Matched betting

cafedesreves · 10/01/2022 20:04

I'm keen to renovate our kitchen and hear that matched betting can be a good way of raising extra cash.
Can I ask how much you actually can make from it? I've got an hour to and from work to do it on my phone... Is this realistic?!
Thanks!

You definitely make money from it. I made £1000 but haven’t done it for a while. I work full time too and only had one account (those making a fortune from it are multi accounting) and was impressed. Especially at first you can make a decent amount

SleepySheepy · 10/01/2022 20:30

Yes I've been doing it for just under 2 months and I'm nearly at £500 profit. I work full time with kids and pets, I follow a Facebook page where I get most of my tips. Sometimes you have to be quick to catch the right odds before they change, I find it easy to pop on and off for a few minutes throughout the day when an opportunity comes up

Rosewaterblossom · 10/01/2022 20:38

I'd be interested in how this works too..

cafedesreves · 10/01/2022 21:54

Ah this sounds promising. Thank you. I'm a bit scared to actually take the plunge...

Been doing it for 3 years. Have made thousands but it is slowing down now. Managed 400 quid in December but this month will probably only be 100.
I treat it as a hobby and the profit as a bonus.

thefavourite · 10/01/2022 22:17

Hiya, I was a matched bettor in 2018/2019 and stopped so I could have 3 months clean bank statements for my mortgage company/house purchase, then never got into it again.
I used to use OddsMonkey but signed up to it again last week during the £1 offer and the offers were woeful. Does anyone use Profit Accumulator or anything else that has offers plus an odds matching tool/integration please?
I am gubbed from Sky, Coral, Ladbrokes and William Hill (from memory) so that makes things a bit trickier.
I tried to get into Casino last week but I concluded that I don't have the stomach/bankroll for it. I keep busting out.
I could really do with a £100+ per month side income again (last time I aimed for £100 per week which I easily smashed) so any tips on where to find offers very much appreciated @Stiffcondomhat!

Stiffcondomhat · 10/01/2022 22:23

@thefavourite I use oddsmonkey. The offers are pretty poor these days. It's only skybet, 365 and Fred keeping me going really plus the occasional scuzzy small timers.
Team profit on Facebook are affiliated with profit accumulator now. I don't know if they are any better than OM. I wouldn't have thought so though. It's the bookies that are stinger.

cafedesreves · 10/01/2022 22:25

This is super useful thanks. What is Casino?

OP posts:
Stiffcondomhat · 10/01/2022 22:25

There is money to be made still but you have to work a bit harder for it.

whitecircle · 10/01/2022 22:27

I matched betted for around 6 months and made £1000 profit. You will need to sign up to one of the coaching courses (free). I used Team Profit and found it really user friendly and the matched betting guides really simple to follow. It's a bit of a learning curve but once you get started and gain momentum it gets easier!

Stiffcondomhat · 10/01/2022 22:30

Casino offers are not risk free (so essentially gambling) but with the mathematical edge tipped in your favour so over time your profits will in theory outweigh your losses. Lots of matched betters move on to casino offers after they've been doing it a while. I've never bothered apart from the simple low risk offers as 1. I can't bear losing and 2. It's incredibly boring clicking spin 50+ times.

Only for those with nerves of steel! Don't touch it as a newbie. You can lose and win - statistically you will always make money long term if you do it properly at volume, but the variances can be brutal and you need a decent bank of money to make it work.
cafedesreves · 10/01/2022 22:36

Ok Casino sounds a step too far for me!
V interesting, will definitely look more into it.

dinahsdishes · 10/01/2022 22:41

I've made around 90000 over 5 ish years - it's definitely slowed down now and not just from gubbings, the offers are not as good.

I still make around 1000 per month from casino and mostly use
Profit Accumulator

I don't know how much you'd make in just a couple of hours - like anything, the more you it in the more you get out.

Saturdays are still the best day for me with football

ShanghaiDiva · 10/01/2022 22:42

I also used team profit to start with. Their instructions and videos were all quite easy to follow. I made about £1600 last year but only really do football and I have been gubbed from Paddy, Sky and a few others.

SleepySheepy · 11/01/2022 15:11

I was scared too, I spent a few weeks just watching the how to videos on team profit. If you want a hand hold feel free to pm me :-)

cafedesreves · 11/01/2022 20:21

@SleepySheepy thank you!!!

I've just done the first Skybet on the free Odds monkey trial. Very exciting!

OP posts:
Helga55 · 15/01/2022 20:36

I did it for around 2 years and made about 7-8k, I rarely touched the casino side as I knew I probably couldn't cope with the variance, and didn't trust myself to not actual start gambling my profits! I stopped due to be gubbed (not being able to take part in the offer/promotions) by the bookies who offer the best offers and also being heavily stake restricted, could place a bet for a couple of hundred, but once restricted, I'd only be able to place a bet for a maximum of 20p (thanks PaddyPower)

It's a good hobby, but the offers really don't seem to be as good as they were and the 'profit' is not instant, it takes time to build up a bank and you'll probably find it'll take a good while before you can take out a few hundred here & there till you do. I joined Team Profit, they have a good FB page and have lots of knowledge, but my advice is to treat it as a hobby and anything you make is a bonus. It does take time to get your head round it, and to begin with, you'll probably lose a few pounds till you fully understand how it works, but if you've got time, it's certainly worth doing!

RagzReturnedUnwrapped · 15/01/2022 20:50

I made £30k in 2 years, but mostly on the casino side. Offers got shit and I started working full time so gave it up. If I had the time for sports, there's still money to be made.

goingpearshaped · 15/01/2022 20:56

I am at £2600 as of today actually. Started in April 2021. Slowing up hugely and not prepared to multi account. Extra pennies but I have to work for it. Finding it hard to fit in around FT work and kids etc but so some on Saturday ams where I can and some eves. Casino is not for me either, too stressful! Also TP.

thefavourite · 16/01/2022 08:50

Did you remember to lay? I'm excited for you, its cool when you can be a newbie and work your way through all the offers. Give us a shout if you need help with using your free bet.

I did the Grosvenor free Starburst 50p spin glitch last week and made £40 which was then removed due to a glitch under bookie t&cs. I think I've lost my stomach for it now. I really need to make £100-£200 p/m to top up my income but I'm not sure if MB/casino is the way to go.

I'd really appreciate some help from old timers. Is PA better than OM? I don't use Facebook so can't really use TP. Ideally I'd like to do a few football offers a week, make £25-£50 per week and forget about it the rest of the time! Sounds easy, but is proving harder than expected. I have a reasonable bankroll I can use.

cafedesreves · 16/01/2022 08:52

@thefavourite yes I did... I followed the OddsMonkey guide which I found to be clear - will keep you updated 😀 and certainly ask if I need help from an expert.
Hope you find someone more experienced to help you

Hello I'm an old timer! Been doing this for over 3 years. What help would you like?

YABVVU · 16/01/2022 13:38

@ilovetea69 - how much time do you spend on it these days? How much profit do you make?

Often people say it's not the money maker it once was.

I desperately need money as my children's dad has stopped child maintenance and Im in deficit each month Angry
