@CrepuscularCritter It does show you the number of items you have available but that doesn't necessarily mean you'll get to buy that many (I had 7 but only got to purchase 5 as two of them just had an error message).

lannister · 07/12/2020 13:51

Are there any keyboard short cuts to get faster on potato? I currently use laptop & its track pad. Just can't seem to get past 140 an hour. I know monitoring is faster but all the work is in the other queues

peabrainer · 07/12/2020 14:20

@lannister
I use laptop with mouse, tab down with left hand and click mouse with right hand. The more you do the quicker you will get, I was so slow to start with, now try to do 150 items in 15 mins. I prefer Mod2.

CrepuscularCritter · 07/12/2020 15:01

Thanks @Buster27 that's useful to know. Also that I might get error messages. It's been helpful to see what other people have bought too.

lannister · 07/12/2020 15:02

@peabrainer WOW, 150 in just 15 mins, that's amazing!! Will definitely be trying the tab key

seizethecuttlefish · 07/12/2020 15:20

@CrepuscularCritter I was the same as Buster. I had 12 possible and only 7 were ok. Loads or errors, an out of stock etc. You can see the next item so my last one was a shop and I picked something cheap as I didn't want to spend loads on something when there could be better stuff but the next 3 didn't work. I did get some good stuff though. Hoping I get picked this time. Smile

OP posts:
SingHallelujah · 07/12/2020 15:48

@peabrainer 600 an hour would be great! I think they need to give an idea of minimum expected per hour.

I think I read 400 but I can't remember where I saw that.

peabrainer · 07/12/2020 16:00

@SingHallelujah
If I try to do more than 15 mins my rate drops right down so I literally time 15 mins to make myself work hard😂 and then breathe a sigh of relief when I can stop. I do read very quickly, was known for it at school! Who knew it would finally come in handy

TheSilentStars · 07/12/2020 16:17

I've decided I'm not doing shifts. I'm happy mooching on when I've a spare 10 minutes. I definitely find a mouse quicker and there are certain clients whose "trees" you get used to so know where to click etc.

peabrainer · 07/12/2020 16:24

@lannister
Sorry just checked what I actually do and got mixed up- so I use my left hand only on the return key and everything else on the mouse with my right hand. I found trackpad much slower. (So NOT the tab key- I used to do that but found that keeping one hand just on the return key meant I sped up.)

Tattiespuds · 07/12/2020 16:25

@lannister last month we talked about keyboard v trackpad and i was using a combination of both but lately i been using only keys and its soo much faster... it took me a bit of getting used to - like first 15-30mins or so. i use up and down to move the dot to the option i want to select and hit spacebar to highlight (or unhighlight if i make a mistake) then enter to go to next question/submit. Whenever i start a session i speed as i go and get used to the rhythm.

lannister · 07/12/2020 17:19

@peabrainer @Tattiespuds thank you for the tips. Will force myself to only use the keyboard this week until I get used to it. Will be excited to post my new total per hour :)

CrepuscularCritter · 07/12/2020 17:55

That's useful to know @seizethecuttlefish, and will help me to pace things a bit if I get any items with choices. This thread has been so helpful, and big thanks go out to you all.

Baby89 · 07/12/2020 18:05

Hi all , anyone else take part in surveys for Quick thoughts? I earned enough for the Amazon voucher but can't claim it. Emailed them and they claim I have numerous accounts so they taking me off the site ? I only have one account what are they playing at.

Februarycat · 07/12/2020 18:22

Just a quick question about Payoneer I have been doing a project on Appen for a month and my money went into payoneer last month but I have not withdrawn it yet. Today had an e mail from Payoneer saying I need to add more information and when I checked its asking for Business information and post Brexit information. I thought we did not need to fill this. Anyone else had this?

lilmishap · 07/12/2020 20:27

@Februarycat yes they were bombarding me with emails about it, so I did it eventually

lilmishap · 07/12/2020 21:38

Bums! I did the Mitchell test earlier (Guidelines appeared)and just got an email telling me not to as they're fixing errors.

YonderTweek · 08/12/2020 00:08

Ooh I just checked my A££r tool and there's products there. Eek. I hope the final email arrives soon.

Buster27 · 08/12/2020 00:08

@YonderTweek me too! I have 7, same as last time, so wonder if I'll be shops again (assuming I get the email).

luckycat872 · 08/12/2020 00:12

Hi. Looks like I may be joining A**r for the first time. One thing I'm confused about is if I have to buy something in another currency, eg euros. How would I convert this into £? As I had assumed it would just be a matter of the amount that shows on my bank statement, but 1) I'm not sure how long that takes to come through, and 2) Checking the website it says we need to convert using a rate set by them. But those rates are for converting other currencies to dollars..? Or would I first convert to dollars, and then convert that to euros? Confused Also the matter of customs. I'm assuming before every purchase we need to research this, ie if there's likely to be a charge and if so how much..?

LimeJellyforBrains · 08/12/2020 01:30

Bloody hell, looks like I'm on Am** for the first time this month too! I'm on e-commerce (no idea of the difference between this and Shops).

Was extremely anxious about it last month then didn't get picked in the end. Have forgotten everything I knew so feeling pretty calm at the moment (until I read the Guidelines again!) Grin

Good luck everyone, hope we get some good stuff for Christmas x

ElectricEels · 08/12/2020 04:52

Woohoo I'm on Amur. Can anyone tell me what happened last time if you already had an ADAP account? Did the reimbursement tool appear in your account?

TheLolaMontez · 08/12/2020 06:40

I'm also on Amur again 🎉😁

Baby89 · 08/12/2020 06:44

Hi how do you know if on am*r. Do I get email as haven't got any yo confirm .thanks

Mancbee · 08/12/2020 06:46
