

Morning ladies xx

Good luck with the funeral today, shabs. The plans sound lovely, and I'm sure you will all do your dad very proud.
I'm glad your mum is doing so well at the nursing home too. Is there any chance of a permanent placement there?

Bubby, that is good, you need some time off!

Mama, sorry to hear that Apollo has been poorly, hope he is better soon. xx

Soks, reading about J reminds me so much of when mine were small! Hope he does give u a bit of a break over easter though. :)

Waves to Rubes x

I had a wonderful time skiing with dd last week. The weather was gorgeous, we both have tans. The food was gourmet swiss traditional, and the hotel was lovely with a balcony overlooking the slopes. The skiing was a bit slushy on the lower slopes, but fantastic higher up. I didn't want to come back home! Then at the weekend we went up to Norfolk to collect ds1 and had a nice weekend with my parents. Back to reality with a bump now - and dd has barely been seen since we got back home!

Looking forward to Easter weekend now, it's nice after a break to have my family all back together again.

The sun was shinning all day - a perfect cloudless blue sky.

My sons have made me burst with pride today. They carried their grandad along with my nephew and brother.....they lowered him into the ground in the grave next door to their brothers. They spoke at his service - they spoke with confidence and love. There were very, very few tears - but plenty of laughter at their funny memories.

I am beyond proud of them......way, way beyond proud.

bubby64 · 15/04/2014 23:18

Oh Shabs- I am so, so glad it all went well, and your Harry was remembered with love and laughter. The poem was lovely, and so very true.

triplets · 15/04/2014 23:22

So.........the day is done, Dad is free...........no more pain. You start again on a new life, a new path, out of the darkness and into the sunshine.............I hope your life can be less stressful xx

triplets · 16/04/2014 07:24

Goodmorning.........big day! Off in an hour to take Thomas booted and suited for his interview to join the Army...........can`t believe this is all happening!

Chopstheduck · 16/04/2014 07:53

Oh wow, good luck Thomas!

Glad it all went well, shabs. It sounded a truly lovely service. :)

Did a 13.5 mile bike ride with the dts yesterday, quite proud of them for managing all that, especially with a 2 hour footy session in the middle! I dropped them there and cycled to town and back while they were playing. Today the three boys are going to Halfords for a cycle servicing course, and then off to footy again in the afternoon. I'm looking forward to a nice run in the sun!

Hope Apollo is doing well, mama x

shabbs · 16/04/2014 08:14

Morning girls xx

I have the hangover from hell Envy my dear friend Chelle came to Dads funeral - sat at the back so she could cry in peace!! She too lost her Dad - many years ago. She MADE me drink.....I swear I didnt want to!!!

My phone just started ringing - Danny asking could I let Lew in because Im looking after him.............Sat here nodding at all Lews questions - 7am is too early to wake a drunken woman up.

shabbs · 16/04/2014 08:15

Awww Trips - how did our 'babies' get to be teenagers???

MultipleMama · 16/04/2014 10:03

Glad the service was lovely, Shabs and that the well held out too :)

Trips, he's growing up so much! I hope the interview goes well!

Chops, it's been awhile since I've done exercise besides walking. I miss my bike! Glad your boys are doing good.

Bubs, still no idea where they caught it. Hope the job is treating you good

Hello, Ruby & Soks :)

Halo is finally settled into his new "space" on the ICU. He's pretty ill... he no longer has head control, he cannot follow with his eyes, he can no longer swallow, his grip reflex/hold has gone (he can't grab my fingers or hold toys), and he either sleeps, screams or fits. He's still on CPAP and OG tube. They've put him on antivirals, anticonvulsants and pain relief so it's just a wait and assess the damage situation now....

MiniSoksMakeHardWork · 16/04/2014 20:59

Oh mama. Apollo is such a little fighter.

OP posts:
triplets · 16/04/2014 23:07

Mama..........you must be feeling very scared, he is still so tiny, I hope tomorrow you give us better news, poor little boy xx

Well Thomas passed :) felt very proud of him. That's just the first hurdle though, next he`s off to Hampshire on a taster course. Then theres the medical side followed by another interview! Good start though :)

triplets · 17/04/2014 07:55

Last to bed and first up! Morning all :)

shabbs · 17/04/2014 08:47

I was up early Trips!! Got Lew here today. Music channel blaring out and Lew dancing around without a care in the world!! Going up to see Mum when he has gone home - so a full day. xxx

MiniSoksMakeHardWork · 17/04/2014 20:43

I wonder if we will be taking James
To the dr tomorrow, or possibly a&e? He fell/tripped/knelt on something. I wasn't in the room. Dh didn't see what happened and all James can tell us is he was carrying two dumper trucks at the time. But the little sausage is refusing to walk, wanted me to carry him upstairs, screams whenever he tried to stand and won't lean on it. But there appears to be no swelling and nothing other than a red mark. Have given him calpol and hoping he is fine in the morning otherwise I can see this being a repeat of when he fell and hurt his arm.

OP posts:
triplets · 17/04/2014 22:19

Oooo hope James is ok Soks, A&E on a Bank Holiday is never good news. Mama how is our little soldier today? I need some beauty sleep, off to a posh wedding tomorrow at a castle, my nieces. Be nice to see us all dressed up, cant remember the last time. Dd made me cross this pm, I asked her y/day to try on her outfit, make sure everything was ok. No, she does it at 3.30pm today then tells me the new shoes she bought last Sat dont fit, too big! Also she wants to wear her hair up, no grips/band/clips etc! Dh was out so I flew out the door and just made it to the bus stop and legged it into town, bought 2 pairs of cheapie shoes and hair clips, had 20 mins to get the bus back home. Made it, came back at 4.15pm took the shoes up, grrrrrr neither pair fitted her, miles too small! So I give up, she is wearing a pretty little black number and chunky gladiator studded sandals!!! What ever!!

bubby64 · 17/04/2014 23:13

Trips - just thinknof it as a fashion statement! Glad The initial interview went well. Have a nce day at the wedding.
Mama - hope your little soldier keeps fighting on.

Soks- I also hope J's knee settles down.
Chops- my 2 were knackered after a 4 mile bike ride yesterday, they have become so unfit over this winter!
Shabs- you needed to get sozzled, pity you had such a raucous wake up call though.
Job is going well, but I find doing 2 long days in a row absolutely knackering. I am surprised tho, we were a carer short due to sickness, so after I had finished my drug round and bits and pieces, I rolled up my metaphorical sleeves, and mucked in with the HCAs and started doing personal care. The carers kept thanking me, and it seemed strange, until a senior carer said none of the other trained nurse's ever do care, but leave it to the carers to struggle! This just seems absurd, I like to think I am part of a team, not a someone totally seperate.Confused Confused
Its apparently made me very popular tho!Grin
