Oh no. Headband has blocked me. As a dentist I could have had some real fun with her.
In the FL hey days, I saw a number of patients who were given bullshit information regarding fluoride toothpastes. Some were intelligent enough to double check with me before using the FL toothpaste.
I didn’t know about the product but gave them the usual speech about why we encourage the use of fluoride toothpaste.
Some patients came to our attention when after a couple of years use either they or their children showed signs of early decay. When it happens you automatically start to ask questions because the patient or parent is often devastated.
In fact a warning was sent out from professional forums to be aware. It never ceases to amaze me how people will trust a flaky friend with no professional qualifications over a professional with a degree in medicine or dentistry or dietetics who has studied for 3-5 yrs as an undergraduate and continues to study, through CPD, throughout their professional career. But there again, having worked with the general public for 40+ yrs, over 50% of them are below average intelligence and an easy target.
Just to add I’m not being judgemental but statistically correct. It is that 50% that are vulnerable and these companies exploit that lack of critical thinking.
