Morning girls x

well done J!!!

I wouldn't bother going, bit mean that yours would be the only ones.

Shabs, glad he did apologise, def agree about families being hard work! x

had parents evening last night for the twins, both are doing fab, really pleased. Shay has calmed down immensely. I was dreading this year, because his teacher I really disliked after the way he treated Jack (he is a shite senco) but the same teacher really has been brilliant with shay. Shay is above average in english and maths, and rav for english. jack's today, but I've already spoken to the teacher as he is rav's cross country coach, and his is all good too! GrinGrin

Goodmorning girls.....Shabs praying for a good outcome today xxxxx

shabbatheGreek · 05/03/2013 07:18

Thank you love. My normal totally optimistic personality is struggling a little. BUT at least if its bad news we will have a 'plan of action' and maybe enough time to sort out everything for my parents. x

bubby64 · 05/03/2013 17:43

Hi Shabs - have been thinking of you all day. Thanks

.........just sat down!

Dad was hours and hours....my brother went in with him to the appointment. The word cancer was never used but they said....'We are waiting for the final test result to come back and then we will know what 'strain' it is and if it is treatable. The looked at his gums and said 'Oh that looks painful' he has lost a stone and a half in two weeks. He has to go back next week for the results but I am going to ring first to check they have them. So home he goes with my poor Mam who has 'raging Alzheimers'. I am going to ring their doctors tomorrow and demand that a district nurse goes every day. The NHS is going to the dogs my friends....if you took an animal to the vets that was as poorly, even if it was a PDSA or RSPCA they would send them home with painkillers or keep them there overnight. Danny is ringing me from works toilets sobbing and my nephew Nathan is the same....Tom is just quiet and says he is going to cheer grandad up by doing well in all his exams. This life is unfair, it is cruel. Sad

bubby64 · 05/03/2013 21:13

shabs- that is digusting, I would complain to the PALs service if I was you, and you also need to contact GP and the emergency line at Adult Social Services. Also MacMillan and Age Concern may be able to help push things along a bit quicker when it comes to care assistance for them both.

shabbatheGreek · 05/03/2013 21:18

Thank you for your advice - I was thinking along those lines, but was unsure of who to contact. He told the doctor after he had his biopsy that yes he had a responsible adult who was of sound mind to look after him.....My brother said to them...'My mum has bloody alzheimers!! - but they ignored him and discharged my dad into mums care.

I find it so unfair when two very hard working people like my parents (Dad never, ever had a day off sick in 50 years of working) people who have struggled financially to bring up a family, and have never been in trouble with the police etc etc etc are allowed to basically 'go home to die.' My Dad could die and Mum would not realise.

bubby64 · 05/03/2013 21:43

Raise a huge stink, shabs, with poor care in the NHS so prominent in the news at the moment, your Health Authority may move quickly to avoid adverse publicity if you make enough noise in the right places, it can't doanything but help your dad,.

shabbatheGreek · 05/03/2013 21:48

I will be doing love - dont worry about that. xx

Oh Shabs, as you know I have had many ups and downs with the NHS over the last 5 years with dk and my poor poor Mum. Nothing surprises me anymore. Wish we could help, know we can`t but we are all here to pick you up. xx

shabbatheGreek · 05/03/2013 23:34

Thank you Trips. I am exhausted but not tired. xx

Morning.

Oh Shabs! I just don't know what to say. So have a huge unMN hug, a steaming cup of Brew and take time to gather yourself.

shabbatheGreek · 06/03/2013 08:57

I really appreciate all your kindness my friends.

OK I have rung my parents doctor (we have the same doctor) and am going in to see her. She should be able to organise some proper medical care for them both. It cant be a home help (no disrespect to home helps) because, as a family, we all go down regularly to help them clean, wash and iron etc etc. It has to be someone 'medical'.

Have rung Toms school. They were amazing and thanked me for letting them know. Told them if he has a meltdown of any kind it could be to do with his grandparents. He has another Maths exam today, hasn't revised but has gone in and said 'No worries Mum, I will do my best and I can resit if my best is not good enough.'

I almost overslept this morning....almost!! Im more tired than when i went to bed.

Onwards and upwards!

shabbatheGreek · 06/03/2013 13:14

Not been able to contact my parents all morning.....kept ringing and was getting frantic. Got hold of Mum..... Where on earth have you been Mum?' 'Tesco's for our 'big shop'!!!' 'I told you I would do that online for you!' 'Stop bloody mithering me to do online shopping its the only time we ever go bloody out!!' My Dad must be the strongest willed, most stubborn man I have ever met.

triplets · 06/03/2013 14:56

They are a tough generation Shabs, and good for them I say. They have lived through the war, survivors, at their age we will all be sat with our pcs shopping for everything online! Hope today is a better day for you. xx

Had a lovely morning with the tiny tigers, we made Mothers Day cards, draw a face, Mums eyes, hair colour etc...............its amazing how many Mums these days have green noses and blue ears:o

Sokmonsta · 06/03/2013 22:25

Aw trips that sounds like a lovely day. The preschoolers have been making pictures with handprint flowers for mothers day.

I have spent a productive evening making a 'very tall hat' and 'long ginger hair which she wore in a plait' for Emily's world book day on Friday. Her school are doing a catwalk in sticker assembly for those who choose to dress up.

Preschool are doing it as well. But James is not a fan of fancy dress so will be wearing his Thomas the tank engine top. I'm looking forward to the twins joining in when they are bigger. Jennifer looks like a little topsy already with her curls.

triplets · 07/03/2013 06:30

Morning Shabs, you are up early? They say as you get older you need less sleep, at this rate by the time I am 70 I will be awake 24hours! Still I hate to miss anything:o
Hope you are ok xx

shabbatheGreek · 07/03/2013 07:03

Not too bad love. Woke up and lay there about 5am - gave up and came down. xx

bubby64 · 07/03/2013 11:29

Morning All. Shabs, Trips, my biggest problem is getting to sleep in the first place, I tend to lay awake until 2am. Once asleep I am ok, I suppose it is due to the lack of physical activity and fresh air!
Shabs - Hope things with parents are moving in the right direction now.
Trips - are things settled with dk and kids?
Soks - sounds like you had a nice day yesterday.
Has anyone heard from Ooggs lately?
