Matched betting

cafedesreves · 10/01/2022 20:04

I'm keen to renovate our kitchen and hear that matched betting can be a good way of raising extra cash.
Can I ask how much you actually can make from it? I've got an hour to and from work to do it on my phone... Is this realistic?!
Thanks!
@ilovetea69 - how much time do you spend on it these days? How much profit do you make?

Often people say it's not the money maker it once was.

I desperately need money as my children's dad has stopped child maintenance and Im in deficit each month Angry
A couple of hours in the evening and a few hours on Saturdays and Sundays. I even helped to run a matched betting group for a while.

What level of experience are you, have you done the welcome offers and got a bank to work with?

ilovetea69 · 16/01/2022 13:45

Profit - I usually make a minimum of £1k a month however when I started I was making a few hundred a month. My profits soared when I joined a WhatsApp group of matched bettors and we all helped each other. I have had some good months where I've made over £5,000.

I've heard that matched betting used to be more profitable in the past but so what - I still do well out of it and it's more money than if you say and didn't do anything!

I've only skim read this thread, but I'd recommend joining Team Profit (it's free) which is how I started almost exactly 4 years ago.

I don't devote much time to it now, and mainly do casino offers but have made almost £16000 profit in those four years. (Yr1 £4900. Yr2 £3674, Yr3 £4270, Yr4 3096)

My advice would be to take it very slowly, read all the guides, check and double check that you've backed and laid the same outcome (I lost £150 quite early on by backing one horse and laying a different one, which then won the race!)

Accept that you are likely to make mistakes but any money lost is soon recouped.

Casino is not time linked in the same way as matched betting, but you have to have the mindset to accept potentially long downswings. Looking at my graphs, it works out at roughly £1 profit per casino offer completed but that includes long downswings then a huge win to go into profit

ilovetea69 · 16/01/2022 13:59

Team Profit has gone really downhill. There are better services out there but you have to pay for them.

goingpearshaped · 16/01/2022 14:01

Sounds like you are doing amazingly @ilovetea69, I am seeing things slow down profit wise. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Is that whatsapp group open at all or perhaps a more private thing (no worries if so!) I can't figure out how to earn more aside from multiple accounts (which I do not want).

NancyDrawed · 16/01/2022 14:04

Oh, that's a shame. I found TP really useful when I first started and the staff were really helpful too.

I'm still with Oddsmonkey for their software which TP were had some sort of affiliation with when I started. No idea what PA are like.

YABVVU · 16/01/2022 14:06

ilovetea69 & NancyDrawed - thanks for the tips Smile

I'm 100% a newbie but it sounds as though there is still money to be made and I'm willing to put many hours into it.

Would you recommend Profit Accumulator? It's pricey but meant to be simple to follow. My brain isn't as sharp as it once was so an idiots guide would suit me!

User2638483 · 16/01/2022 14:08

If you’ve never done it before definitely worth it as you can get all the welcome offers. After a while it becomes harder.

Don’t get sucked into casino offers unless they’re generally risk free. Especially if you have an addictive personality.

User2638483 · 16/01/2022 14:08

I like profit accumulator and did find it easy but you have to spend sufficient time doing it each month to cover the monthly cost

NancyDrawed · 16/01/2022 14:10

ilovetea69 I would LOVE to make £1k per month, I only came close in March of my first year when I got loads of Cheltenham offers.

I might have to bite the bullet and learn some of the more complex bookie offers. I've yet to get into accas for example and got gubbed by 365 after taking too much advantage of their early payout offers, so I 'm a bit wary. But I know others say hammer the offers while you can.

thefavourite · 16/01/2022 14:10

Me too @goingpearshaped. I've done most of the major sign-ups and am gubbed from a lot of the big bookies.

For example today, I've done the Hollywood Bets £40 Ashes (with £20 free bet if lose) and the £25 net loss refund on live casino on BetFred - both offers found on OM. What else can I do today/this week please? I dabble in casino a wee bit, with free spin sign up etc but definitely don't have the stomach for big losses/variance. I also don't tend to do any £5 free bet offer as it just doesn't seem worth it (but maybe I need to change my mindset here). I don't have FB. I am making pennies really and won't multi-account. I'd love to know what I'm missing/not doing.

Any help is hugely appreciated.

ilovetea69 · 16/01/2022 14:11

@YABVVU - look up backyourselfbetting on Instagram - they're great for newbies.

Jaffacake007 · 16/01/2022 14:11

Following with interest as a complete newbie to matched betting - this is something I've considered for a while to help enhance my monthly income

ilovetea69 · 16/01/2022 14:11

@goingpearshaped the only way to continue to make profits is to multi account - do you have a partner you can sign up?

ilovetea69 · 16/01/2022 14:13

@goingpearshaped - we're on discord now. It's £15 a month but they post reloads and have a free section too. Get in touch with backyourselfbetting on Instagram x

ilovetea69 · 16/01/2022 14:13

@NancyDrawed can you do extra places? They're a real money maker.

ilovetea69 · 16/01/2022 14:15

@thefavourite - do not turn your nose up at the £5 free bet offers, they all build up. Have you done any of the smaller bookie sign ups?

I know I keep saying it but my profits soared when I joined a group as they send you offers in real time that you can jump on quickly.

Amandasummers · 16/01/2022 14:20

I started this in 2020 and then never got back into it because right I can’t work out how to get back in to it because I’ve already done a certain amount of the welcome offers! I wish I had a clue how to start again!

ilovetea69 · 16/01/2022 14:23

Do you get reload emails from the bookies? Have you got a 'bank' to work with?

User2638483 · 16/01/2022 14:23

I had the same @Amandasummers, I felt so rusty when starting again! It was harder but I did manage it and made quite a lot the second time, I got into horses more.

I found the old email account I had before so I could search and check if I’d already signed up to sites if I couldn’t remember. I also always kept a rudimentary spreadsheet so that helped too.
I just worked my way down the offers discarding ones I couldn’t do because I’d signed up in the past.

User2638483 · 16/01/2022 14:25

The cash back for signing up to Casino offers were also lucrative the second time round.
But as I’ve said upthread, there is money to be made on casino offers but be aware they are trying to reel you in so be extremely picky about which ones you do and stop when it’s time to stop.

GrandmasCat · 16/01/2022 14:28

If you are working full time, how many hours on weekdays do you need to spend match making to make it worthwhile when you are a newbie? Let’s say to earn more than £50 a week? (I know the answers can vary widely but just wondering)

NancyDrawed · 16/01/2022 14:31

@ilovetea69

Thanks for answering and the further advice. I dipped my toe into extra places but didn't really get on with them. I never covered the whole field and invariably missed the lucrative extra place with the ones I did back and lay.

I also did just each way no lay for a while, but with low stakes. I still do those on 365, even though I am stake restricted and for making up the bet value required for the places I am not yet gubbed or restricted on. I'm a bit worried about going after the boosts as I worry they'll flag me up as a matched bettor. I've still got loads of bookies I haven't signed up to yet, perhaps my next big push should be to get onto those. No multi accounting here yet.

I'd say an hour in the evening when you start out to do sign ups. Then an hour or two at weekends to set up your bets and then go.

The more time consuming stuff is what brings in the big profits. 2ups and extra places are advanced offers which make you lots of money.

Casino (which is only recommended when you have at least £1,000 bank) isn't time dependent, you can do it any time of day. I used to do it after bedtime.
