Welcome to the Feb thread.

Newbies welcome. We're all here for the same thing, get together and earn some extra cash. Aim for £10/day but every little (or lots) is good.

I've still not been paid for any Appen work, there was a flurry of emails over the weekend that looked like they were responding to mass criticism but we shall see. Qualified for a 'proper' project today so if this is as bad as the "auto-generating invoice" work then Appen is 100% going in the bin for me. Starting to think it's just a data harvesting scam site rather than a reputable company tbh.

blowonitthen - oh dear . this doesn't sound promising does it.

@blowonitthen I had similar issues. I got some added but I've stopped doing them.

Just seen an email asking for a CV for the N**n project even though I missed the 01:58 yesterday morning email. It has vanished from my list but am still getting correspondence... no idea what's happening

@MoreMoneyPlease I haven't looked at that one but thought the same about the recent audio text correction job - the guidelines were about four pages long! Others must have been thinking the same as the rate went up and then several emails promoting the job followed - so not many takers I'd guess.

I've noticed on Prolific that more and more are putting e.g. '10 minutes' in the listing, then when you click into the survey it says a longer duration

@Winterjoy maybe I'll consider the Nvo task if the rate goes up considerably then. I want more of the phone calls, I love those!

I don't get a great deal of Prolific surveys but they're usually quite quick. I've just hit £300 after 18 months and 220 surveys!

@Crowsandshivers I had that the first time because I didn't include my own address details, but I did get an email from them saying that. Could that be it? Did you follow the example from the wiki?

@Crowsandshivers it will be that you have missed something off- have you made your address details visible? Included their address?

Shout if you need links. There are a variety of places we earn on. You will hear Appen mentioned a lot and Crisp. There is everything from transcription to rating tasks on discussed on the thread.

Wondered if any of you could help.. on the Ne*n project on Ap but when I click to work it doesn't provide a link to the survey.

@PandemicPalava clicking on the survey link on website doesn't work fir me. I have to wait until I get an email with the link. They email me every couple if days

Oh I don't think I have an email from them yet, not since the CV request, then it just appeared in my projects. Maybe I'm just being impatient

Hello! What's going on with the project chats on Ap? No one seems to be there anymore, and I was a bit baffled to see that the project rep (and a lot of others) have been removed from the A%%r chat. How odd? I wonder if the project is coming to an end? I hope not because I like it! Haha.

In other news, I am still having such a dry spell! Literally everything has dried up and I have only managed to return two cheapish items from A&&r and I've done some Prolific. I have even been doing some N**vo but it's not paying much. I was looking at other avenues but I'm finding it hard to find new things. I checked out MTurk but I was immediately declined and I don't know why. Lol. Not sure I wanted to do it anyway but I need more work! I'm low key considering MB again but can't be arsed to open a new bank account for it... Argh.

How's everyone doing with their shares and stuff? I'm tempted to get on Freeshare but I'm not sure if there's actually any money in it.

I was just declined from MTurk too and no idea why. No way of finding out either, very odd

@YonderTweek I just had a look on social and there's a couple of posts about it.. it looks like they wanted new raters for some reason so I guess that's why loads of us got onto it at the same time. Now that they've got new raters in place they've gotten rid of the old ones. Seems a bit off to get rid of the project rep maybe they've replaced him/her too!

@Buster27 Ahhh I always forget to check the social bit! I'm always in the chats but keep forgetting social is a thing. Lol. I had a look just now and it looks a bit dodge as some people are saying they've not received their reimbursements and now they've been booted off. Harsh. I hope the rep comes back though because she was really good at helping individual people with their reimbursement issues.

@PandemicPalava Yeah, my email said they're not going to tell me why. It all seemed a bit mysterious.

@YonderTweek look at Lionbridge they had a couple of things up a couple of weeks ago. If you have a decent microphone TeemAI have a recording project going.

My last thing from my Feb Am arrived today. Still waiting on a Jan purchase but fairly sure it's never arriving.

I've got far too much going on at the moment and feel like I'm constantly playing catch up. Hoping schools going back helps.
