IIRC total volume is your whole downline.

Open is your Non-Manager business, is everyone in your downline who isn't part of the team of any Managers in your downline.

So someone can be high up in Open volume, but if they don't have many (active) managers then they may have a low total volume.

^ so to get an idea of the actual size of a bot's biz, the total volume tells you more.
