Did anyone see any photos of the audience at the Manchester event from a couple of nights ago?

I've only seen photos of the presenters , none of the poor suckers that sat through it.

Strategic move if there weren't many there?

I saw some very, very carefully angled photos from it. Looked like 5-6 people in the audience max.

YouOKHun · 26/01/2024 15:42

That Leech in London event must be a worry for them. Apart from the obvious reasons for not going; Docklands in February and the cost and inconvenience of getting there over a weekend (grumpy spouses/partners muttering about unsocial hours and a lack of promised income coming in), what could there possibly be to say that these bots haven’t heard a million times before?

Imagine trailing to a bleak Docklands, to be shut in a cavernous room while the likes of Bloodsucker find a million different ways to say “recruit all your friends, harass strangers, seek out vulnerability and spend all your money”. And how much are the tickets to this event? It’s no wonder it’s hard to sell. The photos from the event are going to take huge creativity; a lot of blurred backgrounds and close up shots of the people who actually turn up. Perhaps they could kettle them into one corner or a broom cupboard and take all the photos there?

I notice on the head honcho’s post about the event that Mick the Greek’s father in liking posts and it seems he is also a cult member. Is the fact the American boss is attending a big pull for the bots? He seems pretty repellent to me.

Spongebobette · 26/01/2024 16:04

Yes Mick the Greek said in a video a while back that his parents were FL business owners from when he was a child so big red CULT flag right there

Spongebobette · 26/01/2024 16:05

and yes I find the American boss very creepy indeed

Twentytwentyhindsight · 26/01/2024 16:07

Which begs the question of why he has decided to get a JOB rather than choose a life of botting if he has had first hand experience of how amazing it is?

Spongebobette · 26/01/2024 16:17

Well, quite

I think the previous country manager had been a bot before taking that job
with a salary and benefits such as holiday pay and a pension, presumably

YouOKHun · 26/01/2024 17:02

I suppose it’s possible to get to your late forties and realise you’ve got bugger all to show for your years of botting and you need the safety of a salaried job. If you’re the present Czm you’ve probably got the burden of your father’s “willable” debt as well. That much needed job has to be within the twilight world of MLM where your only experience lies. No non-MLM organisation is going to give Mick or Bob a job beyond deputy photocopier.

It’s ironic that the likes of Yawn who bleat about female empowerment (or their warped version of it) spend their time being manipulated for free by men whose salary is secure and paid generously out of her and her team’s wallets. I wonder if, on top of a salary, he gets a bonus based on the level of rinsing he manages among the bots?

I wonder if anyone has ever asked the Country Manager why he stopped botting and went for a salaried job? Perhaps that’s one for his next Q&A…

Contraryjane · 26/01/2024 18:26

When the Yawns are forced to sell the Scratch, it will be so “someone else can enjoy it”.

YouOKHun · 26/01/2024 20:15

I expect the day the thatch is sold Yawn will want to do the “villa in Spain” downsizing cover up - this is a technique which requires the renting of an meh apartment off season and using various locations as a backdrop that look exotic and forrin. This can be positioned as “escaping the rat race/living simply in the sun/whatever. Whereas downsizing straight into a modest house in the UK would make it far too clear why the thatch had been sold up.

MarchXX · 26/01/2024 21:09

Decided to check out the numbers 'interested' in going to Leap to London training day 2pm on the official FL fb page. It is a grand total of...45, with the number going at...21.

In the evening is a 7:30 event where 17 interested and 19 going.
On the Saturday 10am Success Day 13 interested and 15 going.

The weekend event was advertised on their fb page at around 7pm with a huge 5 'likes' and 1 'love' so far.

I see further down the page that a collagen selling Top Ten leaderboard states Yawn fell 4 places to 9th place.

I can't help remembering that only a few years ago FL was very successful in the UK and these numbers would have been in the hundreds and thousands. I am so happy to see FL in its death throes, it has left SO many victims in its wake.

The whole reason this thread began was because of the number of dodgy, lying, deceitful, exploitative bots, and one person started a thread talking about their experiences. It really struck a chord with many mumsnetters and the thread became full quickly and another started, then another. Today we are on thread 80 and there are still members here who were at the start.

I have been on these threads since about number 17 and am very pleased to see the obvious decline in Forever Living in the UK

Spongebobette · 26/01/2024 22:55

Ah, just checked and I entered the chat on thread 19 in April 2016.

YouOKHun · 27/01/2024 00:09

@Spongebobette you got me wondering about when I first posted. I see it was on thread 24 (August 2016), asking what people knew about Maëlle (remember them?!). I think you were the first person I asked a question to.

I was a very sporadic poster and interested in Arbonne at the time because a woman in my village had found herself with about £4k of product she couldn’t shift, her upline was the same woman who had asked me if I wanted to pass on clients from private practice who needed the psychological “boost” of a new career in Arbonne (with a back hander to me for every one). Thankfully Arbonne lost its grip around here.

All these companies are awful scams of course but there is definitely a special place in Hell for FLP.

YouOKHun · 27/01/2024 00:18

@MarchXX those numbers for Leap to London are woeful (assuming they’re fairly indicative of the level of interest on the whole). Worse than I thought. They are going to have to rent extras to help fill the space.

If it’s so badly attended it will send the very opposite message they wish to get across. I wonder if the numbers are so low whether they might actually cancel it citing Covid among the presenters or some other excuse. There’s a point where they save more face by doing that than pressing on.

Angrymum22 · 27/01/2024 02:53

Just checked when I first joined and it was Dec 2015, possibly earlier under a different name. Can’t believe these threads have been going for nearly ten years.
We did venture onto Facebook for a while until the site was banned.

Spongebobette · 27/01/2024 06:29

there may be keen bots from abroad coming to the London event of course - we can only see the engagement on the UK page

MrsDilligaf · 27/01/2024 07:13

I've also been posting on these threads for a long time (under various usernames)

Unfortunately I have had 3 experiences of MLM (NSA, BSAH and Virgin Vie) and all of them no longer exist, because none of them work.

Unfortunately for FLP bots they post so much about the opportunity being amazing or life changing that they believe it.

The maths don't math and all of the new recruits who are joining quickly realise that it isn't financially viable, but they are brainwashed into thinking that the good times are just around the corner. They aren't.

Spongebobette · 27/01/2024 08:38

When they launched the ‘incentive’ FL said there would be 2 thousand business owners at Leap to London

It's all so predictable isn't it? If Yawn is ever in a position to buy a villa in Spain then she'll find it's not as easy as it was before Brexit, there's so much red tape now.

BSintolerant · 27/01/2024 10:59

I can picture Yawn tangled up in red tape cursing a lot. How do you say “sodding” in Spanish?

Spongebobette · 27/01/2024 11:08

Oh it’s ok I expect she’s fluent in Spanish by now

Spongebobette · 27/01/2024 08:38

Yerright.

Back in the good old days the Success Days would get 1000 or so and sell out Cheltenham or Ally Pally. Now, 2000? In some parallel universe maybe but not in this one with FL on its knees.

BSintolerant · 27/01/2024 14:32

I wonder when FL ID going to put itself out of its misery?

BSintolerant · 27/01/2024 14:33

ID? “is”! Excuse my pig tit fingers.

Spongebobette · 27/01/2024 14:48

I think FL has a pretty small footprint in the UK now

the manor is owned by the family who own FL and rented back to them and if looks like they rent out most of it to other businesses and stick bots in a drafty tent

And it’s now UK, Ireland and Iceland that the country manager has to cover
