I’m only just joining, I’ve lightly dabbled with the odd survey making £1/2 a week but I’m really going to go for £10 day, that would be my heating over winter. G

If you could all start again and ONLY do ONE thing to get you £10.00 a day. Where would start?

Out of the ones I'm currently on (Appen, Crisp, Data Annotation and Prolific), atm I'd say DA - BUT I've been working on there less than a week so can't say if it's always like this.

I did the initial assessments and then logged in every few days. I think it was just over a week later I had a couple of qualification tasks showing. Did those (paid at a reasonable rate) and then the same day had access to projects. Every time I've logged on there have been project(s) to work on, all with reasonable pay rates, and I've done a couple more qualification tasks too. Early days obviously so can't say if it will be consistent or long-term, but I've made over £150 in just under a week without too much effort.

It would take me much longer to make the same amount on Crisp, and unless things have changed it often takes a long time to get accepted.

I haven't had much work on Appen recently, the odd decent project has been very short-term.

I like Prolific but have never made around the £10 a day mark from it. On a very good month around £100, but usually around £30-£50 depending how often I remember to leave it open (I go through phases!).

I think you're best having your finger in a few pies so to speak, as they seem to go through phases of being decent and rubbish.

sarahh96 · 26/10/2023 14:12

Is anyone finding that Prolific are having very few survey places at the moment, 3 or 4 places? I never seem to be able to get on any of them. As soon as they load up, there full. I'm sitting here with the laptop primed and ready but even if I move at the speed of light I can't secure a place. I understand that they'll throw you off if you keep refreshing, is that correct?

PurpleFrog · 26/10/2023 17:05

@sarahh96 I haven’t found that. I have been offered quite a number of studies from Prolific in the past few days. I have done 6 or 7 since yesterday morning. I often keep refreshing, as I find that if I wait for Chrome to automatically refresh, or the Chrome extension to send me a notification, it is too late to get on the study. Where did you read that you shouldn’t keep refreshing?

sarahh96 · 26/10/2023 17:35

@PurpleFrog that's interesting. I read it online on a forum. Apparently if you constantly refresh it flags up and they ban you. Really not sure how true that is but frightened to test it out.
I think I've had 3 since yesterday. At £10 about 5pm last night.
How often are you manually refreshing?

sarahh96 · 26/10/2023 17:38

@PurpleFrog this is where I saw it.

PurpleFrog · 26/10/2023 18:11

@sarahh96 Thanks for that - that is interesting. They start off talking about refreshing Prolific Assistant which is the extension I was talking about. It isn’t available for my iPad where I do some of my studies. I do use it on my laptop. Sometimes I just manually refresh my studies page every 10-15 seconds for a couple of minutes. That way I often catch studies that are never notified to me on Prolific Assistant. I will be careful in future not to do that too often.

Hi does anyone know if Nile is still on Appen? I already did my year but partner is going to join up..is it still called that or is it something else now? Thanks

SomersetDreams · 26/10/2023 20:16

Helion Research is good but they pay a month later.

ruralwanderer · 27/10/2023 10:53

@mummy203 I usually exceed £10 a day on Search Sciences but it took a while to get there. I average £400-500 a month from the work that I do for them which takes me between 30 to 40 hours a month.

I work Monday to Friday for 2-3 hours each day depending on workload and other commitments. Some days when my queue is huge, I'll do up to 5 hours, and other days (like today) when there's less to do, I'll be done in under an hour.

Data Annotation is given me £10+ a day.

Fiddie · 28/10/2023 11:14

MrsWombat · 23/10/2023 07:46

I've received the payout for my qualifications tasks for DataAnnotation. £32 ish into my Paypal. 💪

I got a couple wrong on one of mine and it asked me to correct before moving on. I'm hoping I still pass. Anything is better than nothing and this looks way better than Crisp.

bramblebug · 28/10/2023 12:40

What's the average timeline between the starter assessment for Data Annotation and getting work?

No, it finished sometime last year from memory - I was about 9 months into my year and it got cancelled as apparently the client had enough data.

cupcakes12blossom · 28/10/2023 16:15

I've signed up to Data Annotation, but only done one test so far. My mortgage goes up by £430 per month from December, so could do with earning at least £300 minimum per month. I currently get about £30 from Prolific.

Fiddie · 28/10/2023 19:15

Are there any other companies like Data annotation that people could recommend?

LauraMarie2382 · 28/10/2023 22:01

I've signed up today. I did starter assessment and then 2 qualifying tasks. I was annoyed as I have a $80 coding one there and when I did the 2 easier ones it disappeared, but if approved still $30, which is better than nothing. I am hoping I get approved soon and get some tasks.

Did you get the tasks right after doing the starter assessment?

Fiddie · 29/10/2023 07:06

@bramblebug I did, I did the initial one then 3 paid tasks were waiting. Like PP once I did 2 the other one vanished.

cupcakes12blossom · 29/10/2023 08:28

I've just done the second task. I'm hoping it doesn't take too long to be approved.

Februarycat · 29/10/2023 10:09

I did the starter assessment but not had any tasks so don't think I have got in.

LauraMarie2382 · 29/10/2023 10:41

Yes they appeared instantly. I did them last night so might be Monday before I hear anything.

Did the other tasks not appear straight away? I was quite shocked when mine appeared as I thought I would have to wait a while.

Februarycat · 29/10/2023 11:07

@LauraMarie2382 No I just had a thank you for taking the assessment but no other tasks. I have been checking.

cupcakes12blossom · 29/10/2023 11:12

In that case I don't think I've got in either - nothing appeared straight away. Think I'll have to get a lodger to cover my increased mortgage costs, which I'd rather not do!

Fiddie · 29/10/2023 11:33

Reading Reddit that doesn't mean anything so keep checking email and don't give up just yet.
