Welcome to the Feb thread.

Newbies welcome. We're all here for the same thing, get together and earn some extra cash. Aim for £10/day but every little (or lots) is good.

Sorry can I ask what is a**r referred to on this post?

Buster27 · 08/02/2021 15:17

@Elcantador your project will just sit as active (with the work this button) until Appen remove it, it doesn't go into a completed section or such like. It sounds like payment will be 'auto-generated' for that project, which means after it passes quality checks a line will automatically appear in your invoice with the project name and payment amount. Invoice submission opens at the start of the month and the deadline is a few days later (not sure of the March cut off sorry), so basically you won't need to do anything else for this project other than submitting the invoice sometime after the 1st and before the deadline (if it's appeared by then, sometimes they take a while!).

@MischiefManager It's a project on Appen (you have to buy things to give feedback on the purchasing experience, you get reimbursed for the products you buy).

Hey @Baby89
I do get quite a lot of tests with UserTesting. I’ve done three today for $10 each & 15 mins each. I think it helps I’m a small business owner, and many of the tests I qualify for pertain to that. I login to the website each day and have it on in the background while I work. Whenever a new study becomes available there is a “ding” noise. I always go immediately to the website and answer the screening questions. The faster you do this, the more likely you are to qualify.

I actually really enjoy the work. I like talking out loud my thoughts as I navigate around a website. It’s good fun.

Elcantador · 08/02/2021 16:02

Thank you very much Buster27 for taking the time to reply. Very kind of you and very helpful!

Also, a Crisp related question- can it be done from a mobile?
I got 19 out of 20 when i took the test, although had to take it 2x to get that but heard nothing. If it cant be done from my phone then i guess i wont need to watch out for their email, so was just wondering.

WizardOfAus · 08/02/2021 16:21

@Elcantador Crisp can’t be done on a mobile. Just desktop or laptop. And don’t worry, it takes ages (9months- 1 year) to hear back from them after you pass the Crisp test.

Elcantador · 08/02/2021 16:33

WizardofAus
Thank you!

Heyha · 08/02/2021 16:34

Had a reply to my survey invoicing ticket which was quite shitty in time considering it seems the system is playing up and it's not just me being thick, which is what was implied in the response. Starting to think I might bin Appen altogether. I've qualified for Way With Words so hoping that will pick up soon. I can't pass the potato test 😂 and it sounds quite off-putting anyway.

Maybe prolific/utest for my next attempts?

unicornpoopoop · 08/02/2021 16:37

Another one that I've been on for years but never thought to mention as you don't get paid is click research.

They send you products to try out and fill in a quick survey about . You have to be quick once you get the email as they fill up quick but I've had about 5 things in the last few months

dirtyfries · 08/02/2021 18:17

Thanks @unicornpoopoop I've signed up

Baby89 · 08/02/2021 21:37

@WizardOfAus thanks for the reply I'll definitely look into it

Winterjoy · 10/02/2021 08:07

I'm having a complete mare with Ap. Finally got onto a daily job with a weekly production requirement but can't meet this as most days there aren't enough jobs available to do so Confused Already had one quality email for last week, and likely get one for this week. So probably going to get taken off the project soon. Over before it's barely started!

As with previous posters the response to tickets is that I'm somehow at fault (even though the chat is full of others with the same issue).

I hope Crisp comes through soon... from other posts it seems they are the most reliable ongoing work? Also going to get cracking on a LB application.

Rad2016 · 10/02/2021 08:56

Finally got a reply to my missing A**r Dec bonus. They say i'll hear back by end of the week. fingers crossed. They say please next time only send one ticket. Yea I would if you reply to me. Since Dec till now no feedback so I had no choice but to keep sending until someone got back. Capishe!

Paddingtonthebear · 10/02/2021 09:19

Newbie here. Where’s best to start?

WizardOfAus · 10/02/2021 10:16

@Paddingtonthebear just sign up to everything/ explore all the possibilities and see which one sticks / which one you enjoy the most.

If you pass the Crisp exam, it takes 9-12 months to get work with them.

Intellizoom and UserTesting you can begin right away. But you have to be comfortable talking your thoughts out loud and being recorded.

UTest is good, and you can start right away. But you need to do most of the Academy lessons in order to understand what’s going on.

Sign up for Prolific and you can start doing surveys immediately. They’re interesting and all from uni researchers. However, you usually only get 1 or 2 a day.

My best advice is just sign up for it all and go with whatever you like.

I do Crisp, UTest, UserTesting, Neevo & Prolific.

WizardOfAus · 10/02/2021 10:18

@Rad2016 I’ve been accepted for Am*r... but I’m really reluctant to do it given the payment situation. Any thoughts? Is it worth it?

Rad2016 · 10/02/2021 10:25

@WizardofAus, it's not too bad tbh, quite a few people have been there for years without any problems, some of us have missing payments and have to chase for them, good thing is they reply. I only started in October and so far all good aside from the Dec payment missing. I will say give it a try and see how you feel about it. I have had some interesting items, some rubbish ones. It's an easy way to make money and same time an enjoyable shopping experience for some.

thetruthisout · 10/02/2021 10:43

Hi everyone I'm new to this, I've started with clickworker but it's asking for my tax number or if I'm freelance a different number. Does anyone know what I need to put here? Is it my NI number?

Buster27 · 10/02/2021 10:58

@WizardOfAus I've done three rounds with no issues, currently on fourth round. It looks like the people who do have problems with payment generally get it sorted, so I think it depends if it would be an issue for you if you were out of pocket for longer than expected.

WizardOfAus · 10/02/2021 12:03

Thanks @Rad2016 and thanks @Buster27.

I’ll give it a go and we’ll see what comes of it.

seizethecuttlefish · 10/02/2021 13:56

Hi all. Are we rocking through Feb?

Welcome @Paddingtonthebear

@WizardOfAus I like Am. It's not making me millions but it's a refreshing change and you've reminded me I need to chase a couple of things that haven't arrived.

Did my first lot of transcriptions but not confident as it took my ages. Doing a voice recording project but they want over 400 prompts completed by the end of the day. It's taking ages to load and glitchy. I've emailed them. Really should go peel potatoes but it seems there's a glitch everywhere I look.

I need to bite the bullet and do UTest. I think I need a time management course. I have no idea where the days go!

OP posts:
Buster27 · 10/02/2021 14:31

I got my last two Am purchases today, MAC make up (going to exchange for a product I actually want) and sunglasses that I actually really like, better than expected, so I'll keep those!

ruralwanderer · 10/02/2021 15:57

I've only had one Am** product so far, everything is taking ages this time around! Don't know if I just got rubbish overseas shops or if it's our local post.

tinyradish · 10/02/2021 16:57

I received 3 of the A products very quickly, goodness knows when the rest of it will be here, if ever. Grin

whysotriggered · 10/02/2021 17:57

Annoyingly the dollar has fallen further
