Hi all, happy May. Welcome to this months thread. I'll load up the link later. If anyone else wants to do it, feel free, I'm rubbish at it.

The idea of this thread is to earn a bit of extra cash, as the title suggest. Have a look and these threads go back a while and might give you some ideas.

Newbies welcome. We're a lovely, helpful lot.

@AVL thanks

@whysotriggered

With regards to potato, definitely back into the quiet zone. Looking at the emails I am getting, I see they are recruiting again too. I can't imagine how anyone makes over £200 a month let alone £1000 which I remember some poster making.
The number of members on slack has dropped recently, not increased. The email notications from wiki are from the bespoke sections, so it seems they are adding people to that. It rubs it in for those of us that would like to be added! As someone else said, I can't see the low queue situation changing, it has been about 2 months now, it's not lack of content coming in but the amount of people alwasy logged in & working keeping the queues so low. A few evenings ago one queue went over 900 but there was no surge, it was brought down again fairly quickly. Also you've probably noticed the toy client has gone, someone on slack said it had been moved to bespoke, that must have been about 10% of the content on one queue that's now gone.
LoLo2020 · 12/05/2021 12:41

@YonderTweek @AnotherOne4 so the user metrics, are they considered accurate? Despite working and having elements to review, the metrics are 30-60 minutes behind in terms of my productivity.

In terms of the invoicing, so the skips are not counted and we have to meet the minimum of 30 rated jobs for the invoice to be approved. I wish I could check back on my previous days to see how many I actually rated eep :/

lynsey91 · 12/05/2021 12:46

@Snowballs1 it would be nice to know how bespoke actually works. I understand that people are invited to it but what is the criteria to be invited?

I try and do some potato every day but it is just so disheartening when it is so slow.

Snowballs1 · 12/05/2021 13:07

I don't know, but they must pick people that are fast as well as accurate as they get a guaranteed rate, I don't expect to ever be picked, I'm not fast.
It is really impossible now to make a good hourly rate if you're not really fast. The last few months there also seems to be an increase in very long items in one queue that would take several minutes to even skim through, let alone read properly. I have been trying to get £10 a day the last few days but am so often waiting for content to load that I get fed up. It also means wasting time constantly checking the queues. I'll carry on with it though.

Well I had started to speed up but it's impossible now and has been for a while.

I assume I am accurate as I have only once been pulled up about a mistake but, as there is no real feedback, who knows!

I was so excited when I got in and thought I could earn good money. I was originally doing £10 a day or more but now it would take forever just to earn £10

seizethecuttlefish · 12/05/2021 15:10

I used to make a good amount on potato but it's definitely died a death. Someone mentioned they'd sold shares so they're trying to get cash in. I've been at it 18mths and never been offered shifts. It's definitely frustrating as it's not really worthwhile now and getting less through means less chance of getting a rhythm. I keep it in the background but I've gone from £12/hr to £6 or £7. It maddens me that there is no support or feedback and you never know how you're doing.

@Snowballs1 Glad other people noticing. It's a proper kick in the teeth to others when they state they'd recruit in slack when they needed people.

AnotherOne4 · 12/05/2021 15:12

For @LoLo2020

From what I’ve learnt from chat:

  • No, the users metrics are not accurate. Always use your own timings.
  • Depends what you mean by ‘skip’. If you are clicking the option ‘skip’ (at the bottom of the page) then yes, they are counted. (But there is also an option to click on next (top right I believe) which is also termed usingthe word ‘skip’ This skip is not counted (but you shouldn’t really be pressing it anyway)

You should be doing at least 60 an hour (I’m doing way more then that)

You can go back and check how many you did on previous previous days - play about with user metrics.

I’ll try and explain a bit better later if you need me too - in the mobile at the minute and typing isn’t easy lol

That's great, thank you :) I've not touched the skip at the top right hand side. Only the one within the window within the metrics :)
LoLo2020 · 12/05/2021 15:27

@AnotherOne4 thanks so much, phew! Makes perfect sense. There was me thinking how cheeky that they'd not count pages we've still had to read ha ha Grin

That's how I feel. When I started I was told that people are usually moved to bespoke after 6 months...

@superpinkgirl

I didn't pass Po**le either, is anyone actually going to try again? I'm not sure if I can face it especially as we don't get paid!
I didn't either and not sure I'll bother as some of it seems too subjective to me.
AnotherOne4 · 12/05/2021 17:14

No idea what that is, but it sounds awesome!!

I'm gonna go take a look.....

0htooooodles · 12/05/2021 17:14

@superpinkgirl didn't pass either! Christ knows what they're looking for as I picked as I would have for bane 😶

I feel they need to actually provide their version of the correct answers with some explanation as you can't learn when you don't know what the mistakes were!

0htooooodles · 12/05/2021 17:32

@homesickinscotland agee! looks like a ton of people failed according to the chat

Frenchdoors1 · 12/05/2021 18:06

I failed too and I'm not doing the test again.

Is it enough that I make myself 'unavailable 'on S########d or do I actually log off, if so where do I log off?

LoLo2020 · 12/05/2021 18:12

@AnotherOne4 ok thanks I've managed 2.5 hours, partly at 06:00 this morning and now but it's still scant in terms of jobs :/ how you doing?

kneesknocking · 12/05/2021 18:42

@LoLo2020 I've done 2 hours but it feels like I've been on and off it all day Confused

AnotherOne4 · 12/05/2021 18:50

@LoLo2020 - I managed about an hour at 6.30 this morning, just about to start again now.
Gonna add my timings up later and see what's what lol.
