Oh mama that is good news. So glad to hear that :) go Apollo!

Well my twin reins arrived the other day. They are soooooo much easier than regular reins. Even if it was funny that the babies insist on going in opposite directions. And easier again getting them back in the car. I just clipped big to the school railings so he didn't wander off while I sorted his sister Blush

We go on holiday Monday GrinGrinGrinGrin

Morning ladies! X

Enjoy your holiday Sok! :)

What design you settled for, Trips?

Filled in two more school applications today just gotta send them off. So we have the one we want and 3 as back up!

Miss my kids so much! Think I may ask PIL to bring them to Berlin for a week and have them stay too, of course I'd pay for hotel. But I don't wanna upset their routine more than I have to especially A. Should I or should I deal with daily skype chats & phone callS?

Any plans today ladies? Artie & I will spend the morning at a baby book club before spending the afternoon with Apollo :)

MultipleMama · 13/01/2014 15:09

My 5 year old has become obsessed with Chris Hatfield (reading Chris' book to Apollo) according to my FIL. He keeps wanting to watch Space videos and take Space pictures. I apparently have over a dozen Space drawings for Apollo and Artie. He's also demanding a Space room and that we read him only Space stories... all within a day and all because he watched a youtube video of Chris in Space. I love him so much, he's so carefree and just a happy little boy! :) #proudmama

bubby64 · 13/01/2014 23:40

Hi ladies. just popping in before i make lunchboxes then off to bed.
Mama - great news about your little man, and, sorry, once the space obsession kicks in, that it! My M still adores his space theamed room at 13yrs!!Grin
Trips - nice you could catch up with family, even ifbit was for such a sad event. It seems to be that way, doesn't it, you seem to catchbup at big family events, in your 20-30s its weddings, then christening s, but now it seems to be funeralsSad
I see Chops has won heself a ski trip, so she will be jetting off again soonGrin

I had my 1st physio session today to try and release the tendon and nerve in my ankle, ouch! painful, Confused I was glad when she said to leave it for a couple of weeks to settle down before the next session.Smile
We are finally havingnour windows, patio doors, conservatory and guttering sortedbout in 2 weeks, I am having to take annual leave, but it will be worth itGrin . I just hope that the weather doesn't conspire against us and things have to be postponed. Good excuse to get the boysvto tidy their rooms though, and we have promised them new beds after, they both want to get rid of their midi sleeper for something a little more grown up.
Trying to book a cheap holiday abroad for the summer hols, but it is all too expensive. The minimum costs would be about £1400 for a week for us, as now the boys are counted as adults. We just cant afford that, and we dare not take them during term time, as everyone recently got a letter saying that unless the family had to go away out of school holiday time, ie farming or military families, (which there are a lot of anyway at their school), the education authority is going to prosocute you, and that can be ip to a maximum of £250 per child, per week!
Oh well, looks like it may be a caravan holiday in merry old England again. So much for having a guaranteed sunshine holiday for my 50th!

triplets · 14/01/2014 00:00

I know what you mean Bubbs ,we are really now 5 adults, kids will b 16 on the 27th, are you looking at Aug? Try to find a cheap flight after the 20th prices lower usually by then. Try Palma 100s of flights then look for an apt in somewhere like Puerto Pollensa, huge choice and good pric range...........my all time fav family holiday. Well an exciting but noisy day..........my kitchen is now a shell, pic on my profile as it was y/day...........Ill do one tomorrow as it looks now, then I`ll do an after one! So exciting ,thanks to my lovely Mum xxx

shabbs · 14/01/2014 06:45

Morning girls xx

New kitchen sounds fantastic Trips. xx

Bubby - Majorca sounds a good idea - flights are cheaper and there are so many lovely places.

We are not going away this year. No savings left, cheapest flights coming in at around £400 each!! Dont want to leave my Mum & Dad either - their current state of health is very, very poor. xxx

MultipleMama · 14/01/2014 07:16

Holidays will be impossible for us for awhile due to the rules most airways have i.e 2 adults per 2 children under a certain. Which is all of them. We can go if we bring my dad along (always do anyway).

Hope the kitchen goes as planned!! :)

Feel tired this morning even though Artie had a really good night and Apollo's alarms didn't go off once.

Chopstheduck · 14/01/2014 07:22

morning girls x

Did I hear my name? Wink

Mama - fab to hear Apollo is doing so well. FWIW I'd prob leave the kids for now :( They probably need time to settle after the big move rather than upheaving them again. Hopefully it won't be too much longer xx

Bubby what about a caravan in Europe? Selectcamp are cheap, and you could get a ferry from Felixstowe and to somewhere like Amsterdam. We aren't planning anything for the summer this year neither yet. After last year, we can't afford a proper holiday, so will be making do with freebies and maybe a short break with just the twins as R and J always go away a bit in August.

Hope your ankle is feeling a bit better today!

Good luck with the new kitchen fitting, trips! I hated having ours done (two years ago, after a loo flooded the ground floor), but it will be worth it in the end.

Yep, I'm off skiing in Saas Fee hopefully! Still waiting atm for the vouchers to arrive from Switzerland then I should be able to go ahead and book it. It's half board in a 4* hotel, flights and ski pass included, so pretty much all paid for! Grin Kids are NOT coming, though I won a stay in Yorkshire at Flamingo Land, and tickets to Alton Towers in separate competitions, so going to take all the kids away at half term in May.

happy holidays Soks! Where are you off to? Didn't know you were dieting! I put on 2lbs over Xmas which I was pretty pleased with. I did carry on with classes though, and even went for a run on Xmas day.

