Hello- new in here but intrigued. Have come across some travel agency set ups recently- quite ‘hun-ish’, seems like wfh and get commission on travel you book for other people. It seems fishy to me as travel agents seems like a niche market and there is a lot of ‘come and join us’ chat in the posts I see. Is there MLM in travel?
Thanks

Yes, quite a few. What’s the company name?

Oxonc3 · 31/01/2024 18:11

Howtotravelsmarter.com seems like being blonde is a recruitment essential!

CrabbiesGingerBeer · 31/01/2024 18:26

Well from the blurb it’s pretty clearly a MLM.

TRAVEL ENTREPRENEUR: Unlock all income opportunities - book travel and earn a passive income from sharing the travel opportunity with
others

Key MLM words / phrases: entrepreneur, passive income, share with others.

They say someone can just sign up for booking holidays (‘TRAVEL AGENT’ level) but that’s what most if not all MLMs say to recruit (that you can make a living by selling the product). It’s never true.

Oxonc3 · 31/01/2024 19:00

Yes, had only seen on insta, never clicked on the webpage before. Fascinating. Is the first time I have seen one in real life, only ever heard about on here before.

Angrymum22 · 31/01/2024 23:06

Unfortunately Yawnsville was heavily saturated with FL at its height with many falling for the bulllshit. You couldn’t go to a school fair or village fete without a compulsory ( rather sad ) FL stall being present. Uber will struggle to recruit around here.

YouOKHun · 31/01/2024 23:58

I bet Yawn will have to play the arrival of Uber as a positive event and smile through gritted teeth. It can’t help having a bigger more successful bot potentially stealing the limelight Yawn believes she has.

On another note, I see the dank dark Docklands event which is a UK event is having to ship people in from elsewhere in Europe to pep up the look of success. It so very tricky to find homegrown success. So some Swiss bots have been lined up to show what’s possible in FLP. I wonder if the Instagram life these bots display is as attractive as it was a few years ago or whether it just seems too distant a possibility these days for the audience at this event.

I also see they have a retail expert who has a PhD in Shopping. She has spoken at a DSA event before. You’d have thought an expert in retail would have sniffed out that there isn’t a lot of retailing to real customers going on.

definitelynotabot · 01/02/2024 05:20

Just has a look. They are really going for it with the Londo event with both boys coming over from the States.
Wonder how ticket sales are going?

DeliaDeetz · 01/02/2024 10:27

I see Yawn and Specsaver have shared the same invite to meet one of the Americans that are coming over. Although the extra info Specsaver has posted doesn't make it sound quite as special as Yawn probably wanted it too! 😂

Crikeyalmighty · 01/02/2024 11:19

There are some proper opportunities in travel out there these days that are not MLM- just formal franchises but they cost ££££ to get into (thousands) - the problem with the MLMs is they attract mainly people who are 'hard up' who soon realise the sales aren't there and the only way they make any money is by hassling and recruiting others and feeding off their minuscule sales. There is no way I personally would get into anything that requires hassling friends to either buy or sign up -

Angrymum22 · 01/02/2024 15:36

Interesting slides from Specsaver. With 20 customers you can earn £150-300 a month. I earn £300+ with 15 customers a day, working one day a week without the need to go on Facebook 24/7 or even advertise. But then I have a real J.O.B.

YouOKHun · 01/02/2024 15:56

The chances of finding 20 real customers for FLP product who purchase every month, month in month out, has got to be very tricky. Especially tricky for someone who will be relying on a small circle of people who will not buy beyond the first “supportive” purchase and an unwilling wider circle of vague acquaintances who don’t appreciate the harassment. That’s the reality for almost all of them, Specsaver included.

judgementfail · 01/02/2024 18:09

They've got 30 qualifier's for London. Noticed it included 2 Jags, Yawn Ex BFF and New Prodigy (not sure who's downline she is but she hangs about with Yawn, Ex BFF and Specsavers). 30 isn't going to fill that building and the 'exclusive qualifiers party' sounds like it will be a bit tumble weed.

I thought the London thing was only for qualifiers. Could anyone buy a ticket before or is that a new thing to get the venue filled? Also 'bring prospects for free'. Who is going to pay several hundred to travel to London and get accommodation to sit in Docklands at an aloe presentation on a Saturday? Even New prodigy who has masses of support and engagement on her FB doesn't seem to have confided anyone.

NormalForNuneaton · 01/02/2024 18:29

WTF... Yawn is being very vocal about not wanting business owners to have access to her Menopause guff, calling them lazy and saying they'll rip it off and cheat ... I thought she was all about helping her team (i.e business owners)??

What must her team feel hearing her say that about them?

It's only for customers and potential customers apparently . Clearly she wants all the sales herself, she wants contact with fresh blood that she can sign up without competition from her team.

YouOKHun · 01/02/2024 18:57

I’ve read some of the comments from people who attended Yawn’s Menopause Misinformation talk. I wonder if Yawn told the audience that the cancer nurse and “menopause expert” is also a prolific bot? The comments I’ve seen suggest that the audience was told that FLP products could enhance prescribed HRT. Surely a Nurse should know you can’t make claims like that?

I wonder how often patients coming into contact with her are given the hard sell at a vulnerable time?

She may be a cancer nurse but does that make her an expert on the menopause? I don’t think so. Still, who cares eh? As long as people are pulled into FLP for the benefit of Yawn and this Nurse Bot, who cares what happens to them?

HouseofHolbein · 01/02/2024 19:48

Just seen Wig and Sleaze saying they are now living in Portugal. Obviously still travelling the world to scam people tho...

Who's it aimed at?

The comments have disappeared rapidly. Someone must have her notifications on 24/7 in order to filter out the negativity.

Agreed. People started targeting me back in 2008.

My answer was always 'if it was as easy as you say, everyone would be doing it'.

PieonaBarm · 02/02/2024 08:20

@MyopicBunny that's exactly what I said to my BIL when a Utility Warehouse Bot got his claws into him, he was ripe for the picking, two kids and a third imminent, new house etc. Thankfully he listened!

Sugarplum48 · 02/02/2024 11:49

Yawns tt. I saw the comments and then boom deleted almost instantly. Glad l saw it

I always thought 'what's in it for them? Why would they be so keen for me to do this'.

Also, the language they use 'I can only help 3 people so you'd better be quick'

Contraryjane · 02/02/2024 13:48

It’s nonsense that the London venue is owned by Forever fibbing.
