Sit down folks.

Changed name for this.

Took a look at 12.30. 2 prizes...

1 x £50, then swiped...... 1 x £25,000

Woke my husband who thought I was ill!!!

Congratulations!!
What a lovely surprise!
This is why i do Premium Bonds - always praying for that big win!
I know some people look at the list of big winners the day before 'results day' but i imagine it never really hits until you see all those 0s on your screen... or in your bank account :-)
Lovely of you to to be so generous too!

mopeymoo · 05/06/2023 19:48

I got two prizes this month totalling £150. I am very happy with that it has helped with our bills.

Ohmylovejune · 05/06/2023 19:53

I keep looking at it on screen! They are sending me a claim form. I normally have the money paid into my NSI account and that's what they are doing with the £50 win. I don't know at what amount they change it to claim form.

I've spoken to my husband about my thoughts and he agrees so, once we have the money in our grubby paws, we can start planning.

My initial holiday choice is Japan.

Japan is my 'dream but absolutely can't afford it for at least 10 years holiday' so I'd be doing exactly the same!!

boatgirl81 · 07/06/2023 11:55

Wow, congratulations on that amazing win, gives me hope!
I got 2x£25 and a £50 for not bad.
I am not 100% but I think I read that anything over £500 then you need to do a claim form.
I definitely think we are due a rate rise soon, savers interest is not keeping up with the mortgage increases! How can they do the mortgage increase instantly but takes months with savings?

NeedToKnow101 · 08/06/2023 09:50

I got £150 this month.

NeedToKnow101 · 08/06/2023 09:53

Wow to 25K!!!!

It would be interesting to know how long it took for you to get the money after sending the claim form. I would be very impatient.

Ohmylovejune · 08/06/2023 15:41

I will let you know!

My £50 win went into my bank today.

Dooopylally · 08/06/2023 16:47

I would struggle to believe it till it was in my bank account!

HazyDragon · 08/06/2023 16:52

My Nan bought me £100 worth of bonds for my 21st birthday.

In 15 years I've never won a penny!

Very jealous of all these wins.

Dooopylally · 08/06/2023 17:05

That was kind of her! I suppose it's a numbers game. I'm much older than you and have put an inheritance into PB so have between 40 and 50 thousand bonds.
Every month I have 40,000 chances of winning, and if you have a hundred that's your chance of winning.
However, in 25 years that's 30,000 chances of winning so I would have hoped you'd have been lucky at some point!

Dooopylally · 08/06/2023 17:05

Sorry, 15 years - so that's about 18,000 chances

It's £5000 and over for claim forms. My £1000 arrived this morning.

I've always wondered what's the highest number of single prizes someone has won in a draw. I think we once had 7, but they were all 25s.

Ohmylovejune · 08/06/2023 19:51

My son had 6 a few months ago (£375 total). He has about £43k invested.

OublietteBravo · 08/06/2023 20:20

I win 5x £25 last August.

Starseeking · 10/06/2023 22:49

I had assumed they paid winnings to wherever you told them to; I wasn't aware you had to submit a claim form over a specific amount of winnings, and wonder why that is.

boatgirl81 · 11/06/2023 14:27

I guess the reason would be to make sure the claimant was still alive etc. I think there must still be a lot of people with ancient bonds and no bank details on file.

Ohmylovejune · 11/06/2023 19:15

I'm still alive! Although only just having seen that win!

I was away when I heard so I'm only back now to pick up the letter. As mine are paid into an account normally, I just tick that box and it will be paid into my nominated bank account as the other prizes are but there are other options like "send me a cheque", or "pay into a different bank account". You are right, I do have to sign and it came to my home, so there's a level of security checking built into doing that.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/06/2023 13:08

So will be in your account very soon

Let's time it! Sent in postbox that gets collected today at 4.45. 12th June. Requested it direct to a NSI account so should be quickest option possible.

Happiestathome · 20/06/2023 07:04

The prize rate has increased 😀

Fab!

My prize was credited today. 20th. Including a weekend and for it to go through Royal Mail.

HatchetJob · 20/06/2023 10:10

I’ve opened an account for DD as well, so another one to check! Going to put all the winnings from our 2 accounts into hers. Can keep a better check of winnings over the year that way too.

boatgirl81 · 20/06/2023 12:05

They are really trying to phase out the £25, there is now more £50 and £100 prizes which is exciting.
