It’s on a thermostat so it comes on when it’s cold. It’s not been on the last couple of days.

Changingplace · 04/05/2024 11:39

Ours has been off for ages.

Nannyfannybanny · 04/05/2024 11:41

Depends where you live we're the warmest mildest SE UK corner, not far from the "Sunshine Coast". Heating is never actually on or off. If it's chilly in the morning, I just bump the thermostat up to 18c. It was 4c this morning, unusual for may, but warmed up very quickly,is now 16c in the shade and warm enough to sit in the garden.

BobnLen · 04/05/2024 11:41

Ours came on yesterday as it was cold, it probably won't today though, we just leave the thermostat the same apart from when we go on holiday as we don't want it coming on when we are not there.

Nannyfannybanny · 04/05/2024 11:42

Probably haven't used it for about a month.

Floralnomad · 04/05/2024 11:43

I never turn mine off , if I’m cold it is on irrespective of what month it is .

AGodawfulsmallaffair · 04/05/2024 11:43

I never turned it on 😆

xSideshowAuntSallyx · 04/05/2024 16:58

I have the thermostat turned down to 18c. Occasionally I've had to turn it up as I've been that cold. Occasionally I've woken up and it's come on so it must have got cold overnight.

Kitkat1523 · 04/05/2024 17:00

Had it on maybe twice in April…not at all in May….probably go back on in October

dementedpixie · 04/05/2024 17:03

Mine doesn't get turned off. I turn the thermostat down instead

ThePoshUns · 04/05/2024 17:05

I've still got mine on timed. Hoping today is the day I can finally switch it off.

BarcadiWithGadaffia · 04/05/2024 17:10

Jsu when you think the have you turned your heating on threads have finally gone away we now have the new variant

I've never known a group of people to be so invested in what anyone else does with their heating, it's bizarre 😂

ohtowinthelottery · 04/05/2024 17:11

It's still on twice a day but I've turned the thermostat down from 20 to 18°c

Comefromaway · 04/05/2024 17:12

Mine is on a thermostat. It’s set to 19 degrees when we are in and 16 overnight 365 days of the year.

quizzys · 04/05/2024 17:14

Why would anyone need to "switch it off"?

I just hit the "Boost" button for an hour if chilly. Is there a ceremony held for the switch off or what?

BobnLen · 04/05/2024 17:38

I think switching it off means turning the thermostat right down so it doesn't come on, we go away a lot so do this each time or else if we left it at 18 or anything over about 11 it would come on. I just change it all to 7C for holidays. We were away a couple of weeks ago and house got down to 10c.

TeenLifeMum · 04/05/2024 17:39

Ours was off but it’s been back on the last couple of weeks because it’s been 12 degrees in the house.

PotatoPudding · 04/05/2024 17:42

I never have mine on timer. I just stick it on if I am cold.

BobnLen · 04/05/2024 17:44

I'm still using my electric blanket, only time that's not used is when it's hot.

atlaz · 04/05/2024 17:47

We only turn ours down for holidays. If it's cold in August it comes on in August.

checkedshirts · 04/05/2024 18:15

Nope it's been 20+° in the house for about a month. Luckily I think next door have their house like a sauna so we don't need our heating on much. Never on overnight anyway.

MinervaMcGonagallsCat · 04/05/2024 18:15

No I live in Scotland. 🤣

Starlightstarbright3 · 04/05/2024 18:19

We have storage heaters . They have been off since beginning of April . I think has about 2 evenings we had fire on in the lounge.

Vicliz24 · 04/05/2024 18:23

Mines just clicked on . Thermostat is set at 17