Fell off my bike on Fri and spent the day feeling very sorry for myself. Bruising is still coming out but less sore now, thank goodness! I hit my cheekbone, knee, ankle and elbow. Skidded on ice, bike went one way and I went the other! No more cycling in ice for me!

Chopstheduck · 14/01/2014 07:23

Mama, you are in Germany now - you can jsut drive down to Austria, or Switzerland, or Italy! EnvyEnvyEnvy

MultipleMama · 14/01/2014 07:57

Chops, that is true. Never thought of it like that! Still thinking like a British person! We'd like to take the kids to Canada, Russia & Sweden. They're on the back burner. We have planned a trip to Austria next year which is a 5 hour drive minus rest stops.

We decided to the DC settle and not move them around. To say he's never really been on his own with the 4 DC for long periods of time, he's doing amazingly. Proud of my DH. So lucky to have him! :)

That sounds painful! I hope your injuries heal quickly! Hope your ankle feels better too, bubs!

Caravan around Europe sounds fun! :)

Chopstheduck · 14/01/2014 15:20

Whereabouts in Austria are you going? we did a week in Zell Am See, near Salzburg a few years ago - was one of our best holidays! Absolutely loved it.

MultipleMama · 14/01/2014 15:57

We're going to Zillertal Arena (ski resort) heard good reviews about it and my dad has been too. It's really family friendly. And there's a few places that accomade 8 people :) And then we're taking them to Disneyland at Hallow's Eve (this year) - Well PIL & my dad are taking K and A :)

bubby64 · 15/01/2014 00:34

All ideas seem good, but we are a bit stuck with dates. i can take whenever I like off now, with my new contract, as my oppo and I don't have to cover each other any more, but when DH went to book his hols, only 2 days after they opened the calender, the night shift had got in first, and booked most of the hols already (he has to cover themSad ) He managed to book what will be the equivalent of 10 days beginning 31st July, and then 7 days from the 16th. I did say to him we could save up and wait to see what last minute deals are available, but, due to his AS he finds that too stressful, he has to have everything planned out! We are now looking at a static caravan in Devon or Cornwall for a week, going private hire as per usual, as you usually get a better price.
Ankle still quite bruised and sore, but hopefully it will eventually be worth it.
Trips - Envy Envy of your new kitchen,.
Mama, glad Apollo is behaving himself. I love Austria, I have had a couple of great holidays there.
Chops- I must start doing comps in earnest, glad you didn't injure youself too much, be careful out there.
Shabs- I know what you mean about your parents, I was reluctant last year because of my mum, must admit, now she is settled in her home, I feel a bit more relaxed about leaving her. It seems strange, but I am now sleeping better than I have for several years. I have decided that it is because I now know that I am not expected to drop everything and go over there to sort her out, day or night, whenever I get a telephone call.

I hope you manage to find a holiday, bubs, you deserve a break! My DH is just as anal about planning. He likes to think of every outcome and have back up plans in place - for example, our holiday next year; he's called and asked about newborns/PG women and nearest hospitals. When I asked him why his response was, "if my little swimmers are winners, we need to be ready." I could strangle him. Our move to Germany was more than 10 spreadsheets/Word Docs worth of planning. Even budgets!

Apollo is being a little stubborn. He's refusing to come off the vent, so they will try again today. If not, they'll leave it to next week and try him with steriods, again. They think that because he was on since birth and only recently came off, he's gone back to relying on it again. His lungs are massively scarred and weak but his heart though weak is coping well with the changes :)

triplets · 15/01/2014 23:15

evening ladies, promised myself an early night so straight to bed in a min! Waste of time today, had to go to Canterbury hospital dental dept, in and out in les than 2 mins! Consultant should have x-rayed my mouth, instead he said if I was feeling ok, no need to come back to them, go back to my gp! Got home and my lovely neighbour banged on the door and gave us a homemade fish pie for our supper as we have no kitchen. Isn`t that kind? It was such a godsend after microwave meals! My kitchen units are arriving tomorrow :)

feeling bored.........anybody want a Brew?

MultipleMama · 16/01/2014 21:21

I'll take that Brew had a day of arguing with one of the consultants. He wants to do to a lumbar puncture without reasonable cause and just for the sake of ruling things out. Well, just in case isn't a good enough reason to stick a needle in my poorly son's back. He wasn't counting on the fact that I'm fluent in German and understood every bloody thing he said. All this started because Apollo has a fever, which his cardiologist thinks it'll pass and is nothing serious. So annoyed.

triplets · 16/01/2014 22:58

Oh Mama, what a terrible time you are having, so upsetting, I really feel for you. xx
Just go home from the cinema, a rare treat. Saw The Railway Man, Colin Firth an Nicole Kidman. Not the sort of film you can say you enjoy, it upset me, awful war!
Glad to get out as me and dk have truly been getting on each others nerves all day, I really snapped at him at 7pm, coldn`t get out of here quick enough. Now feeling a tad guilty as its his b/day tomorrow.....
night all xx

MultipleMama · 16/01/2014 23:15

Had a good vent with DH over the phone and spent time playing with Artie, so had time to calm down and reflect, my answer is still no, and he finally accepted that. He's not even Apollo's Neurologist - just a stand in, as he's been in board meetings all day.

Tomorrow is a brand new day, I'm taking Artie swimming for the first time to a baby class. Very nervous and germ wary!

Hope your DK has a lovely birthday xx
