£75ish for 2 adults a 6yr old and newborn with 1 dog. We do midweek top up milk bread and any other bits normally not more than £10/15

Svara · 26/01/2022 12:06

About £50 for an adult and teen. Cat food bought separately online.

RedCandyApple · 26/01/2022 12:07

£150 + family of 5

summerhillgang · 26/01/2022 12:07

£130 family of two adults, one newborn and a dog

Chocoqueen · 26/01/2022 12:08

£60-£80 depending on what else needs getting and our plans for the week. 2 adults and a 5 month old.

MrsTimRiggins · 26/01/2022 12:08

I don’t tend to go exactly weekly but it averages out at about £75 for two adults, one ebf baby and a dog. Shop includes toiletries, occasional alcohol/middle of Lidl impulse buys, nappies/wipes, cleaning products and I’m allowing for the top ups in between too … but no dog food so I don’t know why I mentioned him other than I didn’t want to leave him out 😂

Newpuppymummy · 26/01/2022 12:08

We have two adults, a 16-year-old and a one year old. We spend somewhere between 75 and 85 a week week

SilkLabrador · 26/01/2022 12:08

£100-120 for a family of 4 from Waitrose.

Dogs and cat food not included.

cheesesandwhich · 26/01/2022 12:11

£85 -£90 a week for two adults, two year old, dog and cat. Normally only covers 6 days then we need a top up of milk etc

Glowinglights · 26/01/2022 12:15

Family with 2 adult, 2 teens and a cat - around £130 per week. That would be 7x dinners and also packed lunches for adults, toiletries, cat food , cleaning products etc.

Chickydoo · 26/01/2022 14:41

£200
4 adults 1 teen 5 cats
This includes all pet food, most toiletries & all cleaning stuff & some alcohol (a bottle of wine or a few beers some weeks).
2 of the adults are sons in their early 20's and eat like it's going out of fashion.
I try to keep it just under the £200 mark. Sometimes it just goes over.

Pinchofnom · 26/01/2022 14:43

About £90 for 2 adults and 2 DC

Lyricallie · 26/01/2022 14:43

About £50 p/w but I've been trying to cut down in January to claw back some December money lol so been more in the £40 ball park. We mainly shop in Lidl and pick up a couple of things from Tesco and the butchers.

Lyricallie · 26/01/2022 14:43

Oh that's for two adults!

The only poster I believe on this thread!

I spent £40 yesterday literally on just a 'few bits' - IN ALDI! The cheapest supermarket around.

No way are people only spending £50 a week. I think they're forgetting top up shops, or not including how much they spend on takeaways or something!

A decent shop for 4 people is easily minimum £150 - and that's in cheapo Aldi not Sainsburys or elsewhere.

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 26/01/2022 14:51

Do you literally mean ‘food’ OP
Or are you including cleaning products, toiletries, baby stuff, alcohol etc .

PattyPan · 26/01/2022 14:51

How long is a piece of string? About £30-40 a week for us, two adults who don’t buy meat or alcohol and shop in Lidl.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 26/01/2022 14:53

If you mean everything from a supermarket/ with top ups £100 a wk, 2 adults a child and a toddler

Findahouse21 · 26/01/2022 14:55

£80—£90 for 2 adults and 2 children, one in nappies. But dc have some meals at nursrry/after school club which cuts things down too

RockAndHardPlace1 · 26/01/2022 14:57

£150 family of four. 3 cats. Morrisons.

Morrisons have gotten very expensive lately! Sad

Ejk1990 · 26/01/2022 14:58

I spend 150-160 for a 2 week shop for 2 adults. That's including everything.

I go to the local shop for bread and milk once a week for around 10 pound. Then probably a takeaway once a week for 30.

So around 100 pound for 2 adults at Tesco. Not sure how others do it for less 😳

tootyfruitypickle · 26/01/2022 15:01

£100 me teen dd and a dog. Including toiletries. No idea how people do it for less. That does include an organic veg box fortnightly.

chillyheeler · 26/01/2022 15:01

Two adults, a four year old and two cats, our budget is about £100 a week, we usually spend about £60-70 with a top up shop in the middle (bread, milk etc etc). DP works from home so we go through food pretty quickly, plus mine and DD's packed lunches for work and school.

Aspergirl77 · 26/01/2022 15:01

Around £90-£100 per week, 2 adults, 1 teen, 1 tween, 2 cats. Usually do the bulk of shopping either Tesco or Asda click and collect, then Aldi for a few bits we like specifically from there.

noblegreenk · 26/01/2022 15:02

£80 on average. That's 2 adults, 1 3yo and a large dog. We spend approx £50 in aldi and £30 in sainsburys.
