Apollo is on Vapotherm!!!! :) :) :) They gave him steroids yesterday just give him that extra push and it worked! He struggled slightly at first but I think that's because it's prongs and he's not sucking in air like he did with the CPAP, but now he's doing really well, it's only when he's sleeping that he desats.

It was also confirmed that he has serve BPD which really, really sucks but we kind of expected it with the amount of oxygen and machines he's been on, we're just grateful he's had no other long lasting effects but they say it's very likely that he'll be come on oxygen.

How did your day pan out Soks? I think your bigger is adorable. K cannot wait to be six because he wants a big boy car seat haha.

shabbs · 27/01/2014 19:03

Whats BPD Mamma? Just googled it and all I could find was Boston Police Department Hmm

MultipleMama · 27/01/2014 19:53

What sites are you looking at... Hmm Grin

It stands for Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia some people call it chronic lung disease.

shabbs · 27/01/2014 21:21

Evening girls..............thank you all for the birthday wishes :) I think they enjoyed their day in their own way. Opened cards before school, home to cakes, opened their presents from us, more cards, then my brother came round and stayed for tea with us, went home at 9pm escorted by the boys. Felt sorry for Becca as her best friend couldnt come, so she actually sat at the table for over 30 mins with us..............unheard of normally! So now in bed, I couldnt wait to get up here as I woke up this morning with a raging sore throat and feel like I am going to be ill. 16...........seems impossible........................night all xx

bubby64 · 27/01/2014 23:54

Sorry I've not been around earlier today.
Belated Happy birthday to the Trio, Trips. Sounds like you needed Wine rather than them! Your kitchen is lovely, and I've sent a private message about Microsoft Word.
Mama- thats brillient, mike was diagnosed with BDP when he was little, but tbh, he only really notices it if his hayfever is bad, or if he gets a chesty cold, then he has to use his turbohaler, but otherwise he is fine. My 2 both came home on oxygen and ng tube top up feeds, it is a bit of a pain, especially if you go out (I used to put the cylinder in the basket under the buggy), but it was certainly easier than I thought it would be, and even more so now with the newer lightweight cylinders.
Hi everyone else
Oh, and consevatory 1/2 builtGrin I hadn't realised how cold the rooms with the damaged windows had become until now, can't belive the difference they have made.

Chopstheduck · 28/01/2014 06:32

Morning girls

Apollo seems to be coming on in leaps and bounds now! Hopefully the BPD will be manageable.

Kitchen is gorgeous, trips! Hope the cold doesn't come to anything. Dissolve some turmeric in hot water and add honey, lemon and ginger. Will cure anything Grin

I did not want to get up today. Zzzzzz!

shabbs · 28/01/2014 07:20

Morning girls from a cold, wet, windy miserable Bolton!!! If you could be a snot donor and if anybody needed snot I am your woman!! As my Nan used to say 'I feel like shit poo on a stick!!'

bubby64 · 28/01/2014 13:58

Shabs - hope your cold clears up soon.
I have had trouble sleeping, so staying ip to the early hours instead, but it finally caughtbup with mr this morning, I just really strughled to wake up. boys got themselves their packed lunches and off to school this morning, DH fed animals and off to work, whilst I struggled to wake up enough for builders arriving at 8.30.
We are in a bit of a dilemma, boys have been offered a 10 day school trip to the Ardeche in South of France next year, but it works out at £800 each plus spending money, £100 deposit each needed by 2nd week of Feb. Yes, it will be the trip of a lifetime, yes, they desperately want to go, but it would mean no family holiday for the next 2 yrs, and my 50th birthday going completely unmarked, as we would be paying £100 per month towards the cost. I am really thinking we canmot afford to send themSad I spoke to 3 other mums of twins in their year, and we all feel it is too expensive for us all to manage, so we are going to get together with the mum's of the other 3 sets, and speak to the school to see if there is any chance of a cost reduction, but, even then at least 3 of us think we will have to tell our kids no.

Chopstheduck · 28/01/2014 14:07

I don't think you should feel bad bubby.

I've always explained to mine how expensive school trips are and the fact that it would mean going without a family holiday and they have always chosen the family holiday over a school trip. £1600 would easily get you all a week in France on a keycamp style thing! Your boys do scouts don't they? Mine have been away with extra curricular groups instead as they seem to be so much cheaper.

It is worth speaking to the school though, we've managed to get discounts since we are partly dependent on benefits with ds1 and everything. Ours also offered spreading the payments over a longer period of time too.

Chopstheduck · 28/01/2014 14:10

senior school here want £450 for a week in a property in Wales that the school actually owns. We're doing girls/boys brigade instead - £220 for the week!

Charleymouse · 28/01/2014 14:19

Belated happy birthday to the trio Trips, and a belated happy giving birth day to you! xxx

MiniSoksMakeHardWork · 28/01/2014 20:30

What Chops?!?! That's absurd. We went to centre parcs for less than that!

Hi there Charleymouse :)
Still no phone call from Rangemaster, brand new range, not working, phoned them last Thurs and again y/day! Service today I terrible.
I desperately need to lose weight, desperately.

So why have I just sat up in bed and eaten a whole pkt of Belgian chocolate covered peanuts..................well I have had them since Christmas............feeble excuse........

Chopstheduck · 29/01/2014 06:21

Morning girls x

aww trips! Think though of all the protein in those nuts :)

Have you thought of couch to 5k? I'm almost evangelical about it, it changed my life! Off to the gym this morning for body pump and body attack. Sprinted against my boys on their scooters yesterday and WON! There is nothing like beating your 8 year old in a race - the awe on his face! Grin

MiniSoksMakeHardWork · 29/01/2014 07:55

Afternoon Girlies. We have told the boys, they did offer us a pay monthly scheme, but with the 2 of them its still 100 a month from March til next May. We spoke to the school, and they couldn't do much of a reduction, so it really is a no go. 4 out of the 7 sets of twins are not going because we can't afford it, 2 are looking into it, and 1 is having help from grandparents to pay.
Trips - Please dont feel too bad, whatever weight you are, you still have your health. Start kicking up a fuss with rangemaster, say you will be going to consumer advice services, and contacting someone like Jeremy Vine or someone.
Chops -Well done! I wish I could walk fast let alone beat a 8yr old on the scooter!

MultipleMama · 29/01/2014 18:42

Today has been crazy. I have never as much paperwork in my life for one small baby. It's a God job I love the little 'roid baby because my wrist is killing me!

Today, A's team confirmed and signed off on his transfer and our local hospital have confirmed there is a bed waiting for him!! They are 100% confident that he his well enough and stable enough to make the journey on Friday where he'll be put on SCBU!! :) :) :) Happy and so proud!!

bubby64 · 29/01/2014 22:01

Fantastic news Mama! things will be so much better when you are near to DH and rest of kids

MultipleMama · 29/01/2014 23:44

I can't wait to sleep in my own bed and I cannot wait for DH to spend time with the twins at the weekend! I've missed them so much!

Bubs, that price is shocking! [Shock] Do schools think parents are loaded of something. If it's education it should be free!
