The same emerald engagement ring our Matt gave his primary school girlfriend just before his accident Shock the emerald ring she still has LOL!!

Ours is meant to be Linen or Silk, did think of buying him a silk tie, but he would only have worn it once a year at his firms xmas dinner dance, so a new socket set was more practical. I recieved a book token (I want the new Terry Pratchett book which is released next week). My DH suggested that when we get to 35, a good gift would be viagraGrin
Shabs- Barclays kept offering to increase our OD for years, and we kept saying no, as, at the time, we didn't need it, When we did need it this year, they told us "no, because you have gone over your current OD limit and into the emergency zone twice" - Thats why we needed it FFS as it cost us £22 each timeAngry
Ooggs - 3 weeks- he owes you a "get out of jail free" card after thatGrin

shabbapinkfrog · 04/10/2011 22:21

I cant repeat my side of the conversation with them on here. Blush

We were 2p short (yes TWO pissing pence) to pay a cheque....they have declined it and are charging us £30 for the pleasure. I asked for them to refund the charge and they said they couldn't because they did that 11 months ago for us WTF???? Just told her that I now, officially, totally give up!!

Is Lew with you all day, and does he go for a nap so you can catch up? I really am starting to worry about you and Trips, you both seem so down and tired.Sad.
You both have so much to cope with, and I want to know if I can help in any way?

Lew is here from about 7am till around 1.30pm....then Toms home from school at 3.30 LOL. He is 3 now and hasn't had a nap during the day since he was about 2!! He is a bit of a live wire Grin Lew starts nursery in a few days so life will be a little easier, but part of me will miss him. He has been coming to me since he was about 10 months old. Think the hardest part is that Lew is 3 and Tom (my BIG suprise) is 14. They love to fight, argue and fall out LOL. School holidays are the worst times!! xx

WEll I didn't get him anything in the end...and he surprised me massively by buying me a ring....it's lovely but too small so need to get it re-sized. To say I was shocked is an understatement!

Shabs - sorry to hear about your run in with the Halifax - bloody banks are all the same....the bigger organisations get, the worse the customer service becomes....just like Virgin hey!

Trips - am I remembering correctly that you have tinnitus? I went to my docs yesterday as have had ringing in my ears for a month. She prescribed me some anti-vertigo drugs (!) but didn't seem overly optimistic that they would work. I can't live with the noise forever, what do you do????

Chopstheduck · 05/10/2011 16:19

fternoon!
I not happy as neighbour has dropped her child on me. On a wed it girls brigade and scouts so a mad rush without extra children. What started as 15 mins (ok) turned to an hour (not ok). I love the little girl but she will not sit for a minute and wants to run round pulling out toys and making MESS!

I don't DO mess :( I was planning a sit down with my kindle while the boys get their reading done.

Hello HM!! lovely to 'see' you.

bubby64 · 05/10/2011 19:57

Well, after over an hour of screams/shouts/hysterical crying and throwing things, boys have finally done the math homework they were given last friday and totally denied having over the w/e, (despite me asking on numerous occasions "have you any more homework?"Angry) -2 pages of division using decimals and fractions for the remainders > which is due tomorrow morning.
Mood was not helped by me finding Mikes ipod (last yrs b/d pressie), had been put through the wash and then tumble-dried, as DH had not checked pockets before "helping" with the washing. Amazingly, it still works, and only the headphones didn't surviveShock, but had another hysterical outburst from Mike before we established that.
Obviously it was my fault, as I neglected to tell him not to leave it in his pocket before puttng shorts in the washpile and/or reminding dh to check said pocketsHmm

shabbapinkfrog · 05/10/2011 20:04

Sounds ever so similar to our house!!!!

OP posts:
bubby64 · 05/10/2011 20:32

What got me was when DH got home in the middle of this, with me having ended up shouting back at the kids in total frustration, it was all my fault, as I was over-reacting and did not know how to cope with the situation. He then promptly got a beer out of the fridge and disappeared into the other room to play his x-box, leaving me to cope alone againAngry
